Roches Family Hotel

Very rude and disrespectful publican and security guard. We were out celebrating two birthdays (18th & 19th), after enjoying meals and a few drinks the security guards comes and asks my grandson to leave. I inquired why only to be told it is none of my business it was a previous issue. We simply finished our drinks, got up a peacefully and left the hotel. On the way out the security guard said enjoy your evening. I responded we were until you came along. With that the security guard and publican called me some horrid names with a sexual content. My grandson said not to speak to an old lady that way and with that the publican and security guard started inciting my grandson. To his credit he kept walking. Knowing the same publican manages Roaches Family Hotel, The Royal Hotel South Grafton and The Australian South Grafton, I will no longer be a customer of any of these establishmemts. We were not causing any issues, when asked to leave we left. Never have I had supposedly professional people be so rude. Family Hotel .... I do not think so. Shame Roaches, shame.

very rude and unwelcoming chef. was very keen to order a T-Bone Steak for my partner for his birthday dinner… as we have ordered this the chef offered his unwanted remarks,”is it ordering a steak on a T-bone night HAHAHA” this not only made myself and friend embarrassed but uncomfortable. poor service so disappointing. do better

Just finished a lovely lunch at Roaches. Tacos with barramundi, salsa and slaw, and they were delicious. In fact, the fish was the freshest and tastiest I’ve eaten in years - cooked perfectly. Totally recommend the food here, and the staff are helpful and friendly too. A most pleasant dining experience.

Beautiful old pub. Great meals at a fantastic price. Loved that we could sit in the beer garden, with our dog - added bonus.

Awesome food, has to be the best value and quality mixed grill available in Grafton area. Cooked to perfection 12 out of 10 for an excellent feed.

We were recommended the food so we ate a burger off the menu. It was delicious. The spicy hawaiian burger. Great flavour and cooked perfectly. Good venue, clean and tidy and friendly service. You should go.

One of the things that I have noticed in some of these country pubs is that the service really does seem to be quite half-hearted at times, particularly if you don't happen to be a regular. Yeah, in these places regulars aren't just known, but they are in fact a part of the furniture. This is what I felt when it came to this particular pub. Since I was from out of town there was really no need to actually show any real customer service. Honestly, I'll just pass on this one.
