A gem of the east bay and whole Bay Area. Beautiful sandy beaches, volleyball, bathrooms, picnic tables, bbqs available. There is even a spot to rent or take a board sport lesson. Amazing views of SF across the bay. The water is very shallow for quite a ways out so you can walk out pretty far in some spots.

Super fun beach with gentle waves. We went in from the Sand Castle picnic area section of the beach. The sand is soft and has some small rocks mixed in The beach slopes down to the waves. The edge of the waves have huge logs of Kelp and seaweed that are washed up, once you go beyond those, the water is clearer. The water is shallow for quite a bit of distance which is nice for families with smaller kids. We visited on a Sep Saturday and it was very sparsely crowded. There is a paved trail on the outside and this is a dog friendly beach. But we saw may be 2 dog families. There is a $5 parking fee, to be paid in the lot. There were bathrooms but no showers. Beach picks up some wind but it wasn't crazy for this time of the year. Lot of kite surfers and wind surfers in the water. Saw a few planes passing by which was a treat. LOTS of seagulls and pigeons on the beach, some kids were scared of them as they fly super low. But they didnt bother anyone. Overall, great beach with gentle waves and sand!

Love this beach. Family friendly. There's a place to rent sailing boards. A cool trail for joggers and walkers.

Robert W. Crown Memorial Park is a hidden gem for sunset lovers! The walking trail is perfect for a peaceful stroll, and the view of San Francisco across the bay is absolutely breathtaking. Though the park is small, the golden sunsets here are truly magical, making it one of the best spots to unwind and take in the beauty of the Bay Area. A must-visit for anyone who loves a stunning sunset!

The beach provided comfortable and protected conditions for paddling. The Marina on the northern end protects the beach from strong current and wind. Behind the Marina is a lagoon with homes and docks out front. You can paddle through and exit from the Marina to the outside of the breakwater. People were friendly and offered to help us load kayaks to our car tops. One person had a fold up Oru kayak that people were curious about. I saw family groups having gatherings. Easy parking in the park lot.

I drive from Stockton to come here and rest my mind. Also, there is a really good sushi restaurant across the street from the beach. Perfect place to relax.

Have walked here for 15 years. I'm always excited about the season changes and the chicks hatching around Easter time. So much nature. Beach and the grass areas are clean (but the Geese poop), which can be a lot sometimes. Swimming is mostly Ok, winter or summer, just have look for warning signs, should there be any algae etc. Check if it's a low or a high tide for swimming purposes, specifically with kids!

Best beach to take your dogs. There are a lot of dogs around for your dog to play with. Edit- editing to 5 star review. We just went to the east side of the beach last time. When you actually go in from the main parking lot, this beach has a lot to offer. A few hiking trails, bbq spots, plenty of parking spots. The water is calm and best for tubing with less to no waves. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and still this side of the beach was almost at full capacity. Maybe because you normally don’t get close to 90 degrees on late October. We hanged out around for the sunset which was amazing.

Yelp
Easily accessible state park and beach on Alameda island. Our family visited yesterday to attend my company's summer picnic, though it was in the 60s and windy. Which was great for the wind surfers and folks flying kites, less so for us picnickers! After paying the $5 parking fee (credit card only) we found our 30-strong group at the City View Picnic area, which had a beautiful view of San Francisco across the bay! Picnic benches were not clean, so we ate our food (delicious tacos!) standing up. On the plus side, there were trash and recycling bins, plus restrooms close by. Our family went for a stroll and then hung out at the beach for a couple of hours, as the sun finally came up after 1 pm and the wind died down. And we took lots of pictures!! Overall a memorable experience - would not mind returning if we are in the area.
