On the Grid : Rocket Fizz

"Willie Wonka's Chocolate Factory would be jealous of newcomer Rocket Fizz, the sweetest sugar shack your brain could dream up. Entering Rocket Fizz is like being transported to candy land - you can't imagine that so many fun, whimsical candies and treats even existed. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a candy "fried egg" traditional faves, or one of Rocket Fizz's private label sodas - there's even a "Snookie" Soda for Jersey Shore fans. You can also find amazing fun and nostalgic gifts like over-sized action figure cut outs, concert and movie posters. Swing by and leave on a sweet sweet sugar high." - Reel FX

Such massive and quirky variety this shop has! I was astounded by the large selection of taffies that I had to get some for myself! They offered two sizes that you fill up as much as you can fit, a small for $9.99 and a largest size for $12.99, but the small size was still a ton! You can even fill up caramels, butterscotch candies; and more, pretty much anything sharing the wall with the taffies. They had hilarious signages, unique candies and interesting flavors in sodas, ranging from pickle, to bacon, to classic old school cane sugar Dr Pepper. It was a small, yet jam packed store that was so much fun to browse and shop. Aside from my taffy bag, the other candies were a little pricey, but you’re paying for the quirkiness of it. You can’t really get this stuff anywhere else.

Google
Cute candy store with many varieties of candy and drinks. I loved the 9.99 fill a bag. The prices on the hand were a different story. Many of the bagged candies were the same thing you can get at Dollar Tree and 5 Below but 2x higher. The employees were very friendly and helpful.

Love this place! All kinds of goodies for all sorts of cravings!

Google
Very Willy-Wonka-esque presentation for the size of the space. Gag gifts, wacky varieties, topical sodas and a pretty good spread of sugar-alternative options! You can go to see and probably walk out with an old favorite, new favorites and maybe a soda for $20-30

Google
I was so surprised and pleasantly happy that I found a Rocket Fizz, which I haven't been to since they closed the one in Rice Village about 6-7 years ago. The place looks quite similar to the one that used to be in Rice Village with all the candy and the tin signs hanging. Found a new type of Fun Dip and I'm quite excited to dig into it shortly. Looking forward to coming back for many future visits!!

Just randomly came across this location. It’s amazing on the inside, even though it is small they have a lot of things. From a variety of candies to sodas and memorabilia it’s worth a visit. I picked up some different flavored sodas all tasted amazing. The staff working were really friendly.

My husband who is from Houston brought me here because he thought I needed to see this place. He has never been more right in his life. The variety of eclectic sodas and snacks is amazing. So much memorabilia and funny collectibles. I would love to visit again.

Google
If you're on the hunt for a candy store that truly stands out, look no further. My husband and I, along with our candy-obsessed children, are always on the lookout for new sweet spots to indulge our Saturday sugar cravings. This store is an absolute gem with an astonishing variety of delicious treats—truly an understatement! The selection is so extensive, it’s like stepping into a candy wonderland. Additionally, they offer a fantastic range of retro soda/pop. If you’re a candy enthusiast or just love a good treat, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
This place has such an enormous collection of different types of candy to different types of drinks, even strange drinks like butter soda, bacon soda, hot wings soda etc. There were several types of root beers alone, too many to just choose one! We bought chumlee rootbeer. I would definitely love to come back and try many of the other flavored drinks, even if it's just another root beer. Such an eclectic collection of candy and sodas.

Yelp
The store has a lot of cool and unique candies and drinks that you either never seen or haven't seen in a while. It's the throwback store where you walk around and reminisce about your childhood. We grabbed a few drinks and candy we have never tried before.

Yelp
I think this place is definitely worth the hype! If you like trying different types of candies from all over the globe this would be for you. If you love old-school candy has been having a hard time finding that favorite candy of yours. I would highly suggest coming to rocket fizz. It was about a 35 minute drive from my house, but I promise you it was worth it if you end up like my comment if it was based off of what I said.

Yelp
Great concept and it's fun to shop. My family went one Sunday afternoon and purchased a variety of items. My wife noticed one of the candies she tried had an "off taste" and then saw the item was out of date by months. Thinking this could have been a one off, we went through all the items we purchased and saw many pieces were similarly out of date. Hope they can fix this- my family would like to try again, but food safety needs to improve.

Yelp
If you like retro candy/old-fashioned soda. This is the place. I'm not sure if they have 300 or 400 different kinds of soda. But they have about every kind of Dream of

Yelp
It seems that my love for this place has Fizz-led out at this point. But I digress. This is really just an expensive candy store located in Katy Texas, and while the selection isn't great, I do like the decor and I think it's super pretty and super fun, and in that case and in that regard I appreciate it being here, but having said that they could do a better job with the pricing.

Yelp
I was like a kid in a candy store. Except I'm 22. 5'2-5'6 with platforms. With adult money. An adult in a candy store. It's more fun when you don't have mom and dad to say no. All joking aside this place rocks. The guys working here are an absolute treat among all these sweets. Any and every question we had was answered. My husband and them even talked Wonka Bars . We took the boys here 2 times in one day, because we went the Dave in Busters and didn't want them to eat sweets, before running and blowing chunks on the arcade floor. We have them time to make a mental note of what they wanted and gave them a budget. $20 each. ‍After already spending $400 that day on food and entertainment. This place is really fun for adults and kids alike. These guys are so honest. My husband had like $70ish cash just loose in his pocket and I guess it fell out while we browsed the aisle. The manger saw the money and they picked it up checked the cameras and promptly returned it to him. My husband never realized he dropped it until they came to return it. These people are beyond kind and it goes a long way these days. I am so glad we stopped by. Besides their kindness we got to check out their wares. They have everything. I mean everything. It's a bit on the pricier side, but you pay for convenience. Where the heck can I get Dr. Pepper Cotton Candy on Sunday I. Houston at 4pm? The store is slow one minute and then busy the next. Everyone comes in waves. They had every flavor soda you could think of and I mean it. Butter flavored soda ? Keto friendly? Maybe. They had all five flavors of moon pies, my second favorite pie after cream . I was amazed by the options. I scored enough candy to get me through to my 24th birthday. Stop in even if just to window shop. Everyone on my Instagram had a good laugh at the soda flavors. I'll be sure to check in the next time I come by. Thank you guys for your friendly service! We will be back!!

Yelp
All types of candies and sodas with friendly staff. They have a military discount too which is always great for the veterans.

Yelp
Needed a specific candy. I looked in my neighbor pharmacy stores. I checked at Walmart. Then drove around sending my kids into other grocery stores. Who doesn't carry Smartie candy necklaces? I'll tell you who does. Rocket Fizz! Thank you for completing my Piñata costume just in time for the Bone-Bash! The clerk was attentive regardless of having a busy store. Went and grabbed me what I needed even though he could have just sold me what was at the counter.

Yelp
Super cool place!! They have a little bit of everything from drinks, candy, chips, shirts, signs, puzzles and more. There's a lot of different flavors of everything. Not bad prices either. It is kind of a smaller place if a lot of people were gonna be in there at one time.

Yelp
Very cool shop. Had no idea it even existed until we passed it up. Went inside and was pleasantly surprised! So many flavor of sodas I couldn't believe it. Definitely worth checking out! Very retro/vintage feel to it I liked it!

Yelp
Great selection of candy though the prices are steep! We were looking for a large pixie stick and found what we needed along with a few other treats.

Yelp
Super fun candy/soda/novelty shop in the Marqu'E Entertainment Center. I have to admit I get a little cross-eyes by the vast array of strange soda flavors like Sweet Corn, Butter, Buffalo Wings, Pickle Juice, Maple Syruo, Bacon, Ranch Dressing, Barf, Dirt, Grass and so many more! Don't let that deter you because they do have other traditional flavors such as Coke, Pepsi, a huge variety of Root Beers, Ginger Ales, Grape, Ginger Beer and soooo many more. Candy? Omg this place is reminiscent of another candy store on Alabama but I feel with a ton more options! They even have a bulk section where you can fill a small or larger bag for a flat rate. There are also dozens of flavors of taffy to choose from if that is your cup of tea. They also have novelty items like superhero lunch pails, fart bombs, shirts, cards and much much more. The owner is always they and is super friendly. He has this really cool Christopher Walken pic on a piece of wood he made based on something he saw in his travels that says "Walkens Welcome" which cracked me up. I asked him how much it was & he said that was the one thing that wasn't for sale. He said "I tell everyone that everything in the store is for sale except the wood, and he is on wood!" LOL If you've got time to kill before a movie or even after, this is a super fun place to check out because you'll lose a lot of time checking everything out.

Yelp
Awesome store, unbelievable amount of Sodas, more than I could keep track of. Candy selection was also very good, appreciated the variety and origin variety too. A+ would definitely recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Amazing hidden gem! All the candy you can dream of and literally full of soda pops. I felt like a little kid again and I loved it!

Yelp
Wonderful candy store with lots of selection! The staff is very kind and nice. We got some taffy and Mexican candy. My oldest had dropped and broke his lollipop literally 2 mins after leaving and walking to our car so i went back to purchase another one and the lovely lady (brunette hair, didn't catch her name) replaced it with a new one of no charge. That's customer service! We will be back!

Yelp
The owner is extremely nice and helpful we bought a bunch of old soda for our son's first birthday and he grabbed a box and filled it for us was extremely helpful, he had just about every kind of candy you can imagine, really cool old signs Coca-Cola signs/superman signs all kinds of candy from back in the day!! Not to mention he's got great music playing in the background which is nice. I highly recommend the store I will give them six stars if they will let me!!!!!!

Yelp
Noticed this place after eating Warehouse 72 next door. Happened to be one of the coolest candy stores I've been in. Lots of pop culture and unique items and not to mention candy and sodas. Found a gem in Rocket Fizz.

Yelp
Came there not to long ago to check it out with my 2 sons. Lot of variety and vintage candy. The overall vibe was old-fashion and retro. An amazing experience, as new to the candy store I ask the cashier for suggestions for the candies and sodas. She was so kind and I loved all the candies she recommended! I believe her name was Ashley. My kids loved it and got a lot of candies and taffy and got some of the weird soda like the Bloody nose and cookie dough. Friendly-staff and loved the environment, classical music and variety in candy. LOVED IT WILL COME BACK AGAIN!!!

Yelp
If your looking for nostalgia of your childhood this is the place to go. Ask for Elizabeth. Elizabeth is the best and has answer and knowledge. From the warm greeting to goodbye GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Yelp
I'm so glad they opened this location right across the street from my house! All the taffy I can eat. My husband went last night and I went back to today. The owner is actually in the store, at the register, he's a very nice man. I was pleased with this hospitality and willingness to make sure I was taken care of. If it's your first time in the store make sure you ask questions. You can easily miss something because the inventory is amazing to say the least! I would give it 10 stars if I could!!
google avatar

Roni B.

Yelp
Had a great time visiting this store!! The owner is very friendly! And polite! I went to buy some taffy, and in the past days that I have been eating it, I noticed the taste was quite different, and the pieces were smaller, and some gooey out from the wrapper. I have bought taffy at Buccees and Dicks sporting goods already packaged and noticed those pieces were bigger and nicely wrapped! Cool store!! But I think I'll stick with the prepackaged and salt Water taffy!

Yelp
Over priced and really not that great of a selection...pretty good for Houston but other cities have much better candy stores..

Yelp
Stumbled upon this shop in West U and was sad that one closed but happy we still have one in Houston. My boyfriend and I are both huge root beer fans and you can't find a better selection anywhere than here. They also have tons of fun candy, sodas and gag gifts!

Angela M.

Yelp
Took my cousins from out of state during their visit and they loved it. One of the few places where you can find all types of nostalgic candy. The cashier was also very knowledgeable on all of the various flavors of soda..which they have hundreds. It's a fun place to check out while in town.
