Rocco's Burgers Dogs and Fries

Scrappy place but they make the best burgers. Far better than Five Guys and at a more reasonable price. I got the lunch special for $9.99 which include burger, fries, and soda. The burger was awesome. The fries were okay. Service was fast. And the place was pretty clean. I'd definitely go back - for the burger.

Went here once during the pandemic and remember liking it. Finally made it back this afternoon. It was excellent. The dogs were deep fried and delicious. I might just do mustard next time instead of all the way. The French fries may be the best I've had anywhere. So many fries too. The order was more than enough for my 16 year old daughter and myself. The young man at the counter was very friendly and accommodating. An all<around great stop.

I visited Rocco's on Friday February 13th, 2 weeks ago. I entered Roccos and I asked for a table for 3 and the guy at the front just did a quick nod and we sat ourselves down. I have 3 bullet points to discuss, 1. We were not acknowledged when we entered, 2. The guy didn't bring the menus to table, 3. We arrived at about 11:45am and when I asked to order breakfast, his exact words were; oh no we are not doing that, breakfast menu ends at 12 noon. I never argued and instead attempted to engage with the worker in an amicable manner but he never even apologized or acknowledged that it was not noon time yet and they could have made an exception since we were the only ones in the restaurant. Then he stated that there is no way the cook is going to make breakfast for us. The guy at the counter was rude, seemed racist since we were a Hispanic family, and obviously should not be working at the front counter. He has no social skills and has no idea how to diffuse a simple scenario regarding breakfast vs. lunch menu. I was so pissed off that day so I simply told my family let's go and find another place to eat where we are appreciated and most importantly acknowledged when we enter the business. I really don't think the cook even knew what had happened. This front counter guy just took it upon himself to make a critical decision that would negatively impact my customer experience. I really hope that the owner has a discussion with this employee and even considers firing him. I hope and pray that no one experiences this if you decide to visit this horrible restaurant. The only thing more important when visiting a restaurant for the first time is your initial greeting and customer service experience. One last thing, if this restaurant is mainly for takeout then don't have tables and announce it by signage as soon as you walk in to the establishment. Please confirm you have received and acknowledged this review and your steps to make your employees accountable for there actions. Good luck with your business but I will make sure everyone here's my experience.

Came her for a quick dinner since we have been passing this often. Food: ordered burgers, wings, and fries. The burgers were exceptionally good with fresh jalapeños on my bacon cheeseburger (placed underneath the burger!) and the wings were deceivingly good (buffalo garlic), albeit with no significant sauciness to it. The fries were good, but I can’t fully comment as I am not a big fan of peanut oil. Service: the woman who was working non-stop was the only one serving and the food did take some time, but it looks like they have a lot of to-go orders so may be busy. Aesthetic: looks great with the classic diner vibe, wish there was a little bit more wall art or “flavor” to the place.

Our party had several different burgers and they were yummy. Decent-sized fresh-made patties and well-melted cheese. Next time, I will ask for a toasted bun. The service was quick. My daughter really liked the double cheeseburger.

Awesome old school burger joint... Delicious burger and perfectly cooked deep fried Texas Weiner hot dog. Fries were on point as well. Pretty cool that they use Peanut Oil as well.

Stopped by for a quick bite. Burgers were AWESOME and huge! Fries are out of this world! The fries are shoestring fresh cut and fried to perfection. I am not a coleslaw fan and even that was good. Food is definitely worth the price and their prices are very fair. Definitely would come back to try other food.

Cleaned up version of an old fashioned dinner from the aluminum siding era jersey stop. Breakfast till noon, daily specials, decent parking. Things that really matter. Tried a bacon burger (huge) and a Mexican dog (interesting chili) along with their special which was sliders. Meat was cooked just right, pickles nicely cut and the fries... The fries were perfect ceviche and not greasy. Their coleslaw was a surprise. They got banana pudding, so be on the lookout for specials. Lastly, price to portion ratio remove me of a time when 15 bucks filled your car up. Really freaking good.

Had the chance to stop in to Rocco's in Kenvil, NJ after a few people tipped me off to it being a really solid spot. Decided to grab a deep fried Thumann's dog that they call a splitter (or a ripper if you're into NJ lingo) with chili and cheese, some fresh cut fries (fried in peanut oil), and a bacon cheeseburger. The server at the counter was a very nice and helpful guy. I enjoyed the surroundings, kind of like an old school diner feel to it with booths and a counter with stools. The hot dog was really solid. This was one of the better chili's that I've had, especially this far west in Northern NJ. They used cheese sauce which I personally prefer for a chili cheese dog. I know its lower quality than using shredded cheddar or something but it's just nostalgic to me and makes me think of some great chili cheese dogs from my youth. It's tough to beat a deep fried Thumann's dog too, but in this case it was fried in peanut oil which I personally feel gives it an even better flavor. I would for sure order this dog anytime I'm at Rocco's. The fries were excellent. When a fresh cut fry is done well, it's just something of beauty. I have had them so many times from places where you could tell they didn't do a second cook so they aren't quite the proper "doneness" or they soaked them too long/not enough. These were cooked properly and seasoned well. They also didn't have as much grease to them as a lot of other fresh cut fries I've had at other places. The Bacon cheeseburger was also delicious. You can tell they use a high quality beef and the bacon was also cooked to my liking. I added lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo, and ketchup. This was one of the better burgers I've had in quite some time. If I could only choose one when returning, I would have a really hard time deciding between the dog and the burger. Great food at an affordable price with enjoyable customer service. It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway) that Rocco's in Kenvil - Didn't Suck!

I'll first start out by saying that I am very local to this place. I could have potentially been a regular. But food and service have been an issue on multiple times now. Now I know why when I pass this place 5-7 times a week during peak lunch and dinner hours, the parking lot is usually somewhere between empty and almost empty. Ambiance: It's a diner of sorts. Nothing special. I don't care about ambiance of the food is good. This place is supposed to be great burgers and fries and the like. The ambiance fits that. This is why they got over 1 star. It goes downhill from here. Service: They used to have a a breakfast menu. Not sure if they still do. But I called one time and got a Hispanic woman on the phone that COULD NOT TAKE A PHONE ORDER. Her English was atrocious. I tried to order a Taylor Ham, scrambled egg and cheese on a roll. That proved very difficult for her. After trying to explain to her for 3-4 minutes that I was not looking for "escrambled egg and toast" I gave up. I chalked it up to bad help and figured the issue would resolve itself over time. Food: Today, I decided to try again. This time I tried ordering online to avoid language barrier issues. Being that it was afternoon, I order 6 buffalo wings and Rocco's loaded fries. The delivery (Door Dash) was impeccable. The food was ready quickly and door dash delivered within minutes. But what I got was borderline e disgusting. 6 wings with absolutely no flavor...at all. Sitting in a pool of grease. It was disgusting to look at. They also charged me 75 cents for a tiny little thing of blue cheese. I don't care about the price. Could have charged double or triple. But give me a useable amount. And they weren't charging for an extra one. They charged extra for the first one. These were probably close to the worst, if not the worst, wings I've ever had. The fries were mediocre at best. Maybe my fault for ordering them for delivery. Or possibly there fault for not being smart enough, or care enough, to vent the lid. But the tasteless greasy wings is, in my opinion, unforgivable. Do better for you future customers...I won't be one, but maybe you can save your business.

I drove by this spot a few times and always wanted to check it out. When you walk into Rocco's Diner you're greeted with a friendly hello. It not a large place; they have a counter bar, a few booths and a couple of tables. The menu offers a variety of burger, hotdogs, and sandwiches options, to satisfy a wide range tastes. I came in here for their breakfast, but they just stopped serving at 12pm...online showed a 1pm stop...there's always next time! So I looked at the lunch menu items. I opted for their bacon cheeseburger, and it was great! The patty was perfectly cooked to my preference (well done) and topped with a generous amount of melted cheese, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Also, served with a small side of coleslaw. The ambiance of the diner is cozy and inviting, with friendly staff who ensure you have a pleasant dining experience. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meal, Cheeseburger Diner hits the spot every time. Definitely a must return visit and next time it'll be for their breakfast. Just need to remember to get there before noon.

First, this was one of those moments when you place your order and then you get to the drink and order a Diet Coke. Followed by the immediate thought that this person must think I am crazy! Rocco's was a nice diner type setting that seemed like a family business. Ordered enough to feed a small family, but it was just me(see pics). For those complaining about expensive fast food burgers find Rocco's. $20 for all this food. Food was great for what it is, no holds barred fat cramp. Definitely recommend you stop by if in the area.

I've been hearing about Roccos for few years now, but only took the opportunity to visit today for the first time. We took advantage of their online ordering system, and the menu was clearly laid out and easy to follow. My wife and son got single hamburgers, I ordered the double with cheddar cheese. We all asked for onions, pickle, lettuce and my son ordered his without tomato. His came with tomato and mine was covered in horrific American Cheese, which I detest. Neither had pickles on them. I would give 2 stars to the line crew who couldn't get any of that right. It was a bit busy, but no so hectic to make so many errors. The two burgers were a tad salty tasting, but something went wrong with my wife's as it was very sodium rich. We couldn't figure it out, and she gave it to me after a few bites. She did not ask for a topping that could explain why hers was so salty. The burgers were large, however, and definitely a meal. Buns were fresh, patties had substance. As a side note, the app does not have a function to order cooking temp, so I guess everything is prepared "medium well." That's how our burgers came out, anyway. The fries lived up to the many reviews I've read about - one large order was more than enough for three people. The onion ring order was a bit disappointingly small, not enough for two really. Next time we know, but the rings were perfectly cooked and quite tasty. No napkins or condiments in an order to go was surprising, but perhaps you have to grab your own. In all honesty, we didn't look. The place was really clean, nicely laid out, and next time we'll eat at their spacious counter for sure. I could easily give five stars here and will edit my review if my second experience gets the details correct. I just can't stand American cheese, and it ruined my first experience. I've heard some people compare it to Five Guys in the past. Here's my take on that - Five guys has an edge on taste for the burgers, but Rocco's fries blows theirs away and they are not soggy. Five Guys bill would likely have topped $55-60 for what we got, and this was $37 including the Governor's portion. That's really not so bad for that amount of food. We will be back for sure, love to give my money to a hard working independent owner over a chain any day of the week.

I love they burgers cooked too perfection never over do. Nothing over powering you taste the blend of flavors that's forms very good aftertaste on your palette.

It's the perfect fast food, that reminds me of the mom and Pop shops, when I was young before franchises (alla Jim's burger haven)! If you order, Five Guys, or any of those franchise places over this, you're really missing it. You can put the food side-by-side with one of those, and it's not even close. Best around! PS Cuban is fit for two, and the fries/onion rings are ridiculous.

A damned good cheeseburger, tasty handcut fries, plus friendly attentive service. My girlfriend's Philly Cheesesteak wasn't bad either.

Soooo good. I've been craving a burger and hot dog for a while! So my fat booty got both! Hahha It was a lot and now I feel like I have heartburn but it was amazing. Inside the restaurant looks like something out of the 70's. I loved being taken back to a time period when small burger joints use to look like this. I hope they keep this decor forever! The cooks and the lady in the front was very nice and welcoming! Definitely going to be back with friends!

I go to Rocco's at least once a week and I have always enjoyed it. This past Thursday I was there with friends at approximately 5:30 and I was very unhappy withe everything about- I was very surprised - the tables were dirty- when I asked the waitress to clean it she was very terse, simply sprayed cleaner on the table- center only and give it one "wipe"- it was still dirty- everyone's food at my table was cold- hot dogs, French Fries- stone cold- it was terrible. Never expected that of Rocco's will not be going back

A great place to eat with excellent food and service. I have been here three times and intend to lunch here again and again. If you're lucky, you will get Dale as your server. He is friendly, professional and very efficient. This little diner beats out many of the eateries in the area. I love it!

Good food with classic meals and portions. Wait time was average, not too fast or too slow, but everyone in my family was satisfied. Philly cheese steak is amazing. Willd go back.

Best burger I have ever eaten burgers or fresh pressed they're not frozen french fries are all hand cut and deep-fried in peanut oil. The deep fried hotdog was the best. My husband said that he has had awesome place. Everybody needs to stop by. Also, our server Dale was very knowledgeable and very friendly.

Meh. My expectations were high when I ordered the Italian hot dog. Think Jimmy Buff's, Dicky Dee's--fried hot dogs on slightly greasy (but delicious) bread, sautéed peppers onions, mustard, ketchup, and potatoes--mouth-watering to any North Jersey native that knows a good Italian hotdog. This was not it, not even a little, so DO NOT order the Italian hot dog friends, it's not what you think. The hot seemed boiled and the bread was flimsy, I can't remember the rest. Regular hot dog with basic toppings, fine--stop there.

Rocco's Burgers, Dogs and Fries is a great place to go when your body and soul are hungry for simple, no pretense food, the kind of food that you ate more accustomed to eating at simple, roadside type places. As the name would apply, Rocco's Burgers, Dogs and Fries puts a focus on the American classics like hamburgers, hot dogs and French fries. Be advised that they give you a lit of French fries. You won't be leaving here hungry. Great hot dogs and the chili only make them better. Burgers are very good, also. Pretty much nothing on their menu is a wrong choice. I woukd definitely recommend this establishment.

First time here, the food I ordered for myself was good but what my Dad had ordered was missing things. I got a bacon cheese burger with grilled onions and mushrooms with a side of chili fries. Both the burger and chili were flavorful but I don't care too much for shoe string fries. My dad got a bacon burger with tomato and of course the bacon was missing from his sandwich as well as a BLT sandwich which was then also missing tomato's. I'd definitely go again when visiting but my Dad said if you mess up a BLT with the ingredients in the name he won't be back

I've seen Rocco's opened for a few months now and have been looking for an opportunity to stop in. Today, I had the chance to have lunch there. This is the location of the old Kenvil diner. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean this place now is. The new owner clearly did a lot of work making sure the restaurant was modernized. The menu is mostly what the name says... burgers and hot dogs. They do have all day breakfast though. I went for the combo of cheeseburger, fries, and a small drink. The burger was very good and served with a mountain of fries! The server here was so friendly and attentive. Great customer service which really matters. If you're in area, give Rocco's a chance!

Wonderful, highly personable waitress here. Food is quite good and well-priced. Cool vibe to the place, too, nice decor. It's worth a stop! Go and enjoy.

I've passed this place many times and finally took the plunge. It was definitely worth the stop. I had a bacon cheeseburger, fries and drink for less than the cost of a Big Mac meal. And it was infinitely better. I had to wait a while for the burger to be cooked as food is cooked to order here. It was delicious. The fries are shoestring, but fresh not frozen so they attain that really dark color that a frozen fry just can't reach. I will definitely stop by more often.

We have been to Rocco's numerous times and have brought others but will have to reconsider in the future. This Friday night the service was horrendous. The waitress (?) stood at the counter and expected us to loudly tell her our order, which was done incorrectly. During our time she got a phone call and went into the bathroom to talk, in the meantime our food was delivered by one of the cooks. Unfortunately it was incorrect and when she finally came out of the restroom we were never asked about our food. The order was incorrect and it took awhile for us to get her attention to let her know we were still waiting for an additional meal. To say it left a bad taste in our mouths is not enough. She did take the incorrect and missing meal off the tab.

This place was great! Portion sizes were huge - the large fries was a literal bag of fries! My husband and I tried the burgers, fries, Rueben hotdog, and vanilla malt milkshake. Everything was good - lots of toppings on the burgers and plenty of sauce. I still can't believe how cheap this place was for the amount of food you get. Milkshakes use Cliff'S ice cream. You get a side of pickles and coleslaw with your burgers as well, and the pickles are so good - they taste like they might be homemade? Great spot!

I just moved to the area, from out of state, and was craving a good burger. Dammit, these people gave me one. Even with fries and a drink, the meal itself was cheap. Their hand cut fries were also *chef kiss* amazing. You get bang for your buck with this spot. The location and building set up is kind of odd, as in it's one of those places that you drive past and not even acknowledge or do acknowledge and think nothing of it. Do yourself the favor and acknowledge it. Thank me later. Also, due to covid it is only curbside pickup and delivery.

I was so incredibly impressed by how amazing this place was; for simple menu items each one is such high quality, fresh & prepared to perfection. The cheese steak was amazing, the hotdog was unreal how good it was, the cheese fries & onion rings were perfect, not greasy at all & I was so happy they had chocolate malt milkshakes on the menu, the service was excellent, the prices were great ;the atmosphere was cute, & super clean, this place is a complete diamond in the rough! I'll be driving the 30 minutes way more often!

Rocco's was good! I was debating between 4 and 5 stars, which is where I'd put the food quality, but settled in 5 because of the prices, which are fair, perhaps even a bit on the low side, unlike so many places inferior to this one. Seems like an old diner conversion. Standard Jersey style deep fried hot dogs but very well prepared and very good. Chili is a great texture and flavor even if I wish the flavor came through just a little more. Fries are excellent. Drink Refills are free. Onion Rings are quite good. They clearly use peanut oil, you can tell by how good the fried food tastes. Place is small, mostly small booths. If/when this place gets busier it will feel tight. With no one there when we went, it was great. We will absolutely be back.

Great food and portions. Didn't leave too stuffed but thoroughly satisfied. Had Cubano! Best ever!! Bacon cheese burger didn't let me down and prices are awesome!

Small place. Great service. Dogs are awesome. Double bacon cheeseburger too. Fries are better than onion rings. Inconsistent with coleslaw, chips. Chili isn't my favorite--kind of bland. But you won't find a better dog or burger in Morris County.

Solid cheese burger and fries! I will definitely be making this place one of my regulars. I am excited to explore the rest of the menu but will pass of the coleslaw next time as I wasn't the biggest fan. It was a bit to saucy for my preference. Workers were kind and attentive and the food was fast.

Everything I have tried has been delicious. Favorites are the hot dogs, they are meaty and cooked to perfection. Onion rings are crispy and the wings were amazing. I got delivery and the wings were still crispy. The best part is the price, you get hot, fresh delicious food for reasonable prices so you can keep trying new things.

A great little spot for burgers, hot dogs, and (double fried) fries. Portion size is good, and the food is delicious. There is a decent selection of breakfast dishes, too. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and efficient. Parking is easy, too. Go there!

Tried Rocco's for the first time today and it was a total winner! The deep-fried hotdogs were excellent and the hand-cut fries were outstanding. I look forward to trying their burgers next!!

Rocco's is a little different than what I'm used to. First trip in, I ordered a double Italian hotdog, and it came in a hollowed out keiser roll with two hotdogs, onion, peppers, and French fries. The next time, I ordered an Italian sausage sandwich. The sandwich came on a hoagie roll. The sausage is in red gravy, with onion and peppers. Not exactly what I'm used to. Service is quick and friendly. As far as ambiance, it's an older dinner.

Outstanding food. The hot dogs are top notch, fries are excellent and chicken tenders are great as well. You can't find a better hot dog in this area.

Rocco's Dogs is the BEST place for hotdogs/hamburgers/fries/etc. Not only is the food delicious & offer large portions, but their service is great! Katrina is the best server I have had. She always makes you feel at home. This is a great place to bring the kids for a yummy meal for a good price.

They make an exceptional burger. The fries are freshly made. The portion size is enormous. Their value meal, burger fries and soda, is an excellent value.

Every time we get dinner from Rocco's we are never disappointed! Food is fantastic! Definitely one of our favorite local spots!

I love the vibe in this please I want to thank everyone for being so professional. I love the old-fashioned milkshake and burgers so hot that is so need it now it gives you a positive feeling when you go there and management and the waitress are so friendly and real. I really recommend for you to please go and check out this place the food is phenomenal.

Wow - everything was Great! Awesome chocolate shake, the best onion rings I've had in years, delicious pickles and coleslaw, giant juicy burgers, great hotdogs and wings! So glad we finally tried Rocco's - we will be coming back again soon!
