Riyad El Cadi, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"This place is like a private art museum, but without a trace of stuffiness. Once the home of a German ambassador, the riad makes an exotic, idyllic base from which to explore the souks and palaces of Marrakech. Spread over 7 interconnecting houses, this 14th-century building has been turned into an elegant ‘home from home’ - a glorious mix of chic, comfort, hospitality and art. Wander around the labyrinth of rooms, staircases, balconies and alcoves and you’ll discover magnificent Berber and Islamic art treasures - a true feast for culture-vultures. The more epicurean meanwhile, can enjoy the heated plunge pool, the hammam (steam bath), the tented roof terrace, the library, and some excellent food and wine. Just a short walk from the front door is the famous Djemaa el-Fna square, bustling with snake-charmers, storytellers, medicine men and food stalls, in what has been described as one of the world’s greatest shows. Highs Great location just a 10 minutes walk from Djemaa El Fna and surrounded by the winding souks Hidden down a quiet road, with a leafy courtyard and a sprawling rooftop, this is truly an oasis of calm The food is delicious and served by friendly staff, either on the roof terrace or in the courtyard, depending on the weather It's a great option for families with huge suites and a self-contained house sleeping up to 5 There's a plunge pool and most rooms have air-conditioning to provide welcome relief from the heat Lows This isn't your typical hotel, so instant service isn't a guarantee, though there's usually someone at the front desk The complex series of stairs and winding hallways can make it difficult to find your room - we got lost a few times Some of the cheaper ground-floor rooms are a bit dark It's a 10-15 minute walk from the nearest taxi drop-off point - though porters are at hand Its location down the narrow alleyways of the medina requires a good sense of direction, especially at night" - Aidan Forestier-Walker

This is my first visit to Marrakech. Despite arriving grumpy and sleep-deprived, I was treated with patience and kindness. The Riad is a glorious, atmospheric labyrinth. On the first night we ate in the restaurant. The chef/s are incredible. In particular the soup and mixed salads were as good as I’ve ever had. The waiting staff are first rate. The rooftop is a marvel. All the staff are so wonderfully relaxed, helpful and courteous. I can recommend this experience without hesitation.

We booked through Booking.com and this hotel was absolutely beautiful. The service was good. The pool was stunning. We stayed in mid-October with our 3 kids (5, 7, and 10). After being in Marrakesh and Essaouria and Fez, we found the food at this hotel extremely overpriced. Breakfast was lovely, but was 15 euros per person, which is a LOT when you venture out. Especially for a 5 year old who ate about 4 bites of his croissant. We arrived late (12am), the hotel staff waited up for us and offered to have a “snack” waiting for the kids. I said yes this would be very kind, a small snack. Instead they prepared a full meal, charging us 20 euros per person for this “snack” that none of our kids could eat as they fell asleep as soon as they saw the beds. 100 euros for a snack. In the end, our experience here was that we felt hustled and grossly overcharged.

A quiet peaceful hotel minutes from the centre of Marrakesh. Comfortable rooms and beds, very clean and a good breakfast on the roof terrace. Very charming, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was good value. We had the Blue House which had its own courtyard - great for recuperating from trekking in the High Atlas mountains

Absolutely beautiful place, so tranquil. The staff and owner were so helpful and made us feel at home. The food in the Road was the best that we had in Marrakesh. The terrance and dip pool was just Lovely. I would highly recommend the Road El Cadi for a memorable stay in Marrakesh ❤️

We stayed in the Ottoman Suite at Riyad El Cadi and was very impressed with the size and the level of sophistication with how it was decorated. It was gorgeous. There are two living room spaces along with a bedroom. ||We had lunch on our first day there, and it was delicious. They served it in the main courtyard which is lovely. ||A couple of the details I appreciated was that they left plenty of big bottles of water for us every day, and this was complimentary. The bath products which use argan oil were really nice, too! The staff were all very kind, welcoming, and warm.||The breakfasts on the roof were good, and the atmosphere was just stunning.|The only suggestion is that the riad offers a couple of options for breakfast. We ate the same thing every morning.||All in all, we had a very memorable and special time in Marrakech and staying at Riyad El Cadi was a highlight!

The Riyad is stunning. An authentic and beautifully kept accommodation. Beds super comfortable and the food was delicious. |But even above all this, the attention received by the personnel was the best. They were very kind and always looking for ways to make us comfortable. I specially value that they were also kind and willing to help with people around marrakech. We are travelling with our daughter and the staff was a great example of integrity and benevolence.

Riad El Cadi was the perfect place to stay during our time in Marrakech. Tucked away in the medina but still close to everything, it offers a calm and elegant atmosphere—exactly what you need after a day in the busy souks.||The staff were warm and welcoming, especially Khadija and Karim at the reception, who made us feel at home right away. Our room was beautifully decorated, with traditional touches and great attention to detail. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a real treat, and the inner courtyards are just stunning.||If you’re looking for authenticity, comfort, and great service, Riad El Cadi is an excellent choice.

Lovely Riad in the heart of the Medina. It is not high class or immaculate but doesn’t set out to be. |It feels shabby chic. Our room was quirky, it had a bed wedged in, a small sitting/dressing area and a little warren of a bathroom. |The highlight is the staff team. Nothing is too much trouble and they were just great. A mention for Saied, he walked us to and from a restaurant on our 1st night and just did everything with a smile. |Breakfast pretty good too. |Less than 5 mins walk from the main square and so quiet and peaceful. |Highly recommend.
