"Rent inner tubes, rafts, and stand-up paddleboards to float down the wide Guadalupe River and take in the bluffs of Hill Country. Rockin' R offers different routes down the river and transportation both ways. They can advise on a route depending on what you're up for—a peaceful float or serious rapids. While it's a popular activity among families, many tubers are spending the day on the water drinking beer and getting sunburnt, so the atmosphere can get a bit rowdy." - Mandy Ellis

We enjoyed this river immensely last summer with our dog. We would buy the day pass and chill in the water with him. We were looking forward to another fun summer there, but that didn't happen. Last weekend, we bought our day pass, only to be told to stay in this restricted area which was deep and NOT dog friendly and not comfortable for us, we had to stand the entire time it was too deep for chairs. A few other couples expressed disappointment as well. So we went again this weekend, prepared only to be told NO MORE DAY PASSES. Instead, we had to buy a drink from the bar and again stay in the restricted area which was different. This time it's by the first rapids , NOT dog or family friendly at all! As we sat there disappointed once again, we saw three large families sneak in . The security guards were too busy telling those sitting in chairs to go back to the restricted area, that they didn't notice! So we sat there disgusted , as we followed the rules and bought a drink. Only to see people sneaking in. Another large group was very disappointed when the guards came up to them . The young group of guys were very respectful, the guard explained it's under new ownership and management. So many of us left disappointed, and will not be returning. I don't understand why they would change something that wasn't broken. So many families with littles and pups like us enjoyed the say passes . Very disappointed.

This was such a disheartening experience. I hate to leave negative reviews, but rather than feeling relaxed upon this visit tubing with a friend I hadn’t seen in months, her and I were both thrown aback by the very disrespectful and unkind attitudes of the young girls working here (and, sadly, it wasn’t just one). There was not a smile shared by either of the little girls who we purchased tickets through, and then the other girls who put on our wristbands continued to talk amongst themselves and did not care to tell us where to put in our tubes or to have a good day. When we had to ask the man who gave us our tubes where to go, he agreed that the young girls that work this place are not helpful. Thankfully, he at least told us to have a good day: that restored some hope. As a 25 year old, I truly see why people my parents’ age and older are so disappointed in this generation. I hope and pray that Chad, who gave us free passes for the day out of a random act of kindness, can train these girls to be kind and that true leadership and responsibility when running a business stems from a sweet heart.

We visited this location last year and had the best time. We decided to come back to this location because of our experience however this year it was not the same. We arrived at 1030 and it was as if they were barely opening. My nephew needed a phone pouch and we asked for a blue one and all they had was pink, we we asked if they had others the girl stated they did and when we told her we wanted the blue one she said it would take her too long to go get from the back “it will take me 20 mins” we told her we would wait and she stated “well basically I don’t want to go so this is the only color we have.” We were all shocked to hear someone tell us they didn’t want to do something when literally getting bad to do that very thing. The air pump to blow up our floats wasn’t connect and the girl attending that section basically wanted us to find the plug to connect it. Again they were not prepared. They open at 9. Then we go on our float- exit to get on the bus had to wait over 20 mins to get on. We get back to the main area and we are told that we needed to pay an additional fee to float again! That’s the most insane thing I’ve ever heard pay to float the same place again? Needless to say I will never be back to this location again. It’s going downhill. Stay away!

Had a lot of fun here! Lots of trees provided nice shade during the late afternoon. Even on a 100° day the outside temperature felt perfect and the water temperature was so nice. Shuttle service was super quick and convenient. We’ll be back!

We went on the Crystal Nights Kayak Tour and had a blast! Stacy and Aubrey were excellent guides, they are super friendly and encouraging. The guest I brought along had never kayaked before so I was very grateful that they made her feel comfortable and confident. We saw lots of fish, a bunch of nutria, and even a beaver! If you are looking for something chill to do or a unique date night I highly recommend this experience.

It's $30 to tube here. When I questioned the price thinking it was cheaper the manager became accusatory of me of to prove where we saw it cheaper with an overly serious demeanor which wasn't necessary. She could have been more polite or offered me a year pass for $100. When I looked it up afterward I saw the average is $15-22 with everything included. I had never been tubing but I was right! Rockin R River rides does not post their prices anywhere even at the site, so they can charge what they want at any time. I do not like to be confrontational and I was not. It looks professional on the surface but when it comes to paying it feels more like a hustle. Do your research. There are plenty other outfitters to chose from that are just as good and more affordable where you can enjoy your time without a unwelcoming manager who rudely dismisses the customers and super sweet staff.

Gift Shop Delights and Essential Tips for a Smooth Day As you gear up for your aquatic adventure, don't miss the opportunity to explore the gift shop at Rockin' R River Rides. It's a treasure trove of river essentials, perfect for those "uh-oh" moments when you realize you've forgotten something crucial. From sunscreen to shades and everything in between, the gift shop has you covered, ensuring you're fully equipped for your day on the water. Speaking of essentials, remember to pack a hearty dose of sunscreen to shield yourself from the Texas sun's embrace. And for those items that simply can't take the plunge, a trusty dry bag is your secret weapon against the river's watery mischief. With these tools in tow, you'll be ready to conquer the currents with confidence. Streamlined Ticketing and Navigational Know-How For a seamless start to your river escapade, consider purchasing your tickets online before arriving at Rockin' R River Rides. This savvy move not only saves you time but also ensures you're swiftly on your way to the aquatic action without the fuss of waiting in line. Just remember, there are two distinct queues at the entrance, so double-check you're in the right one to make your entrance as smooth as a river glide. If you prefer paying your entry fee upon arrival, brace yourself for potentially longer lines. But fear not, once you've secured your float, head over to the nearby wristband pick-up area. Here, you'll find a sign laden with invaluable information about potential obstacles, rapids, and the best route to take when the river forks. It's like having a trusty guide steering you through the twists and turns of the Guadalupe's watery realm. The Bathroom Conundrum: A Cautionary Tale Now, let's delve into an aspect that may not be as glamorous but is undeniably important – the restroom situation. This year, however, has brought a note of disappointment in this department. The restrooms outside the gift shop area have seen better days, with unsightly clothing items scattered about and a shocking absence of toilet paper. It's a scene that's hard to ignore and even harder to accept, leaving visitors aghast and rightfully perturbed. To add to the discomfort, the sinks lacked running water and the luxury of soap, leaving handwashing an impossible feat. While it's evident that the building is undergoing renovation, the lack of basic amenities can be a letdown. Perhaps it's a lesson learned – if you can't provide the necessities, a temporary closure might be the wiser choice. A Glimpse of Relief and a River Revival But take heart, for as you embark on your river journey, a silver lining awaits. At the put-in, you might spot some of the typically superior portable bathrooms stationed by the river's edge. While we can't personally attest to their cleanliness, they present a ray of hope for a more comfortable pit stop. In Conclusion: Embrace the Guadalupe's Call Dear river enthusiasts and seekers of aquatic bliss, Rockin' R River Rides beckons with a promise of exhilarating moments and a touch of cautionary wisdom. Whether you're grabbing forgotten essentials at the gift shop, navigating the ticketing labyrinth, or pondering the restroom realities, your journey along the Guadalupe River is uniquely yours. As you venture forth, remember that the Guadalupe's beauty and the thrill of the ride far outweigh the minor setbacks. It's a call to embrace the river's serenade, to surrender to the currents, and to create memories that will sparkle as brightly as the Texas sun. So, gather your gear, gather your friends, and embark on an adventure that will leave you smiling, splashing, and savoring every moment along the banks of the Guadalupe. Your Rockin' R River Rides experience awaits – jump in and let the currents carry you to a world of wonder! #lifeafteradulting

Awesome time. The river is a little low right now but it is a beautiful and fun experience. There are three "rapids" that add a little excitement and plenty of places to stop and swim if you desire. I did this trip in just over two hours.
