Stayed a few nights and found the bedroom very clean, spacious (could be a little lighter), had a very generous fruit basket as a welcome touch. The staff was very helpful and polite and the breakfast was simple and enjoyable on the verandah with some daily variety on offer.The decor in the spacious lobby, the luscious garden as well as walking distance from the beach are the major selling points for this boutique hotel. Be prepared to eat out since the main restaurant is being refurbished. Would certainly stay there again.

The room was clean & spacious plus I had a view over the pool & gardens. |Breakfast is included too. |It's only a 5 minute walk to restaurants & cafes & a little further to the beach. |What makes this hotel special is the staff always happy to help & friendly too. Gives the place a homely feel. |Would happily stay here again if I returned.

I stayed at Roc Heights for two weeks during a work-related visit to the Gambia and very much enjoyed its quiet and relaxed atmosphere away from the bigger hotels. The guest house is conveniently located close to UN and World Bank offices, but is only a short taxi ride away from the more touristy areas around Senegambia. Rooms are very clean and spacious. WiFI is available throughout the building (though patchy in quality). The manager Omar offers much appreciated pick up and drop off at the airport, and is always available to provide advice and help. Breakfast is basic but fine, and there are a number of good restaurants close by. I enjoyed my visit at Roc Heights and would stay there again.

I was here for 10 days and really enjoyed it. The place is very nice. Staff are polite and helpful. Never had a frown or grouchy face. And location was quiet but convenient to get around.

Enjoy a buffet of breeze and birdsong at cozy Roc Heights Lodge, where multi-talented Omar welcomes guests with warm sincerity. In the morning, you can enjoy a simple breakfast with joyful birdsong filling the garden. There is African art in every corner of this lodge. It feels like an art gallery when you start to notice the details. The lodge are also trying to encourage care for environment and the community. Nice place. Free water in the rooms (which is standard at this price), and bit more for breakfast would make it a 5.

A nice place. Friendly staff. Diligent cleaning. Good Internet. A working AC. Good mattress. Clean sheets and towels. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in a lovely, very clean and spacious room with a balcony overlooking the pretty garden. The room had the best mosquito net we have come across as well as air con. The only downside is that we couldn't get the hot water to work - we discovered on the last day that there was a switch to turn the hot water on, located in the closet! (If you have the same issue ask the owner - the young guy we asked didn't know where it was but he was new and the switch was pretty well hidden). Breakfast was ok but very basic. There was also a nice, small pool although we didn't end up using it. This hotel is a couple of streets back from the beach but it's only about five minutes walk. My advice would be to bring a torch - the streets are very dark at night (common across Gambia, not just here) and although we felt very safe it was handy to have a torch to walk on the sandy and uneven road at night so we didn't twist our ankles! The owner, Omar, is a lovely man and was very helpful when we arrived (we originally booked to stay at The Atlantic Residence but they had a problem with a leak so transferred us to Roc Heights).
