"Shares a moniker with its hotel and has a coveted terrace with stunning bay views. Local stone crab claws and spinach pasta with prawns round out the menu, but the waterfront restaurant is known for its sunset-hued Goombay Smash—a mix of spiced and coconut rums, brandy, and pineapple and orange juices."

"Rock House Hotel & Restaurant An intimate gem whose only shortcoming (in some eyes) is that it does not sit on Pink Sands Beach, the Rock House Hotel & Restaurant was a labor of love for the late Wallace Tutt, an interior designer to the stars who was best known for designing Gianni Versace’s Miami mansion. Ten individually decorated rooms in the 1940s private home turned boutique hotel echo that property’s grandeur with king size beds and seaside motifs, as well as sumptuous linens and stone lion heads mounted on the walls in the restaurant. But the real story here is the service: There is always a picnic basket on-hand in every room, a library of games and books is available for perusal on rainy days, and the concierge is happy to arrange in-room pampering treatments if the walk to the neighboring spa feels like too much trouble."

Aside from the restaurant food and service, this is a nice property. Check-in was easy. The room is clean and modern. The TV is a bit small. The “free” continental breakfast isn’t really a breakfast - expect to order breakfast from the menu. Check-out was easy as well and the hotel is very close to the government dock, where the water taxi/ferry leaves from. If you’re looking for great diner, make sure to check out Bar 480 - our favorite. Also Valentine has had great service and good food.

Rock House Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Harbour Island.||I stayed in the Bougainvillea room, which is cool and spacious, with a huge bed and lovely shower. Henry and his team are consistently kind and welcoming and provide superlative service. The dinners I ate at Rock House were the most enjoyable meals I had during 8 nights in Harbour Island. Do not miss the blackened grouper or the lobster tail. ||Service at the beach is equally attentive. The modesty of Mrs V's beach hut belies the quality of the food and drink she provides. Her cocktails are made with real fruit juice and pack a definite punch and her burgers are freshly cooked and come with a delicious salad. Her grouper burger was better than any you might find further down the beach - at twice the cost.

We stayed here for 4 nights for my husband's birthday. We enjoyed our hotel stay, but wouldn't recommend the restaurant. The food was sub-par. There are better options on the island for the prices they charge. Flavors weren't developed well, and as someone with allergy to gluten, there definitely was gluten in my meal. Was very sick afterward. The manager (Henry) was very kind in refunding the meal which we really appreciated and didn't ask for. If you're celiac, I would be very cautious and ask a lot of questions before eating the food prepared.

Not to be missed on harbour island. Henry is the best. Great drinks. Great food. Attentive care to make sure the dishes on the menu are top notch for quality and consistency. If you can get a table do it. If not at least have a drink on the patio and watch the amazing sunset.

Update- Rockhouse management worked with us to refund the missing cash. Thank you for the quick response. ***USE THE SAFE***Hotel experience was decent, but we did have the cash stolen from our rooms on the first day 3/14/25. Cash was taken from my wallet and my moms back pack. We reported it to the front desk 3/16 and asked to speak to the manager but never heard back. Obviously it should have been in the safe, but someone with access to the rooms is rooting through your luggage and stealing any free cash. The restaurant dining experience is nice. Everyone is friendly and food is great! The beach chairs and staff at the beach were perfect!

Our experience was not perfect. Why 5 stars? Upon arrival, our selected room was not going to be available due to a mechanical malfunction that would require days to fix. Things break and you can rarely predict when they will break, right? It was frustrating to travel a long way to paradise and receive this type of news. What really stood out for us was the grace, humility and compassion we received from Henry and his team at Rock House. They came up with a creative solution to a complex problem and we were able to enjoy the entire weekend with our fairly large wedding group celebrating on Harbor Island. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, personalized service and overall atmosphere at this boutique hotel. Special shout out to Susie Q taking care of guests at the reserved section for Rock House at the Pink Sands beach! Small business owners that create this type of environment for their customers deserve recognition! Thank you, Rock House, for making our visit memorable — we hope to be back someday!

This place is elite for dinner! The beef Wellington and the chicken entrees were to die for. The grilled octopus delicious. Cold perfect martinis by the pool beforehand. Henry the manager is the best, so kind and wonderful.

We stayed at Rock House for 5 nights. We are a very well traveled middle age couple and found this resort to be a 3 star, at best, resort. The resort is a short walk from ferry terminal, but up a very steep flight of stairs. Thankfully, we rented a golf cart on our own after reading reviews of Harbor Island. The resort, while close, is not near the beach. It's a short ride or very long walk away. Unfortunately, while we were there the Atlantic was very rough and not safe to swim. I made all my dinner reservations on my own prior to our arrival. By oversight I had forgotten a dinner reservation for one evening and trying to get a reservation at the resort's restaurant was not easy and had to take a 5:30. I wish they had requested you make all reservations beforehand or mention guests do not have preferential dinner time reservations. It would be nice to have some overview how this works. The dinners were very good and our waiters were always friendly and pleasant. During breakfast there was only one woman working and she was hustling to have the continental breakfast/coffee counter filled and take/serve seated customer's orders. Our breakfast took forever so we preferred the marina restaurant down the road. The pool closes at 5 to set up for dinner so we were disappointed about not having anywhere to hang out after the beach. The cabana by your room is overrun with mosquitos. The bartenders, in the evening, were the best employees we encountered. Very friendly and made the best drinks. We ventured off property to several properties. We really enjoyed Coral Sands and their beach bar during the days. Rock House has live music one night of the week and we really enjoyed that evening. The female singer was great. I wish they had had entertainment more than one evening. Some of the employees looked annoyed when we tried to get directions to several places on the island. Maybe a printed map of the island would help alleviate that problem. Having travelled the entire Caribbean we have experienced so many other properties worthy of this price point on other islands.
