"Getting settled in at Rock Bar, a sprawling open-air complex, can be an ordeal at peak times, but the views are worth it: 180 degrees of aquamarine waves, jagged limestone cliffs, and a sun eager to put on a special light show for Jimbaran Bay spectators. Most cocktails blend familiar tastes with Indonesian ingredients; for instance, Rock My World (with vodka, yuzu puree, kaffir leaves) and Rockatonic (with fig gin, orange bitters, and Mancino Bianco vermouth). Tunes from renowned DJs add to the vibe. This Bali legend lives up its reputation as the island’s ultimate sundowner bar; just be willing to share those majestic ocean views with hundreds of others." - Travis Levius

The bar looks amazing, it’s really huge with lots of tables. There’s a dress code (basically, guys just shouldn’t wear tank tops). The staff are super friendly and nice. The food is just okay, like a 3 out of 5. We ordered some tapas—some were good, some not so much. Prices are above average, but it makes sense—you’re paying for the view, and that’s just part of the deal in places like this. There’s a deposit of 300,000 min per person if you order from the Tapas menu. The view is honestly wow—super beautiful, with the waves crashing right next to you. It’s perfect for a one-time visit!

Where to begin with Rock Bar? Perched literally on the rocks, it offers an indescribably stunning view of the ocean—truly one of the most iconic sunset spots in Bali. On a clear, sunny day, a breathtaking sunset is all but guaranteed. The sound of waves crashing below, the golden light reflecting off the sea, and the panoramic horizon stretching out in front of you—it’s an experience that leaves you in awe. I felt incredibly fortunate to have celebrated my big birthday on the Round Deck, a more intimate setting with uninterrupted views. It made the moment feel truly special—surreal, even. The staff go above and beyond, not just with attentive service, but also in helping guests capture perfect photos. They understand that this place is not just about drinks, but memories. The cocktails are well-crafted and refreshing, but honestly, the view is the real star. If you’re visiting Ayana, Rock Bar is simply unmissable.

My experience at the Rock Bar in Bali was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views perched on the edge of a cliff, the sunset over the ocean created the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and the staff was nice with warm hospitality, no extra touches for the birthday guy but my husband is laid back and wanted it that way! The food was delicious! beautifully presented, full of flavor, and satisfying from start to finish. The drinks were good nothing really spectacular about the drinks had a okay selection of cocktails and mocktails. One of the standout features was how well they accommodated large groups. We had plenty of space, and the seating was arranged in a way that allowed everyone to enjoy the view and still feel connected to the group. What made the evening even more memorable was the overall vibe—elegant yet relaxed, with great music and an atmosphere that made us want to stay all night. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want an incredible night out in Bali, Rock Bar delivers an experience that hits all the right notes. We’ll definitely be back! Have your cameras ready bc these are instagramable moments!

Book in advance. Otherwise it would be an issue. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come without a reservation / booking in advance. Come before the sunset, so you can enjoy the sunset with your better half. It’s a pictures-tic place. Food and the service was excellent. The breeze was comforting.

We stayed at AYANA so had priority access and got some of the best seats so we had quite an amazing experience. We went for 2 days to watch sunset at Rock Bar. I would recommend to not go too early (maybe around 5pm) to avoid the heat, and for couples, ask for a "day bed" or tapas table but request for an unobstructed sunset view. Despite being a very busy bar, the staff did a great job attending to all guests. Lastly, given the prices, I think they should seriously up their game when it comes to food and drinks. It was probably the worst food / drinks we had during our 10 days in Bali but the staff, atmosphere and stunning view of the ocean especially during sunset made up for it.

What a wonderful restaurant with a breathtaking view! The hotel where the restaurant is located is huge. To get to the restaurant, you need to walk about 10 minutes, and then there’s an elevator that takes you down to the rock bar. The service wasn’t very fast, but the view was absolutely stunning.

We recently visited this restaurant/bar and were genuinely impressed by the overall experience. Tucked away in a unique location, the venue offers breathtaking views — waves gently crashing against the rocks create a relaxing and almost cinematic backdrop. The surrounding area adds to the charm, making it feel like a hidden escape rather than just another spot for food and drinks. The menu leans into Mediterranean flavours, and everything we tried was a hit. The trio of Greek dips was a perfect way to start — rich, fresh, and served with warm, fluffy pita. The lamb was definitely the standout dish: tender, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The Greek salad was a refreshing side, packed with vibrant veggies, olives, and creamy feta. To top it off, the cocktails were beautifully balanced and thoughtfully presented — ideal for a warm evening by the sea. While the atmosphere and food were top-notch, the service didn’t quite match the rest of the experience. We were the only table there at the time, and while staff were polite, they could’ve been more present and attentive. A bit more engagement would have elevated the experience even further. One thing to keep in mind is accessibility. The entrance involves navigating a fair few stairs and ducking through a cave-like passage — it adds to the charm for some, but it’s definitely not ideal for older guests or anyone with mobility challenges. All in all, this is a gorgeous spot for a relaxed meal or evening drink, especially if you enjoy scenic settings and great Mediterranean-inspired food. With a little more attention to service, it would easily be a 5-star experience.
