Comfortable room, friendly front staff, but... The management, what are you on?
Laundry... Serious issues yet such a basic service to provide.
1. Laundry is self service and uses coins, yet, the desk won't give you coins unless you have cash, where's the cash? 20min walk to an ATM. We'll that's pretty stupid?! Surely you could either provide card readers or allow guests to get coins with a card to use your own washing machines instead of forcing them to walk into the city to an ATM. Especially considering point 2.
2. Laundry is only open until 7pm, so let's say you're a typical person working in the city until 5 (if you don't stay any later) your still gonna need 10-20min to get back to the hotel, leaving you (at best) 1hr 40min for the wash AND dry. Let's say you don't get back to hotel until 6 (realistic), now you have an hour or less to do your wash and dry.
3. There are signs in the laundry saying the whole cycle is 45min (wash AND dry) - not true, the wash took 35min by itself, the dry was scheduled to run 40min. Because I started the wash at 6:05pm (well within the indicated time) I got 20min of drying completed before the poor service desk lady had to kick me out because her shift was ending.
So I might be going to work tomorrow in wet clothes.
Further to the laundry scam, the hotel will require guest personal bank details regardless of whether or not its a business booking and business payment, and has stupid policies like charging you $80 if you lock yourself out of your room or forget the front door code.
Look, the room was comfortable, the staff were nice, but the hotel management policies are extremely poor and leave a bad taste in my mouth with wet clothes on my back, I dread the poor people who have had issues with deposits not refunded.
Like what kind of dictator makes these sort of policies, or is it just an aussie thing to make everything hard and hostile, do they even know the meaning of Hospitality?
Cannot recommend. Will use a different provider for the next trip.
