Rocambolesc Gelateria

My wife and I love gelato and ice cream and we visited this place because it had good reviews and is supposedly award winning. The ice cream wasn't anything special. I had "birthday cake" and caramel in a cup. Both were pretty bland. My wife had chocolate and vanilla with a few toppings. She was not impressed either. I don't understand how they could award a Michelin star to this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice but nothing compared to typical ice cream shops in America.

A day without gelato is sad. So after walking the whole day before heading to the train station back to Barcelona, we had to have one to share.. if you are in Girona, a must have. Don’t miss it 😎

Lovely ice cream shop with lots of choice. Enjoyed the golden hand of Jamie Lannister ice cream. Only 4* as expensive.

Unique ice creams, they have a 6-8 figures as well as a lot of flavours of traditional ice cream. There is no place to sit inside. The price for a figure is 5€

Dropped by here by googling. The reputation was highly nice, so decided to taste ice cream. As you see, style is quite different compared to the one you have known. To be honest,,,there is nothing special with lots of toting. The only one what made me impressed is original basic ice cream taste. I have never tasted this kind of nutty vanilla ice cream. I’d like to strongly recommend you to have basic taste.

In my opinion it’s a must visit place. It was recommended to try the Brioche. Honestly I expected a soft brioche and it was not. But I liked the freshness and combination of all the other creations. One point of criticism is the packaging. Of course, the ice cream is priced higher and you want to emphasise the experience with the packaging. But it is not contemporary and simply a waste of resources. I am sure that it is possible to be more environmentally friendly.

We got to Rocambolesc around 12 pm and it took us about 15 minutes to get our ice cream. We ordered off the recommended list and got baked apple ice cream with boiled apples, caramelized apples, and butter cookies and vanilla ice cream with caramel crunch, chocolate cake, and cocao sauce. My dining companion enjoyed the vanilla ice cream recommendation and I loved the baked apple ice cream. It had a really good apple flavor and all the recommended toppings complimented the apple ice cream. The only thing that would have made it better would be more butter cookies! Definitely recommend stopping here when in Girona.
