We stayed in a lovely, very clean and spacious room with a balcony overlooking the pretty garden. The room had the best mosquito net we have come across as well as air con. The only downside is that we couldn't get the hot water to work - we discovered on the last day that there was a switch to turn the hot water on, located in the closet! (If you have the same issue ask the owner - the young guy we asked didn't know where it was but he was new and the switch was pretty well hidden). Breakfast was ok but very basic. There was also a nice, small pool although we didn't end up using it. This hotel is a couple of streets back from the beach but it's only about five minutes walk. My advice would be to bring a torch - the streets are very dark at night (common across Gambia, not just here) and although we felt very safe it was handy to have a torch to walk on the sandy and uneven road at night so we didn't twist our ankles!
The owner, Omar, is a lovely man and was very helpful when we arrived (we originally booked to stay at The Atlantic Residence but they had a problem with a leak so transferred us to Roc Heights).
