Rock Solid Backpackers & Group Accommodation - TBG

Bed was comfortable and our room had air conditioning, however, no window. Guest kitchen was well equipped with the basics and Netflix available for guests in the lounge. Staff was very friendly and knowledge. Rock Solid was well located with walking distances to supermarket, I-site and Kuirau park. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Quirky building and well located, with lots of local info and very attentive staff. Superb amenities, and private parking spaces. Room was good value for money when considered against some of the other places we have stayed on our NZ trip. Recommend!

Good spacious rooms (we were in an 8 bedroom dorm) and kitchen was relatively clean. ||There’s a few common areas that have good natural light and couches to lounge around on.||Doesn’t have an overly homey fee but I think that is in part due to the layout of the hostel. It’s multi-storey building and things are spread across all levels.

Hostel has a very strange layout - slope up to the reception then a coded door, more corridors, card fob needed for the next 2 doors etc. However the man on reception was very friendly and welcoming - knew lots of information about the local attractions. Our double room was cozy, with an aircon/heating unit adjusted in room with a remote. Bed was comfy and had coffee/tea facilities. Bathroom was along the corridor and came complete with hair dryer, straightener and 3 in 1 shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. ||Didn’t use the rock climbing wall but the lounge and kitchen area were great and had a seating area with tv.

Friendly staff Small beds for big people. Verry noisy next door because the walls are verry thin so you can hear alote. Kitchen was good, evertyhing to use was there. Shower good, toilets clean. For the price it was okey

Lovely hostel. My double room was big and the heater worked well. The bathrooms were clean and large. The hostel is very centrally located, but there is ample parking nearby (free on the weekends!). I had some trouble pulling up my backpacker group code at check-in, but the staff were very friendly and were able to apply the discount retroactively at check-out which was amazing. I'd definitely stay here again if I found myself back in Rotorua!

Had an incredible stay in the 4-bed interior dorm! Front desk staff were friendly, there was a heater in the dorm room and the toilets were clean. Complimentary tea bags in the kitchen were a nice touch, perfect for relaxing after a long day outside. Great central location too, in close proximity to various transport options and amenities.

Awesome hostel with a great location, cheap parking, and a climbing gym inside. Only drawback was that they didn't have any air conditioning.
