Reception seems annoyed to have guests. Not welcoming and real bad service. In this case the low pricing mirrors the poor service. If you are wondering why they're cheap, be aware that its not a welcoming place..

Not expected much from this place. It looks old and messy. The bed sheets are stink and smelly. Room was hot even AC runs all night. The bathroom area is actually clean. Parking available

The worst reception I ever experienced. Arrogant and lazy host.

Overall a pleasant experience. We couldn't get another hotel room in Rockhampoon as the Beef Convention was on and everything was booked out. The cabins (demountables from the year 2000 olympics) were worn, but clean and everything worked. The price was less than we expected to pay for a hotel room, but this was about a 2 star. However, it was quiet, close to restaurants and amenities and in a garden setting. So we liked it!

Lovely place to stay, good rooms, great shared spaces like kitchen, backyard, tv room, pool... And overall, really good environment. Steph, the owner, is a great person and she is gonna always be there to help you out in everything she can. Worth every single dollar and I stayed here for more than 5 months.

Nothing like the YHA in Cairns or just any, really.. The reception desk looked indistinguishable-to the point where upon arrival I thought I had been directed to an unsafe and dangerous premise-not a YHA. ||Safety: The hostel's situated in a fairly isolated alleyway in the derelict area of Rocky. Probably not suitable if your a solo female backpacker/holliday maker.|Noteworthy details: The receptionist is quite judgmental and will refuse to accept last minute bookings.

Prior to this experience I was happy with YHA but I have to say that now I will think twice before I book again. In general it was filthy. The room was old, with dust, not cleaned properly. The bed uncomfortable, the sheets disgusting, ripped. The fridge, again, old and not clean. The shower was for dwarfs, really complicated to take a proper shower. My first impression of the lady at the reception was the she was quite rude. After speaking a little bit more with her you can feel that is just her personality but I think she should try to be more welcoming. It seems that she is the only one there all the time, which has to be exhausting. We paid 65$ for a double room, which I think it is expensive for what we got. Lucky us we just stayed one night.

The yha Hostel is okay. Its not completely clean, but for the cheap price it was enough. The staff was really friendliy and they are good prepared for travelers which arrive late in the night. All in all it was good for a few nights
