Roatan Marine Park

They need to invest in proper protection for the coral reef. We stayed near Infinity bay and saw people stepping all over the coral. Unfortunately the worker in charge of protecting the reef is given no tools to do his job. He should have at least 2 more people working with him, a kayak, a whistle and a megaphone. If the reefs aren’t protected now there wont be much left with the cruise ships coming in daily and ignorant people stomping on a very fragile ecosystem.

My kids raised money to buy a buoy for the marine park. Nick took us out for the installation which was fun. I had never seen concrete poured underwater before. It’s name is Bella blue. Awesome dive site (I might be a little biased). Nick is wonderful to work with. We also did the lionfish hunting licenses too. Speared 10 fish. Fantastic class and the lionfish ceviche that we made was delicious. Thanks Nick

Visit to support the park and buy some clothes there to support park especially if u are a diver. Also they offer the Lionfish spearfishing course which is mandatory to hunt lionfish...they provide spear and offer course Mon and Wed at 4pm. Book ahead.

This is an information center for the marine park, where souvenirs are also available. There is another info center in West Bay, on Bananarama Drive. Both require support and donations to help protect the sensitive coral reefs surrounding Roatan.

Great place to spend some time and donations to learn about the reef. Fantastic work done by them to help keep the reef healthy.

Had a wonderful experience. The lady at the store was so pretty, knowledgeable, and helpful. Would definitely be back.
