Location absolutely stunning. If you intend to drive up to Landmannalaugar, this is a perfect place to overnight. We did that but I wish we had more time, it is a lovely place by itself. Fully equipped kitchen, The beds are fantastic for a family, two bunks large enough for 3 persons each, so can easily fit a larger family too. Yes, the midges are an annoyance in summer, but that is not site-specific, close the windows and use a repellent and you are fine. The couple that runs the place are the kindest people. We stayed in the cabin but there is also a campground, but can't really write about that as we have not experienced that. Parking next to your cottage, convenient to offload and load the car.

Quiet place which unfortunately for us was ruined by the swarms of flies (June). The lady said with more wind it keeps them away but this was unbearable. Couldn’t open the car door without the car filling with flies. Stayed on a rooftop tent and waited for it to cool down late into the evening to set up but the morning was terrible. We got up and left as soon as possible to escape the flies. I’m sure with wind this is much better, campsite seems ok. Small room with a kettle and microwave, no pots or stove. Owner does a ‘minimarket’ where you can buy snacks and some basics for a meal. 4600 for two people no electricity, don’t think this included shower though, although didn’t stay around in the morning to see.

We camped here in our van (1700 ISK per person). Charming place but there is only one toilet and it's not very clean. You need to pay 400 ISK for the shower - it's fairly nice but the hot water takes some time to warm up and you only get 4 minutes. The facilities are a buy spread out as well (bathroom and shower in one spot, trash and sink in another area). Staff is nice but overall not a great campsite.

The owner is super nice and the place was beautiful! The landscape was amazing a lot of places to hike “near by”. The rivers is some meters away. The cabin were cozy and well insulated. You need to bring your own food because there is no store or restaurant near by. The owner sells some stuff but it is better to come prepared. I totally recommend this place if you would like a place to be relaxed and enjoy nature.

A uniquely beautiful place that is perfect for an overnight stay before a trip to Landmannalaugar or back. Whether in the huts or by camper (we were in campervan). LML is less than two hours from here, and you spend the night at the foot of Hekla. The hosts were totally friendly, the campsite was empty and a real insider tip. Showers and toilets available. Unfortunately there were a lot of flies here in June 24, so it was no chance to be outside. But it certainly depends on the season.

Nice, quiet camping, the fascilities are clean and well made. There is al drinking water and the staff is very friendly. If you come by tent you are shelteted because of the trees. There is also a warm place for you to cook

Stayed here as a 2 day stopover during our 6 day horseriding tour. Basic but very well kept and cosy place, wonderful surroundings! Don't miss out to take a dip in the river, weather permitting! It's definitely worth the experience and you can have a warm up shower after...

Beautiful place and very nice view. Friendly staff. Despite this, we did decided on arrival to not stay the night because there were so SO many flies. We opened the car doors twice shortly and there were at least 30 flies in the car. Not great for camping outside.
