10 Best Brunch Places in Dublin | Condé Nast Traveler

"One of Dublin’s buzziest restaurants, Roberta's in Temple Bar first grabs your attention with its spectacular setting inside the 19th-century, steel-frame Dollard Printworks Building, a restored landmarked with arched doorways, brick walls, and unbeatable views of the River Liffey, both via the floor-to-ceiling windows and from the terrace. But head up a few flights of stairs and toward the bespoke atrium-style glass ceiling, and your focus will turn to Dublin’s cool crowd, all of whom seem to be settled into seats around the freestanding bar, or in cushy booths. They're here to enjoy the panoramic vistas and the lively vibe, which is accented by a DJ and dancing after 11 p.m. on the weekends, and to pick at porridge, pancakes, and Brekkie Pizza come brunch. Flag the waiter for a Whiskey Business and an avo toast, and you're set for the afternoon." - Sandra Ramani

Great experience! Went for my sister’s birth and they were nice to make her a surprise with a delightful dessert with a candle. The ambience is great and the place is beautiful. Not as many options for brunch as I’d like to, but food was tasty.

This is a really good place with good food and a great ambiance. Great options. I tried there Burrata, Roasted Sea Bass, and Vegetarian Pizza, and everything was good. I highly recommend the Sea Bass, and I will come back for it. It was my friends birthday so they got us Chocolate Cake Slice and that cake was really good. The interior of the restaurant is really pretty. They have a glass covered bar, and it looks pretty. Lots of tables. Restaurant is on 1nd floor and they have lift too.

We had really good expectation about the place; great atmosphere, the waiter was so polite but the food was really bad. Our pizza was stone cold, fries were barely heated and tiramisu was so dry for a tiramisu, probably one of the worst tiramisus and pizzas i have ever eaten outside. The kitchen needs improvement. The only good thing was aperol and coffee about our order. So disappointing.

Get lost in the side streets of the Temple Bar, and discover Roberta's. Great steaks (what a great peppercorn sauce), nice sides (highly recommend the garlic fries). Desserts were tasteless though.

Roberta's is a solid choice for dining, especially before heading out for drinks in the Temple Bar area. The burrata is particularly good. The steak was always good, though not exceptional.

Very nice and clean restaurant. The service was good, but they lacked staff, so it was a little long between server visits. The staff themselves were very friendly and did their best. We arrived early, and we're seated without issues. From then on, there was a constant stream of people arriving.

Really nice interior. Spacious, stylish, and modern but cosy atmosphere. Fast and pleasant staff. We had an Italian on board, and she said the pizza was excellent, and in fairness, that's the reason you got to an Italian place, to have an Italian dish. You don't go because they have a "cauliflower steak"... but since they have it on the menu, I would suggest they put some more effort and imagination into the dish. A piece of boiled cauliflower swimming in oil for 20 quid doesn't really cut it. Everything else was great, we had a lovely evening. Thanks

Google
5 stars for a great restaurant! Looking for a quiet atmosphere that wasn’t a pub! Pizza was great. Salads were great! The pasta everyone had tasted very good! Will definitely come back if we come back to Dublin and will tell others to come here!

Yelp
One of the most delicious meals I've had traveling. It was by complete fluke that we found this hidden gem near temple bar. They had such a diverse menu and all of the food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked incredible (including pizzas). The restaurant definitely has a European vibe so if you are American please remember you are allowed to take your time at dinner. Service isn't "slow" it's pretty standard over there. Everything we ate I would recommend. Pictured/labeled it all but this is a restaurant I've already recommended to colleagues that live across the pond. I had never had featherblade, and I will now be watching for it on menus. It was SO dang good, the meat practically melted in your mouth but wasn't too fatty in texture. I look forward to being back in Dublin and returning to Roberta's for another night out. PS if you want tiny pub to check out post dinner (and dessert) take a walk down to Anne's. It's not far and the place has less than 10 tables and great live music.

Yelp
Great food and excellent cocktails in a fun, open space. Would have given 5 stars, but chasing down servers and bartenders was difficult. Highly recommend if you are not in a rush and don't mind slow (almost non-existent) service.

Yelp
Food good. Service not so much. It's a huge place with a great vibe but doesn't seem like management has the employees working very efficiently. Everyone runs all over doing everything. Our service was terrible.

Yelp
A beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Dublin. Food is gourmet, staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I had the best cocktail of my life, the Clover Club, and it was just as beautiful as it was tasty. Amazing first dining experience in Dublin!!!!

Yelp
Had dinner here tonight. The food was mediocre at best and the service was very slow. 20 minutes wait for a drink could not wait to leave n get my check. Restaurant was full of twenty something's who don't know better what they are eating. The drinks cost the same as the food. This place is best avoided!

Yelp
I'm assuming Roberta died years ago leaving a beautiful space and a couple of nice servers. Unfortunately she never taught the lazy slobs in the kitchen how to cook. Pizza was undercooked. Everything else was anything but Italian. Closer to chef boy Ardee with red pepper flakes. Shrimp tasted very fishy which generally means it's been sitting out since lunch. And for the price it's just bad. Have a nice romantic drink and gtfo.

Yelp
We decided to try this new place out recently (the entrance door is beside the porterhouse on east Essex street) and after you climb the stairs (lovely smell of fresh wood) you enter the restaurant and are greeted by friendly staff who show you to your table. We had reserved a Liffey view table which was nice & bright but the noise level is somewhat higher than if you eat in the other area which has lovely seating. The bar area is within a impressive bright atrium type area and there is a separate smoking area under a canopy accessed through a door. There's a good cocktail selection and good wine list. Food wise we tried three starters: all were lovely especially the oxtail potstickers & oysters presented three ways. The mains: lamb with aubergine was fantastic & the sirloin steaks were chargrilled cooked and had lovely flavour. The desert list didn't excite us enough to try.

Yelp
Well it wasn't the worst pepperoni pizza I've ever had. It certainly wasn't the best. They weren't the worst fries I've ever had and, likewise, they weren't the best. The salmon and crayfish starter we started was pretty ok, the Albariño we shared was excellent as was the port and cheese we had at the end. What made the evening excellent, apart from the company, was the great buzz and all round ambience of a great location and room. Service, to be honest, was barely adequate but didn't really take away from the evening. Would I come back? Probably. Would I rave about Roberta's? Probably not. It's not the worst meal I've had all year, it just wasn't the best.

Yelp
I love space that Roberta's occupies; there's a large glass greenhouse bar area in the middle, and dining on both sides. One of the dining areas has a great view of the river! Seeing pubs and mediocre food everywhere, Roberta's is a small oasis that has a nice casual elegant atmosphere and enjoyable food. I had the mushroom pasta and it was a pleasant surprise. I thought it would be just another boring pasta dish, but it came out al dente and had good layering of flavors. Was it NY/SF quality? No, but that's not a fair comparison. Oh, and did I mention the desserts all sound great and taste even better? The only aspect that bothered me a little was the service. Our waiter(s) kept switching up on us during service, and neither was particularly friendly. In fact, at one point we asked the waiter what one of the components in a dessert was, and he refused to tell us ... to prevent us from making it at home?

Yelp
Bad nite. Unhappy with food, service, cocktails poor, coffee cold. Fully charged after a few complaints. Wont be back.

Yelp
Empty tables everywhere for brunch but apparently kitchen was constrained so we could only get pizza in the bar area. Ignored by the bartender repeatedly. Finally ordered our pizza (just ok, by NYC standards anyway) and two minutes before it comes out a manager says we can sit in the dining room and order from the full menu. WTF? Disaster.

Yelp
We felt like trying somewhere new and had heard good things. So my colleague and I stopped in for dinner rather early (say about 5ish) one weekend night. It started well, no wait for a table, we were led to the back past the impressive looking bar area. I got a cinnamon and sage old fashioned, she got something involving gin. My drink was nice but I couldn't really get the cinnamon and sage flavour. I got a starter and a side instead of a main as I wasn't all that hungry and it was still a challenge to finish the two. So I got the beef cheeks starter which came on a bed of celeriac purée. It was so incredibly well done- the meat was perfectly seasoned and basically falling apart tender, the celeriac was a creamy accompaniment. The side was roasted mushrooms with grilled artichoke hearts and asparagus in a cream sauce. The flavors and textures combined beautifully and it was incredibly rich! My friend had the duck pizza which she said was gorgeous. We didn't have any room left for dessert. Service wise, it started out great, but then that server disappeared and a new came in, which is a bit odd. Every other table was given a carafe of water, we never even got refills! The food was dropped off in a hurry, then we had to flag someone down to ask for wine. Overall, lovely place, nice vibe, delicious but rather overpriced food and spotty service.

Yelp
Beautiful venue. Terrible service. I went with a group of 6 for a special occasion in December. It is a gorgeous restaurant and it was bustling with people and atmopshere. However it was probably the worst service that I ever received in a restaurant. The server was clearly disinterested being there. Server was slow to take order of prosecco to start. He then took our food order. He was slow to come back to check on us or to take our wine order. We had to chase him down to order the wine after the meal came. The food was nice but would have been nicer if we had glass of wine to accompany. Server came back to take our dessert. When we asked him what the chocolate special was like e.g. cake , mousse etc. He simply said that they had introduced new menu and he did hadn't been in since to see it. There was no offer of finding out which we requested him to do. We had to ask a couple of times for our check - from hostess and different server before it finally came. Might be a nice place for drinks but I wouldn't rush back for meal.

Yelp
There's a 4 cheese pizza with blue cheese on it that is AMAZING! All the food here was good. And this place is seriously cool.

Yelp
Good place, I absolute love the decor and the vibe. However the food I got a bit of mixed experiences, I got the oxtail for starter and it was delicious then the main course was linguine with shrimps and clams, I ate half of it.. it did not taste good at all, it tasted like fish in a bad way. My fiancé got goat cheese and chorizo for starter, which also not good, however his pizza was really good! So mixed feelings, I left the place thinking "next time maybe just drinks"

Yelp
Great staff and service. Starting with the barman who made a cocktail that wasn't on their menu to the waitress who sent out gluten free bread to our table when they realised I was gluten intolerant. The food was delicious and we had a lovely catch-up and weren't rushed out despite being the last people there. I would highly recommend coming here for dinner and drinks.

Yelp
Gorgeous venue, mediocre at best food. Ordered steak medium, came out well done as in zero pink in the center , had ice cream Sunday for dessert that had been pre made and put back in the freezer so that there was huge ice lumps in the ice cream, come on guys?! Also we had sparkling water for the table that was basically flat and we ordered three bottle that were all like this so not just a dud. It's a shame the food majorly lets this place down because the overall vibe is very cool. I'd say coming here for drinks is a good bet but maybe get dinner elsewhere.
