Robin Hood Statue

One not to miss while visiting Nottingham, this bronze statue, completed in 1952, occupies a prime position at the foot of the castle wall. Robin Hood is depicted aiming his arrow at the nearby castle gatehouse, and is accompanied by smaller sculptures of Little John, Friar Tuck, Alan A Dale and Will Scarlett. This part of the city is one of the most interesting, with the castle towering above, attractive buildings opposite and the caves nearby.

Bumped into Robin Hood today. Honestly, pretty chill guy. Found out our dads went to high school together. Thought he was gonna shoot me for a sec but he was just showing me his new 360 noscope strat. Good banter, nice face, even nicer boots.

If you are in Nottingham, it's something you really have to do I guess. We were expecting a huge crowd to be there being school holidays, but no. Easy to get some good pics.

Seems like it shouldn't be classy but it is. Situated near the castle and right next to the castle gate with some great places to drink and eat nearby. Go along, get your picture taken, help others get their picture taken.

We’re just glad that the statue is not in the castle and free for everyone.

Nice stop off point to enjoy a drink and snack, while checking out the statues near the castle grounds entrance The statues have been repaired and well maintained, the location is quite friendly and with plenty of seats to rest tired legs, also not far from great eateries, pubs and the Victoria centre shopping centre
