Rock Art is my favorite family owned and operated Brewery in Vermont. Matt and Renee have created such an amazing brewery and local art hub for local artists to display and sell their art. It's also great the Brewery is 100% Solar Powered.

Google
I was buying some beers from Stowe Pour & Public house and realized I had purchased and really enjoyed 3 of rock art brewery’s beers. My family and I who frequently vacation in Stowe decided to stop by and it was amazing. The bartender is the son of the owner and incredibly personable and knowledgeable, you can tell he really loves what he does. The beer was so good and unique, there’s a beer for everyone there. The family’s story was so encapsulating, especially both the son’s stories in terms of working with the business. The artwork of the cans by one of the sons is amazing and they give back by representing over 60 artists throughout Vermont. We have vacationed in Stowe for 15 years and how we have never come across this place is beyond me. It’s truly a hidden gem and I would 10/10 recommend.

Google
What a great place! Friendly family owned brewery with a bonus-you’ll be greeted by the fabulous brew pup, Ridge! But there’s more—the beer is fantastic. Bravo on the Maple Wheat in particular. The place has games galore and PUZZLES! And it’s set up as an approachable art gallery for many local artists. Wow, this will be a regular stop once we are in VT full time!

Michael C.

Google
This was our second time visiting Rock Art and it was a highlight of our trip. We were not greeted by Ridge this time and we did not get to meet Cody, but we were warmly welcomed by Renee, Matt & Dylan and the beer was fantastic! The Blood Orange Radler was a favorite last year, the Pilsner Valley Lager was a hit this year as was the Maple Wheat Ale. Truly hard to pick a favorite. Keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll see you next year!

Google
Awesome family owned brewery!. Beer selection was great. Hats off to the owner who was bartending for recommending the most amazing local hike. We are in the area for our anniversary trip and wanted to do some hiking the next day. She described how one of their beers label was a the view from Long Trail look out point at the top of a "Ridge." It was amazing, as was the "Ridge Runner" beer! Even though we had zero vis at the top of the mountain, it was like being on the edge of the world, just surreal. Thank you so much, the hike make our trip!!!! On the way the out we purchased some beer cans and some art that was offered . 10/10 recommend

Google
Great family owned brewery. We enjoyed their beer and conversation. 2 oz. pours are a great way to find your favorite. Mine that day was the Ridge Runner Amber Ale. My wife doesn't drink much beer, but she also found one she liked. It is awesome that they are in their 28th year, and second generation. I hope it continues for a few more generations.

Google
Amazing place. Will 100% visit every time I'm back in the area. The owners were super nice and friendly. We stopped by on Sunday with our kids who really enjoyed playing with the dog that was there while we looked at all the art and talked to the bartender. I enjoyed all the beers, but their flagship IPA and helles were my favourites.favorites. We left with a couple of cases of beer and a bunch of art! Can't wait to visit again.

Google
Perhaps one of the most unique breweries I've ever been too. First off, the space is deceptively large with production in the back and 2 floors and multiple rooms available for hanging out. The amount of beers on tap were similarly impressive, with the options we tried crisp and tasty. The bartenders we interacted with were kind and congenial, and the brewery dog was very cute. The entire space is decked out in local art, filled with games, and buzzing with a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit!

Yelp
What a great Vermont brewery! Great vibe the art was really cool in the family run beer was really good. In my mind two types of beer. IPA and free. They brown ale they just started brewing again was awesome! Thanks for a great time.

Yelp
We were in the area visiting from Connecticut and were driving by and decided to stop in. Boy we are so happy we did. There was a great variety of beers with so many unique flavors offered. Our top favorites were the lemon gose, the peaches and cream ale and the blood orange. They offer this great option of trying small samples for a dollar. The brewery also features work from a lot of the local artisans. They have two floors to hang out and play games and just enjoy the day. The owners Renee and Matt are wonderful people, very knowledgeable and friendly. And they have the best employee, Ridge the brewery pup. If you're ever in the area or even if you're not, I highly recommend you stop in and check out this awesome gem. It is definitely worth it!!

Yelp
This is a family run business, they were all very friendly. Spoke with Mom and her Son the head brewer. They have some excellent beer! Brewer is very young, but extremely knowledgeable putting out some great beers. Just some munchies, not a restaurant. My husband wasn't big on the idea of going, it was a pleasant suprise. We thoroughly enjoyed Rock Art! Keep on Rockin!

Yelp
Not a lot of places are open on a Monday so in our search we found Rock Art Brewery and headed there from downtown Stowe. Quick drive and we were greeted by the owner Renee who was friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. We were also greeted by their dog Ridge who was the goodest boy! What we expected to be a quick tasting ended up being a two hour visit because of how much we enjoyed the conversation and beers. Their beers are full of flavor and truly delicious. The worst part was that we can't order and ship them home so took a few four packs with us and will have to make a trip back for more. Highly recommend Rock Art Brewery!

Michael S.

Yelp
Laid back environment. Friendly staff and great beer.front porch is a great place to enjoy the beers.

Yelp
What a cute place. They have a variety of beers and ciders available for sampling at a small price. Dylan was working the day we stopped in, and he was so helpful and patient with us with all our questions. He was super knowledgeable and made the experience that much better. We sampled a few beers and a Gose. I am not a fan of sours, but this one was very mild and something I could actually see myself drinking. I did buy some of their Rocktober Fest Marsen and a case of the seltzers to enjoy at home. They have lots of artwork on the walls, that are available for purchase. There is an upstairs which we didn't get to see. Thanks for a great visit!

Yelp
Belvedere IPA is sold out for the season but new and exciting IPAs are coming out! So conveniently located to pick up a four pack or 4 four packs to go! Just wish they get some good brats to complete the perfect happy hour location!

Renee L.

Yelp
Well behaved leashed dogs allowed outside! Bring your dogs by after a hike! I wish I could give this place another star! This is the perfect combination of beer and art. There is an entire art gallery inside/ upstairs supporting over 50 local artists. You can also take a look at the brew operation through big windows! The owner, Renee, was very friendly and even brought my dogs a bowl of water! There is even a food truck outside! 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Nice little place! We stopped in for a beer after a day of hiking and sat outside on the covered patio with our pup. Friendly staff. Good beer. Quirky art to browse as well! We would go back!

Yelp
Cool little place, but be aware it is a "tasting room" only. I had no idea what that meant when we walked in. But the server explained, they only did 2oz samples, no full pours of anything except on certain days because of their liquor license. I thought it was super weird, and honestly I've never been to a place with that kind of policy in place. But regardless we got some flights and tasted all the beers, some twice over and bought some to take home. Also be aware their take home selection is vast and they have a lot of different can sizes depending on the beer. We enjoyed all of them, just wish we could have been there on a full pour night. Nice staff, knowledgeable of the beers and local area. Cool local artwork being exhibited on the walls to check out as well.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Quaint, cute and one of the more unique places I've been. Beers weee good and fairly priced.

Yelp
Great beer. Average brewery. Prior to visiting VT, I had tried some of Rock Art's beers. I was a big fan of the Vermonster and their Black IPA when I tried them and was really anticipating my trip to the brewery. On my trip here, I was surprised that after walking through the door, I was the only visitor in the whole place. You have your choice of sampling 4 or 8 samples of their beer on tap. I chose 4 as I was planning to visit another brewery later that evening and didn't want to get too buzzed. I sampled their Hourglass amber ale, Saison black currant, Simcoe IPA, and Ridgerunner Barleywine. All beers were excellent and I even decided to purchase a couple of bottles to go including their Maple Wheat and Gruit (brewed without hops) which also proved to be tasty. I know what you're thinking but yes, even the hopless beer was pretty good! The brewery/sampling area was a bit scarce. Eventually two other guys sat at the bar and sampled a few beers but that was about the extent of the excitement. No one was giving tours and no one really seemed to be paying attention to us except for the bartender, who was a nice guy, but didn't exactly seem like he wanted to be there. My final advice would be to check out Rock Art if you are in the area but don't go out of your way. Your beer experience will not be disappointing but don't come looking for a lively experience.

Yelp
Fun, friendly and tasty. I have driven past Rock Art but never stopped in, but when I found out dogs were allowed we stopped with our pooches in tow. The full fight was a great deal and we got to try every beer currently on tap. The no hops A River Runs Gruit was a nice surprise. Their Maple Wheat had enough of a hint of maple with out being too sweet. Our bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. The store had a nice selection of local crafts and food products. Certainly worth the extra drive if you are in Stowe.

Katie J.

Yelp
We stopped at Rock Art Brewery at roughly the same time as two other men, so the bar tender poured all of our flights at the same time and took the time to walk us through their beer. We were able to try Limited Access, Vermonster, Vermont Maple Wheat Ale, Sunny and 75, Black Current Saison, Mosaic Double IPA, Grapefruit IPA, Stump Jumper Gnarly Stout, and Sun Rocked IPA. I'm not normally a huge fan of IPAs and fall into the trap of *shrug*, yeah it tastes like an IPA - but it was interesting to taste a few different takes and notice some of the differences between the IPAs. Everyone there was very nice and it's a nice big sampling - so if you like tasting a little bit of everything, this is the brewery stop for you!

Jeff T.

Yelp
Must go! The pils that they make is my most favorite beer! Their internal operation can be viewed from the second floor. Their beers are excellent and very tasty. The art work is a pleasure to view while sipping on some delicious brews. The owner and her son are absolutely fantastic wonderful people!

Arielle H.

Yelp
We always like a brewery that allows you to try all the beers in a tasting that's not too much to drink. Art forward. Intimate setting. It is oddly on a main road facing a gas station, but the building itself is nice and comfortable to hang out at. Beer wasn't very cold but good nonetheless. Worth the trip if in the Stowe area

Yelp
Very good beer and an amazing friendly staff. They moved from their previous location which was a warehouse to a new facility with a beautiful tasting room & shop in the front with the brewery in the back. They had even planted hops by porch in the front recently and gave some roots to one of the other people who was visiting while I was there. So I ordered up a tasting which comes with a glass you can take home and started trying beers. The IPA was very good and had strong floral notes with a good hoppy bite to it. Not as strong as a West Coast one, but not your typical IPA. The Whitetail Ale was a slightly bitter light ale that was easy drinking, but nothing too special. Next was the Ridge Runner which was a light barleywine. Very flavorful with a nice chocolate finish. The last one was the American Red which was surprisingly malty and complex for a red ale.
google avatar

Jamie G.

Yelp
OMG I loved this place! They have a great brand new tasting room, with cute souvenirs and a nice bar area for tasting (and you get a "free" glass with the tasting). All were pretty good and decent beers (but I think I definitely loved the atmosphere more than I loved the beer!) We tried the: American Red: malty, thick flavor, like a red stout Ridge Runner: mild, barley flavor, chocolately Whitetail Ale: bitter, light golden color, crisp fruity flavor IPA: not too bitter/hoppy, lower ALC, flavorful, floral, bad bite, but drinkable The people there were very friendly, everything was clean and neat, and it was a fun experience. The lady there even gave some customers some hops from their garden to take home!

Yelp
Rock Art has some decent brews and if the staff is having a good day it can be a pretty good experience. We first showed up and you could tell the guys didn't want to be there. Granted it was cold and basically everything was shut down but I was glad they were open and I said it. "I'm not." was the response. Yikes, well I'll be out of here as soon as possible-after being told that the max was just one sampler-which is exactly half the beers they had available. I went in the next day and it was markedly better. The Ridge Runner is okay as is the Pumpkin Imperial Spruce Stout is just kind of well, I'm not a big fan of seasonal beers-pumpkin in Halloween or anything Christmas-y. Similarly, the Mountain Holidays in Vermont is okay. The Hourglass is all right. I will say though that their Sunny and 75 is really good. A lot better than most Witbiers-definitely more character than I expected. Their IPA though is pretty complex without being overly piney and their IPL is a really easy drinking beer that's flavorful without being overwhelming. A limit where you can't even get all their beers on tap is annoying but the unevenly grumpy service is what makes it suffer more.

Yelp
Visiting this brewery was a perfect experience! First we had some beer flights. They're a sample of four beers which was only $4. The beer was simply amazing. I recommend the Vermonter, the IPA and also my wife liked the Saison. We went on a tour which is really only sitting in one room and talking with an employee. This was so cool- I actually learned how beer was made and a lot of information on the process. The gift/retail store is great for any gifts and they sell so many different types of beer. I recommend this place for tourists and simply anyone who likes beer.

Yelp
Visited Rock Art Brewery on a recent trip to Smugglers Notch. My boyfriend and I each had a flight of beers. We went upstairs where we enjoyed some local artwork while playing a game of checkers. We ended up buying a 4 pack of Vermonster and the Limited Access IPA. Definitely worth a visit!

Bridget N.

Yelp
Quaint, charming brewery right outside of Stowe. Amazing selection of hand made arts and crafts! Enjoyed the maple wheat ale.

Yelp
Talk about a an AMAZING brewery in the middle of beer heaven-Vermont! One of the owners was on site, and she was insanely helpful and sweet soon as we arrived on property. The 2 guys behind the bar weren't just slinging beers at you - they loved to talk to you about Rock Art's beers, but more importantly talk to you about your love of beer... and what specific beers were there that would be a perfect fit for your liking. There is a viewing room, and brewery tours offered... A couple of tours arrived on site while we were there, so tended to get a bit crowded - but they bar tenders quickly filled their flights, and escorted them upstairs to a tour. I have been to SO MANY breweries... and I don't review them all. I just had to come on and review Rock Art - because of how nice ALL of the STAFF was, plus amazing beer, and a kick ass brewery! Sun powered too? Hippies delight. Side note... I had their beers at Sugarbush Brewgrass Festival, and Vermont Brewers Festival - on tap there too - just awesome. Cant wait to be back!

Yelp
If you are a craft beer fan and haven't meandered around northern Vermont lately, you're missing out. And this is one of those places you should definitely put on your radar! Rock Art has an incredibly reasonable tasting flight - you get to choose 4 beers from their constantly rotating selection. You can also purchase cases and growlers of beers for a reasonable price. My favorite of the ones I tried was the maple wheat. Vermonters love their maple and the flavor added to this bottle is no exception. Just a hint of sweet makes it the perfect fall drink. (Sorry, pumpkin spice) Staff is super knowledgable and friendly. They clearly know a lot about beer and are happy to share their passion with customers. Two thumbs up!
google avatar

Jeff D.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our time here. The bartender was very attentive and poured us a flight of all of the beers that they had on tap and walked us through each one of them, then had no problem filling my stainless steel growler with their awesome Mosaic IPA. My fellow MA beer geeks know that getting a MA brewery to fill your personal growler is a very hit or miss thing. They recently installed a full suite of solar panels and windmills and now brew everything with renewable power sources. They also try to source as much as many ingredients locally as they can. Definitely worth a stop.

Andrew J.

Yelp
Beers were delicious and the atmosphere was even better! Off the beaten path with amazing beers, beautiful art and incredible service! Will be taking home a 4 pack this time!
google avatar

Diana B.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place; it was the hidden gem of our Vermont adventure. We planned for Hill Farmstead (of course) but Rock Art Brewery was actually an unexpected delight and right up there! I'm in love with the lavender and chamomile Gruitt (which is surprising being a big hops lover) -- The owner was so lovely, they welcomed our pups, and we really enjoyed all the local art they had available. Definitely a must visit and we'll be back!!
google avatar

Olga M.

Yelp
I am not much of a beer drinker, but this place makes you want to be an enthusiast! They have a great variety from local favorites (IPA's) and ales!! So if you are not an expert and not sure want you want, no worries- staff is great! Super friendly and incredibly informed and able to guide you. Try it and ask for a tour!
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
This place is small but cute. They seem to be half brewery and half art/craft shop. The beer was OK - a few interesting ones (including a beer made with no hops!). Overall, the beer wasn't mindblowing but it was good. I'm more excited about the fact that they have local art on the walls and for sale. I'm always appreciative of companies/businesses that value local artists and artisans. I do wish this place had some sort of food (other than popcorn and jerky available at the bar). Even a small cheese plate would have been a nice snack option!
google avatar

Meghan S.

Yelp
This brewery was lovely. It was very small and intimate. The bartenders were very friendly and gave us a history on each beer on the flight. It was very quiet when we first got there, so they gave us a private tour. It was awesome. As it got busier they brought us back to the bar and we continued to learn more about the beer. They also had so many different souvenirs like wall art and openers and t shirts. It was a very unique brewery as far as breweries go but it was a great stop on our brewery tour!

Josh H.

Yelp
What a wonderful early afternoon stop. Beers are all well crafted, the art is local and wonderful. Happy to support a locally owned business, the beers all were excellent representations of their styles, and the can artwork (also done in the family) is fantastic! It's well worth the visit and we can't wait to try more of their beers!
google avatar

Megan E.

Yelp
This is a beautiful brewery with a lot of good beers on tap. For around 5 dollars you can get a tasting of 4 or all 8 for ten. Not at a bad deal at all. I didn't really love any of the beers, they were all pretty good but nothing that I would write home about. They did have a scotch beer that was really good, smelled like bourbon but was extremely smooth. They have a lot of cool stuff to look at, local pictures, artwork, snacks. It's good a really cool feel inside, and you can go upstairs for a self-guided tour. Im not going to lie though I've been to a lot of beer tours, I've been to a lot of breweries and there is something to be set about the people who are passionate about what they do. When I'm sampling beers and I'm not told anything about the beer except for the name then there's this feel that I could be drinking the beers anywhere, at anybar. I've gone to bars that provide me with more information about each beer then I got here. There was no menu that listed what the style, and type of hops or malts were. There was very little information provided. When prompted the server provided some information but it was general, and it lacked something. It's a great place to sample beer for a good price, but the experience could have been anywhere.
google avatar

Dirk S.

Yelp
Beers are great but the tasting room is underwhelming and they don't pour pints apart from one day a month, additionally charging a buck and change for a sample of beer is very Utahish...
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
Really nice, clean tasting and gift shop area. Tours are available, but we didn't go on one. Sample flights are available at the bar in the tasting room. Four samples are given. I don't remember the exact cost, but it was reasonable. Pretty much all of the beer is available to take home either through bottles (much easier when traveling) or growlers. The gift and merchandise area is a good size and includes glassware, clothing, beer (of course!) and some Vermont gift items.
google avatar

Liza M.

Yelp
3/27/10 Tasting with purchase of a $3 souvenir glass with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. tasted a good amount of their beers. nice people. small brewery. had out some great locally made jalapeno chips for munching.
google avatar

Jake R.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Great beer, laid back vibe. The owner is super sweet and knowledgeable about the beers. There is lots of interesting art to buy, like paintings, posters, pictures, and jewelry. Although you can only buy pints on Thursdays, you can do a sampler flight with generally sized sample cups. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend coming to check it out.
google avatar

Jon D.

Yelp
I never tried Rock Art prior to visiting their location. They've got a new tasting area complete with an attractive bar and about 4 or so taps. I was really impressed with their beers and it was cool to have one of the brewers pouring them. I was pleased with the selection and couldn't leave without buying a variety pack and some bombers. My only criticism would be that they need to re-order the beers in the tasting. I think it was the Vermonster in the middle of the line-up, a very strong and hoppy ale, that sort of dominated the next couple of pours after it. Maybe they need those wine-tasting crackers. I'm definitely sold on their beers though and wouldn't hesitate to pick up more.
google avatar

Johnny F.

Yelp
Great staff, great beer. The stop is well worth it to sample the wonderful beers on tap. Bring your growlers 'cause you'll definitely want to get a fill up here.
google avatar

Nate T.

Yelp
Rock Art is my favorite craft brewer in Vermont. I enjoy just about all their beers (with the exception of Sunny and 75). My go-to brews are the Vermontster, American Red and Ridge Runner. The staff at the brewery in Morrisville are very knowledgeable and super friendly. Awesome tours, great deal on tastings. Aside from the various brews they have on tap, they sell 22 oz. bottles of just about every beer they brew, either by the bottle or the case. If buying directly from the brewery you can expect to save about 2 bucks a bottle, compared to the beverage center prices here in Burlington. I was there this past weekend and they had buy one get one free cases. Score! Rock Art also sells other local products like Deano's Jalapeno Chips made in Hardwick, VT. Best snack on the planet! Very very spicy.
google avatar

Adam L.

Yelp
Driving aimlessly thru the VT countryside, we saw the Rock Art brewery and said, "What the hell, lets stop!" Though we missed the tour by about 15 minutes, we were still able to belly up to a tasting and have a lil self-guided tour. The new facility is clean and efficient, as mentioned earlier. For 4 bucks, you get 4 samples of beer (8 total on tap, if I recall) and a complimentary piny glass. Not bad! The beers range from misguided experiments (the smoked porter... I think it was a porter) to tasty ales. The retail store double as a mini-bar and even Vermony gift store. Hey, yknow what I love? How into Vermont everyone from Vermont is. Its super rad. We got some coasters, a 22 oz seasonal, two pint glasses, a self guided tour, and a few other odds n ends for less than 15 bucks. A great time.
google avatar

Ian J.

Yelp
Great beer, great staff, fun tasting room. They recently expanded and now have short tours of the facility at set times. Tasting room is larger... you have to pay for samples, but you get a "free glass," meaning you paid for a glass and some beer samples. It's a good deal, completely worth it. It's definitely worth stopping in if you're a beer connoisseur.
google avatar

Nick K.

Yelp
First off, I love Rock Art beer. My favorites are the Belverdere Big IPA, the American-Belgo IPA, the IPA and the American Red. Also, I'm really not a big fan of porters in general, but Rock Art's Midnight Madness smoked porter is one of the few I like. Tastings are free with the purchase of a glass and the tasting includes the 4 beers on tap in the gift shop. These rotate regularly as far as I could tell from my visits here. The tour here was one of my favorites so far. It was really amazing that all Rock Art beer is basically made by two people plus some extra hands on bottling days. The brewer who gave us our tour was really friendly and walked us through the brewery step by step explaining everything and answering questions. She told us the whole story about how the founders of Rock Art started out in their basement and then bought old fermenters from Vermont Pub & Brewery and finally worked their way up to what Rock Art is today. It's a really inspiring story. I admit that Rock Art is sort of out there, being all the way in Morrisville, but I really think it's well worth the drive. Oh and beer is cheaper at the brewery than in stores, so stock up :D
google avatar

Sharron S.

Yelp
Love the Beer, love the tap room and Renee and Matt are the best! So happy to be able to visit them for our beer needs (and wants!).
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
Nice selection of good brews. Spent an hour there today and had an 8.beer sampler. It was difficult to narrow down to favorites. Left with a purchase of Ridge Runner and Mosaic. Friendly, informative staff topped off the pleasant experience.

David K.

Yelp
Rock Art is an excellent -brewery-. It is NOT a brew -pub-. There is a difference. A brewery is a place that brews and sells beer. It is not a restaurant. It is not a bar. Some breweries have brew pubs attached, but that's a different thing. Don't come here and judge them as a brew pub, because that's not what Rock Art is. It's a brewery with a tasting room. If you want the best beer in town (and excellent beer in general), Rock Art is your place. If you want a brew pub or a bar, look elsewhere. Rock Art's best beers tend to be their IPAs, by they also do some interesting work with other styles of beer, so I recommended doing a full tasting to find what's best for you. They'll fill growlers, or you can buy cans or bottles of their beer. Whatever floats yer boat. Rock on, Rock Art!
google avatar

John Patrick H.

Yelp
Slap your Mama, this beer is the best! Bite your tongue? No bite the roof and back of your mouth, if you can reach it because you'll still be tasting the crisp full body hops, while quenching an annoying thirst from a hard day at work. The hops stay with you like a cuddly teddy bear at bedtime. The Pilsner is very fresh tasting and great with light foods like salads and soups. Easily my favorite meal now as the autumn approaches and the more sedentary days will give way to winter. Get a Growler.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Excellent beer, if you love IPA's they have so many to chose from, and if you like ales or darker brews they have it all.

Chris S.

Yelp
Great facility, good beer and incredibly friendly staff/owners. A nice selection of art from local artists to check out. Very chill place.

Jaki S.

Yelp
Great family run brewery! "River Runs Gruit" was my favorite. Tastes like boozy chamomile tea. All the other beers were really good - just liked the uniqueness of that one.
