I read so many positive reviews about this place so wanted to try it out on our day out. We came here yesterday at around 14:00 at a busy time as it turned out as the cafe was full. Yet it was completely unventilated and so stuffy that it was hot and hard to breathe even while we were ordering. I think the shop staff should monitor and manage this aspect and perhaps just open the door or turn on the air con so that it is being inside is comfortable. Based on that circumstance, we decided to get a takeaway yet the bad experience did not end up here. The barista was a young guy, so uninterested and disengaged, he barely said a word and had a indifferent face expression which I don't think fits for someone facing customers at a coffee shop. When you get a takeaway coffee it's like a whole experience and if they barista makes you feel unwelcome or like you're intruding to his/her privately space, well, that ruins the overall experience. Friendliness is key to this position. I wouldn't have left this review if all of that was eventually balanced out by a really good coffee, but sadly our coffee (oat milk cappuccino) was mediocre too! The barista didn't make an effort to even make it the right temperature, so it was essentially room temperature milk poured over hot espresso. 🤔 Someone has to tell him that that's not how you make a coffee. It's not how it's supposed to be made, not at home, not at a coffee shop. Ever. Period. While I was waiting outside, my husband, a quite guy who is one of the most easy going people I've ever encountered, was accepting the order, and had to return it to the barista and ask him to heat our coffees. I know that if he had to do that, the coffee must have been REALLY unacceptably lukewarm! 😄 The barista again was very indifferent, had the same blank face expression and barely said anything through the whole time. He heated our drinks just slightly but not enough. When I had a sip I was surprised that this was a reheated drink it was just on the lower scale of warm! Sorry, but it was a disappointing experience: to enjoy the coffee, not only the quality of ingredients are important but the temperature is crucial too. Can't recommend this place as staff needs proper training or the management would better off hiring people who are indeed a good fit for the position of barista.

Used to love this place, but it’s going downhill. I used to really enjoy having my casual morning coffee here — the atmosphere was great, and the staff were always friendly. Unfortunately, the last few visits have been disappointing. While a few of the girls were still friendly and smiling, the one who took my order seemed downright annoyed. She barely made eye contact, and when I asked about the food after she brought my coffee, she literally rolled her eyes at me. Not a great experience. The cleanliness has also dropped — last time I visited, several vacant tables were covered in dirty dishes. Customers were moving them just to find a spot to sit, and it didn’t look like staff were cleaning up promptly. I understand they might’ve been busy, but the mess looked like it had been there a while. I really hope Rocket Bean improves and doesn’t turn into just another mediocre chain — Riga already has enough of those.

I liked this place in Central Riga. Three types of beans available as espresso. Seems a lot but hard to choose because it was an infused coffee (which I am not a huge fan of), a blend of very traditional beans and a decaf. It wasn’t late at night so I didn’t go for the decaf but having this choice is commendable indeed. The infuse was tasty, I liked it quite a lot. The blend was so so, maybe it was preparation (overextracted), maybe the beans. Water wasn’t offered on the side and there were no clean glasses to pour water as self-service. The beans on shelves, at least the ones I checked, were not very fresh. Well, filter Kenya roasted middle November was still tasty, I made it at home. Maybe not exactly dream experience but still not bad at all

One of the best espressos I've ever tasted. Well balanced with a good amount of body and fruitiness. Be sure to try their espresso with their "special" beans instead of the "classic". I had to come back the second day before I left the country just to taste their wonderful espresso one last time. Will definitely visit again when I'm back in Riga!

After a delicious lunch, we had coffee. It is a very important part of our daily life. Just around the corner is the coffee house of domestic brand Rocket Bean coffee roasters. The owners have proven themselves not only in Latvia, but also in the world with their high-quality roasted coffee, and they have so many types of coffee that one would have to grab one end and start tasting. Is not it so? What do you say? In other words, educate yourself and others. In addition, if you are missing a coffee-making tool at home, you can buy absolutely everything here. Also those cool AeroPresses, with which you can make delicious coffee even in the forest on a stump. I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard and seen good reviews.

Stepping through the threshold of Rocket Bean Café on Dzirnavu Street is akin to embarking upon a delightful voyage to a haven of refined repose. Indeed, this charming establishment is a veritable sanctuary for those who seek respite from the clamour of everyday life. Upon my frequent visits, I have found the coffee to be nothing short of exquisite, a robust yet silky elixir, masterfully brewed, served steaming in delicate cups that elevate the sensory indulgence of the moment. Each sip offers a luxuriant pause, complemented splendidly by an array of delicacies worthy of the finest afternoon tea. Their pastries are flaky, golden, and subtly sweet, evoke nostalgia for an era defined by elegance and unhurried pleasures. The ambiance is equally enchanting. The décor combines tastefully chosen vintage accents with touches of modern charm, creating an atmosphere both comfortably familiar and delightfully refreshing. It is a place where one can linger effortlessly, absorbed in conversation or immersed in quiet reflection. Moreover, the attentive service of the staff, courteous without intrusion, is most commendable. Their genuine warmth and eagerness to please further enhance the welcoming feel of this quaint retreat. In short, Rocket Bean Café on Dzirnavu Street is a gem in Riga’s crown, a perfect sanctuary for leisurely mornings, convivial afternoons, or evenings of thoughtful contemplation. Highly recommended to any discerning patron of fine coffee and genteel leisure.

TLDR: Real coffee in the baltics! Must try the magic p Ethiopia espresso tonic! Having been on a grand coffee tour of the Baltic's, I discovered this place in search for 'proper' coffee. I asked one of the girls for their recommendation and she made me an espresso tonic with a double basket. It was actually AMAZING. Thank you (I didn't catch her name). Great place for working, vibey.
