The location was beautiful and we had a great time with the outdoor recreation. I took a kayak out and really enjoyed paddling around the lake. The food wasn't bad. We were there for a conference, so sometimes banquet food is hit or miss. Theirs was pretty good. Unfortunately, that's where the good parts end. Every person, that I heard speak about how well they slept, said their bed was hard as a rock. I agree, I slept terribly. The real kicker was the terrible coffee. I'm never surprised when the coffee in the room is bad, because it usually is, but the coffee downstairs was just as bad. I spent 2 1/2 days with bad coffee and Starbucks was a 16 minute drive, and doordash said we were too far away for a delivery. If you love hard beds and you're not a coffee drinker, this is the place for you!

Great time at Rocky Gap! My wife and I wanted a retreat and was an excellent place to get away for a few days. We did not golf or go to the casino however the facility and grounds were very nice, clean, and staff friendly. Loved the views overlooking the lake. ||Good hiking, we took the trail around the lake. It is easy to moderate about 5.2 miles. ||Food was just okay, prices a bit high for what you received, to be expected at a resort. We went off site for one of our meals. Cumberland, MD is about 10 minutes away. Had a good time exploring.

After many years driving by this resort, my husband and I desided to try it out. We were looking for a place not too far away to celebrate our Anniversary. The property is beautiful but there are underlying concerns. I had high expectations but I was disappointed. I believe there is a staffing issue at this resort. I had purchased an upgrade on my room for a view but I got the parking lot instead. When I asked about changing, the said nothing was available. We had to make reservations at the main restaurant through open table. The restaurant , Lakeside Grill, could not alter our reservation but when we arrived the restaurant was not full. We sat outside on the deck, the tables were bare. The food was average and not worth the price. When I asked the server about various food, he could not tell me. The room was clean and the atmosphere was lively. The other grill had live music at night but the food took awhile to get. The beach area by the lake was lovely but when you went into the water there was so many rocks and bricks it was hard to walk. The casino was good but all the tables were full if you did not get there early, you would not be able to play. It was a relaxing weekend but it just was not up to expectations.

Google
Very beautiful location with good amenities and a casino. However the service was lacking with some employees stating they'd worked long hours after being short with us. The exercise room had not been cleaned in a while and it showed. The front desk personnel where friendly and helpful the reason for 2 stars. The prices are high and the overall value for the customer has diminished. We've been here a few times in the past and things have changed, this was not a pleasant visit for us.

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights, 27 July-30 July. With high expectations, I was immediately disappointed. To start, upon check in I ask about a Veterans discount or reward and was told that has to be done when the reservation are made "I can't help you with that next time don't make online reservation,  call this number" - 1 star Entered room, bed looked like previous guest made it and pretzels on floor. -1 star Fine dining, The Lakeside Grille is not even close to the best restaurant in Cumberland and certainly not Maryland. I will gladly pay high prices for an outstanding meal, but I am positive whomever is cooking has never even seen Braised Short Ribs and most likely never eaten them done properly. - 1 star We had a wonderful meal in the Signature Bar and Grill, Chicken Wings and Ultimate Nachos and Garden Salad. This was the only one. + 1/2 stars. We lost our buts in the Casino and had a wonderful time doing so. It would have been nice to win more often, but I know better. I imagine the Rocky Gap Casino is making a killing.  Thanks for letting me keep my shirt. +1/2 star Massage was awesome (Amy is wonderful) she gets 10 stars, but was easily the most expensive massage ever! $185!  Equal to 3×1hour Deep tissue Massages. Value - 1star Definitely some wonderful people that work at this resort, but it is my impression that management is so focused on cutting corners to make money they forget they have customers. It's probably easy to do when the Casino is doing all the heavy lifting with the least effort. This could have been an unforgettable experience if the small details and true customer services were a priority. I definitely felt like I was not important, and for the amount of money we spent in that building is not right.-2 stars. I hope you look back on your reviews and see that your bad ones are the honest ones. Also, have someone chase the geese off every day. No one likes a beach with turds on it. -5 stars. Jim S.

There was a massive power outage the hotel and they made sure to keep the Casino and the casino bar open running on generators. The rooms had no power or air conditioning from 9pm until 6am. People with small children had no choice but sit in the lobby til 1 or 2 in the morning to try and cool their children. The staff was not at all forthcoming about what was happening or offer waters or anything. The resorts only response was a manager will be here in the morning. So after sleeping in a pitch black room at 78 degrees they said we can do 25% off your room. The rooms are almost $300 a night, I could of slept in my car for free. My last visit to the resort the heat was out in the restaurant and they only had limited seating so there wa a lomg wait but no resolution. And my prior trip to that I was charged twice for my room and had to dispute the charges. This hotel has the potential to be great but obviously has no emergency plans in place and their priorities are more toward making money than their customers. The only glimmer I have is the property is beautiful, clean, and my partner loved the course. Worst night in a hotel ever.

Google
This hotel definitely caters more to the casino community than their actual guests. No separate parking for guests vice casino goers so be prepared to walk at least 1/2 mile with your luggage. Also the restaurants on site keep very odd hours and expect reservations even when the restaurant is 3/4 empty. Bathrooms are tiny, no microwave in rooms. Better place to visit if you want to casino but not a great place to actually spend the night.

Google
Casino is beautiful. On a beautiful piece of land. Didn't pay out well. Could be just my luck, lol Rooms are nice. Bed was pretty lumpy though. We only stayed one night. Food was expensive in the two restaurants you had to choose from. Even the little Snack shack up front was pretty pricey. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yelp
I have to say this was the worst experience we've ever had with a hotel. We gave one star only because Mr Jack was the only saving grace. I'll start with- the hotel was dealing with power outages. We completely understand that can throw off an experience but unfortunately we were unable to book anywhere else due to traveling with the entire family First, we decided to goto Signatures to grab a meal. Once seated we were told that all of the servers refused to take us but the nice bartender took care of us instead. She warned us it would take awhile which we were fine with. I believe her name was Maddie, she was also very sweet and just trying her best. We sat outside incase the power went back off and it in fact did. The last power outage lasted from 8:30pm-8am. Maddie did fantastic but due to multiple miss communications our experience ended with half of the family leaving early. We were told our food would take over an hour and a half. It ended up coming out luke warm in 20-30 minutes. The manager was extremely combative. When we brought up the situation she said they could've just refused to serve us because we were a large party and continued to basically say our bad experience with rude staff (host and servers) and sub par food wasn't her problem. So that's one rude manager and a not so great experience due to the power outage which we all understood wasn't at fault of the hotel. After dinner we decided to go to our rooms. On our way up we found that elevators were down and the rooms were about 75F at the time. Leaving our room to go to dinner my Fiancee, 4 year old, 3 year old and sister in law got stuck in the elevator for several minutes then told when the doors finally opened that there was a staircase, great but weren't told where they were. Essentially we wandered until we found ourselves on a random concrete slab with a bunch of golf carts. We decided to goto the lobby and were surprised to see that the casino was still lit up, air conditioned and all. The lobby TVs were working, outlets and lights worked and the front desk had ac. Meanwhile our rooms were blacked out and hot. We decided to hangout in the lobby oppose to the dark. Many people were taking naps on the couches. My 3 year old son fell asleep at one point and a security officer said he couldn't sleep there, on the floor in a corner, and that he was contacting his manager. Once the casino manager came he asked me the issue, I explained and he in a very rude manner said "so I don't see the problem" at that point I said he's 3, it's hot and dark in the room, he has to sleep somewhere and he said it was fine and shoed me off. That's now 2 rude managers and a not so great experience we were once again trying to chalk up to being due to the power outage and staff being on edge. We were told there would be an update at 2:30am. When we approached the front desk the agent claimed he had no idea when or if there would be an update and gave us a fan for our room where the outlets don't work. Said he felt bad for us and the kids but that it wasn't his problem. The only bathroom on the floor was in the casino so we had show our IDs to get in. Kids obviously couldn't go so we had to take them to the dark room 2 floors up to get them taken care of only to come back and find out that we were banned from the casino for being in and out. Finally 3 rolled around and we all ended up going back to our rooms. At this point it was about 80F in the hallways. We called hotels everywhere and while they did have power they were not able to accommodate 4 rooms for us. We were stuck. Around 8am the power came on, fire alarms blaring, I'm not sure if anyone else experienced it but our hair dryer must've been left on from the guests before us because it was going off. We all took a deep breath and just hoped today would be better. The rest of the story can be summed up by saying the second day and checkout wasn't much better we just dealt with rude people with lights on instead of in the dark. We called front desk a few times to request a cart to load up- no answer. When we finally got through the lady on the phone said "okay I'll probably forget" 30 minutes later we decided to just load up ourselves. In summary, while I agree the views from the hotel are gorgeous the services itself fell extremely flat. Everyone we spoke with had a terrible attitude aside from Mr Jack. We were constantly told "that's not my problem" from managers and staff. It was just all around a terrible experience. I completely understand a power outage can cause someone on edge but customer service was absolutely terrible even when the power was on. Safe to say, we won't be returning.

Yelp
This place is a total joke!!! Don't waste your time and/or money. I was on my way to a mini getaway with my girlfriend when I decided to stop in for my free promotions, to grab a beer, and to play for a bit to kill about an hour, but that changed real fast. Now here's the kicker... I hit a major jackpot about an hour ago, but they wouldn't pay me because I have the paper copy of my new ID issued by the DMV that they gave me until my federal one comes in the mail. Make that make sense? I had my original license that expired while waiting for the Real ID to come in the mail plus my social security card. Unbelievable! They gave me a No ID form and said come back when you get your new ID and you can get your money then. So, I guess that paper ID that is only issued by a DMV is good enough for you to take my money, but if I win it's not? Funny how that works, isn't it!? I'll definitely be talking to an attorney about this in the meantime. I'll never play here again. God forbid I can sit there and play with that ID but if I win, it's an issue. Smfh!!! The employee(Joseph) who came to handle my jackpot and has worked there for five years said the same thing. He couldn't believe it. It was the lady who was in charge of him who acted like I did something wrong. Horrible vibes, that lady. Smdh! Once my ID comes in the mail I'll drive back two hours to get my measly $1432.11 and I will never come to this place ever again. Btw, you think they'd comp me for my time, my gas, the aggravation, the emotional stress, etc. Nope! I contacted corporate while I was there but I couldn't get ahold of anyone, so we will see what happens in regards to that. Horrible service!!!

Yelp
Some things have changed at Rocky Gap, some for the better, some for the worse. First of all you can now check-in at 3pm! (Previously it was 4pm) The entrance to the resort is still as weird and awkward as possible. Parking is free and they do have music on speakers in the parking lot. Lots of 80's music. But, the quality of the room coffee has deteriorated horribly. What I made in my hotel room with the tiny maker smelled like coffee and tasted like coffee but it was the absolute worst coffee possible. I asked for a mountain view and got a golf course view, which really wasn't bad. The room itself is quite comfie as is the bed and pillows. They need USB chargers on both sides of the bed. The hiking trails are beautiful and in the evening, it was nice to sit around the gas fireplace overlooking the lake drinking $8 beers. The bird watching was pretty good-- I saw osprey, heron, and ducks. The casino side is super depressing but then I don't really go over to that side.

Helene B.

Yelp
We stayed at Rocky Gap 5/22/25 - 5/25/25. Customer service has been completely unhelpful. Our room had hair in the bed, stains on the sheets, a chair covered in dust and lights that flickered all night under the cabinet. The dining room served inedible salmon, pizza lunch soggy and disgusting morning oats was vile and the bacon egg and cheese was burnt on the outside and frozen in the middle. The Food and beverage manager response, "ORDER SOMETHING ELSE"  VIP services response "WE ARE AWARE". We live within driving distance and were hoping for an alternative to Atlantic City. On the way we even discussed booking for July 4. Given the lack of customer service, it is doubtful we will stay at any of your locations. We are very frustrated and annoyed at the lack of response or any corrective action.

Yelp
Great casino ! The view of the mountains and lake are breathtaking ! So much to do here, clean rooms and great staff!

Yelp
Any of the meat cuts we ordered over two days between the four of us was absolutely wonderful. The outdoor ambience is beautiful and very relaxing. We definitely will visit again.

Gerard O.

Yelp
Not worth the price - our room was dated, damp and smelled of mold/mildew. Housekeeping needs improvement, linens were old and did not smell or feel fresh. The food was below par and the staff was rude and unprofessional. The casino was dreary and low energy vide. The golf course was not terrible but it doesn't make up for all the other shortcomings. With so many other options out there, we would not recommend. My friends David & Mindy also had a bad experience but neither will bother with a review.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Absolutely isn't Worth a visit... been too alot of Casinos and never been told that I couldn't play because I wouldn't give my email...I ask why the response was because they wanted too sand us a bunch of junk mail... save your money and go too a real casino for real fun... room are average no microwave... just showers...

Yelp
Tony and I was driving on the ridges in Maryland on our way back to West Virginia. The park is very lovely. There is absolutely a large and beautiful lake, with a sandy Beach, bath houses, boat rental, picnic tables, grills and large camping area. There is also a golf course, a Hugh large and casino with full bars and restaurants. While I was there I joined their rewards program. Tony and I had some fun, he drank a little while I enjoyed OJ on the rocks... didn't win but hey luck can't always be shining on you!!

Hannah B.

Yelp
Lackluster and unkempt. We checked in only for 24-hours with a family of three in the winter. We were provided early check in, which accommodated a shift in the spa schedule. Check-in staff are extremely friendly and helpful. When we checked into our room, the lack of cleanliness was apparent. There was random hair on every sheet, and counter top. The bathroom was not wiped down properly with marks on the shower and counter top. When we went to the pool, many of the towels had rips and holes. The spa staff were friendly, with a 75 minute scheduled massage. The casino was fine entertainment, and the lounge cafe bartenders were helpful. In reality the staff were the only aspect of the resort that made the experience.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
The casino is in a beautiful location. However, they're stingy with food comps. We played craps and video poker for a couple hours and got nothing in the way of comps. We were told because we were up winnings, we didn't qualify, which wasn't true. I was down and my husband was up..two separate accounts. Being this is a 2 hour drive for us, probably won't be back. And they need more employees. All areas were short staffed.

BB T.

Yelp
Very nice! Also you will be charged resort fee and Park entrance fee! We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful property inside and out!

Patty S.

Yelp
My sisters and I planned a fun getaway with our daughters. Our girls all got massages or a facial. There were 8 girls. Each one had an awful experience. The masseuse either talked the entire time or complained. It was not relaxing at all for the girls. Then the power went out in the hotel so most guests congregated in the lobby where there was a little bit of light. The casino had a backup generator so they had power. NOT ONE EMPLOYEE came around to explain what was happening or asked if anyone needed anything. They could have at least offered water. When we finally went up to our rooms around 12:30am, the power was still out, and we still were not told one thing. Our rooms were hot. The power finally came back on at 6:30am along with the fire alarm. When we checked out in the morning, no one apologized or offered any compensation. We had to ask to be compensated in some way. It was very little, but at least it was something. Although the resort itself and the area is beautiful, I will not be returning for any type of spa treatment.

George R.

Yelp
Initial problem with t.v. but was quickly addressed. Every service provider was very polite and helpful.

Yelp
Overall, the resort is excellent. Personnel are friendly and helpful. The upscale restaurant is a bit pricey but terrific! The casino offers many gaming options. The outdoor areas are excellent. We especially enjoy the nonsmoking environments!

Julia A.

Yelp
We checked into resort hotel 01/05/25 for an early birthday celebration. Several inches of snow had us to extend our stay. Today, January 6,25, I extended our hotel room at 0630 due to poor road conditions. At 1115 a police sounding knock at the door startled us. We opened the door, a staff person asked if we were checking out. SMH! Checkout is at 11AM. Regardless if we had/had not extended our hotel at 0630.....checkout is NOT until 11AM! WHYYYYY are you LOUDLY knocking at our door! It was embarrassing! Other guest on the hall heard it.

Yelp
Views are wonderful. Housekeeping, below expectations. (Lack of housekeeping) See the pictures below. Grounds very nice with beautiful lake and fire pits. If we where are not staying for 2 nights as we did, I would have given it possibly 3 stars.

Yelp
Nice location. Lake and landscaping well kept. Staff friendly and helpful...Restaurant (Lakeside Grill) was good but expensive..$4 for 8oz of OJ?! Parking should be prioritzed for hotel guests... Room...trouble opening door entire time, toilet constantly running, no microwave, horrible lighting, no mirror except above bathroom sink, linoleum coming up in bathroom, horrible water pressure, horrible pillows, reeked of weed our first day, no countertop space in bathroom..... May come back... The outdoors makes up for the indoors.

Kenya D.

Yelp
I would love to rate this place higher because the views and ambiance was exceptional. I really wanted to love it since its a three hour drive from me and I thought I could make a road trip destination. I would say the majority of the staff and guests were super pleasant. One staff member ruined my whole experience with her blatant racism. I believe her name is Janae or Janelle but she was the bartender at the outside bar for happy hour. Even other guests were so offended they offered to but me drinks and diner, which I declined because it wasn't their fault.

Yelp
First of all, I want to say my standards would be much lower if this was a Motel 6 or something. But this is a resort and it's not cheap. My husband and I were there for 1 day and left early. The mini-fridge in the room had leftover food in it. No one was monitoring the pool area, so there were kids going wild diving into the shallow end and running around. Someone had spilled chips into the pool and the water was freezing. Again, not a big deal at a cheap motel, but this is a resort. The dining options were sad. 2 restaurants and a snack shop. Both restaurants were super slow and got our orders wrong. The food was really overpriced and nothing stood out. It was ok, but not impressive. The best food I got (and probably the only thing they got right) were the fried pickles at the sports bar/restaurant. By the time we determined we couldn't stay another moment, I went downstairs to tell the front desk we were leaving. I was told there were no managers on duty. It was about 6 pm and there was no manager... at a resort??? When I went to go back upstairs, 1 of only 2 elevators was broken. It started to feel like we were trapped in a nightmare. At 7 am the next morning, there was a manager on duty. Luckily she was nice enough to let us checkout without charging us for any additional nights, but still, we had really needed a relaxing break, and this was not it. The views were absolutely beautiful, but it was hard to even find a comfortable seat outside to relax and look at it. When visitors find a seat, they tend to claim it and not leave it for hours. Perhaps adding more chairs and more staff would help this place. But we'll never be back!
google avatar

April S.

Yelp
I visited the Rocky Gap Casino Resort for a conference recently. It was okaaaay. For that most part the staff was nice and accommodating. When it came to the breakouts, the space was fine. However in the larger meals, the food was just alright. There was nothing riveting about my experience here. I was never compelled to actually go to The casino though there was the $10 free slot play provided. The crowd was older. I spotted at least one confederate flag plate on a car (which wasn't the most comforting but I guess staff has no control). Overall Amenities for fine. View was amazing. Seems like it can be a relaxing remote get away.

Yelp
I'm not a gambler by any means, but this resort is much nicer than expected. We enjoyed the Lobby Lounge & found the resort from what I saw, clean, even the restrooms were very clean which is amazing. I enjoyed an old fashioned & relaxed in the lobby. Lots of comfortable seating. I had extended family staying at the resort & it was nice to have a common area to visit with them. Lots of television/sports/entertainment. Will definitely return.

Yelp
This is my second time at the resort and it has VASTLY improved over the years. The rooms got a renovation and are much nicer. The room stay was a pleasant experience but I wish that the bathroom had a makeup / close up mirror. There was a lot of storage for your things. Activities wise, a lot of things were closed off season. But come the summertime, they will open back up. There is the lake walk that takes about three hours and 6 miles to complete. There are various fishing spots around the lake. There is a small beach front at the state park and around the lakes perimeter. The casino was my favorite part. It's not that large but it is a decent size. I enjoyed playing there. They have slots and tables as every casino does. The spa isn't luxury by any means. However, the massage was quality. There's nothing fancy about it but there's the massage rooms and the nail/ hair salon. I recommend getting a massage and call them for an appointment. The food is a touchy thing. The lobby has a little grab and go counter but the food is very expensive for that style. It's not the best either, but it's there if you need anything. The main restaurant on the bottom floor was expensive but really delicious. They have outdoor fire pits and lots of chairs that make sitting outside a very pleasant experience. If you want to go fishing, there's rod rentals in the summer but you can bring your own. There's love bait vending machines at the state park building next door. I recommend coming here, especially in the summer if you enjoy a lot of outdoor activities. In the off season you'll have less activities to do, but still a relaxing weekend getaway.

Yelp
This place could be great, and if you are a golfer; or were there to enjoy the nature/water sports you might not be bothered by what we noticed. There are a lot of great things about this place, and most of the annoyances were small, like locking a random exit door to the outside, so you have to backtrack, or the neighbor with a yappy dog in a hotel that doesn't allow pets... The biggest detractor for us was the dirty room. If I had taken a picture of all the random hair I found (not looking for them) there would have been twice as many photos, they were in the shower, all over the sink counter and even in my bed. The fridge had sticky (Mountain Dew?) all over the bottom. The beds were soft and you get plenty of pillows. Most of the staff is VERY friendly (almost too at times if that's a thing for you?) but they can also be slow, sometimes as a result of the friendliness, sometimes just SLOW, but you're on vacation right? The Lakeside Restaurant has REALLY good food. (We compare every steak to Bobby Flay in AC, as my review readers will know is now closed). I spoke with guests who claimed that the other restaurants were just normal fare so we skipped them. The pricing is not any higher than any resort or Casino we've been to, but it depends on what you're used to. (The prices and menus are on line, no reason to be surprised). We booked with open table and since it was mid-week and we eat early (5:30, actually late for us nowadays but ..) we didn't wait for a window seat to enjoy the view while we ate. (We thought our steaks were over cooked for med-rare, with almost no pink) but it didn't detract from the the taste or tenderness, so not a complaint just a note to ask if you're particular about that sort of thing. (Thank you Ken and Ashley!) I also came down one morning for breakfast (brunch by the time I sat down)- the place was empty and it took an hour to get some coffee, eggs and toast, the food arrived quick enough, everything else took forever. The biggest issue is that the non-stationary hostess(?) was more concerned with entering the phone numbers of the people from the wait list (most had been seated there was myself and a party of 3 still waiting), than helping out and cleaning a table. Only after she had done that and realized that no one else was going to bus the tables she went over and did it. I waited well over 20 minutes to sit down in an almost empty restaurant. Then I saw there were only two servers.. maybe I missed the a.m.rush? My server was nice, though slow considering she seemed rushed with me and not overly attentive, I waited quite awhile for the check. (I still tipped her well) The Casino is small, and they don't really like you to bother the cashier apparently, tho they do have a ticket cash out machine (but you get a voucher for the change, so I was confused by this report from my hubby so my best advice, just round your cash out ticket as close as you can to the dollar). He lost the first night and almost didn't go back, but won some of it back the second so there's no casino shade. Oh, and the True Rewards, aren't, unless you can really frequent this place or go to the other associated casinos. I did go to the spa for a single process color but this review is already pretty long. Maybe a second one or add to this one later. ----- And apologies to Brian(?) who was leading the tour on the 6th floor. (6/21/22) I think I was considerate and I didn't want to point out all of the above since I wasn't sure who it was you were escorting, but after putting me on the spot, it was only fair I got to do the same, and I did ask permission first. ;)

Yelp
First time here and maybe the last. When checking in we were asked if we wanted our room close to the elevator and my response was that was not important we just would like to have a nice view. See picture attached- so disappointing. No complimentary coffee in the room or lobby. This resort is only meant for people who like nothing but to gamble and golf. The spa is fine and the ladies there are all great but other than that not really much else to do but eat and drink. The only store, the pro shop is mostly all for men - not one piece of women's clothing, only a few Vera Bradley bags and some Brighton jewelry. Ladies -Be prepared to find other ways to keep your self entertained especially in the winter months. Brought down to one star because security guard stops us in the elevator inquiring what is in our bag- just a bottle of wine purchased from a winery in town that we prefer to not leave in the car overnight!!! Incredibly inappropriate and uncalled for. And so what if we drink a bottle of local wine in your "resort" room where we have already spent PLENTY of money on a weekend getaway. We will never come back to this place again!

Yelp
Well I am quite surprised resort had only two and a half Stars? Maybe it's because it was busy on 4th of July and nobody could have vacancy? In regards to the rooms and ambience it's excellent. Had gotten a free stay before heading back to Chicago to end 4th of July. Has great amenities very clean they even cater much better for Ada a lot more room for the handicap. The lakeside grill in the lower level is an excellent if not beyond decent restaurant I just had lunch here I'm not sure if that's a separate Yelp review here. I have their wagyu Burger and the bread pudding and I am going to be making an encore tonight dining here for the more fancier dishes. This is a good place probably on a less busy holiday just to get away for the weekend and it. Play the views of the beach and the mountains with the River lake that I'm not familiar with. As For the lakeside grill might as well include it. I had the wagyu Burger which was delicious in which they seasoned it with a special tangy vinegary dressing and I cooked mine's medium rare and their bread pudding which gave it a new spin is breaded with vanilla ice cream on the top which was uniquely delicious. Going to be making an encore for dinner and trying their more fancier dishes. After this I'm going to sit in the hot tub in the pool to chill

Yelp
My husband and I used to go frequently to Rocky Gap. Over the years, we went less and less. The last time we went, we had an awful experience that we were able to laugh about because our expectations were low! We had a room for 2 days. Housekeeping kept trying to come in, we received a call from the front desk asking us if we knew what time it was because we needed to check out! We had to explain to them that we had our room for another day. My husband received a free pizza voucher as his promotion from the casino . I took the voucher down to pay for the pizza we ordered, and the voucher expired at midnight. We had 5 hours to have a free pizza. After I paid for the pizza and went to the room, I saw the order was wrong. I called Signatures to let them know, and they asked me, "What do you want done for us to remake your pizza?" I told I just wanted a refund. The pizza was burnt and looked like the oven shat all over it.. They advised me there was no manager to help me with that. I asked what I was supposed to do. I was advised to call the front desk. No transfer, no assistance! I called the front desk and there was no answer! I literally laughed so hard because just as the free pizza voucher showed how "The Resort" cared for our business, the staff I dealt with that day were equally as unimpressive or non existent!

Yelp
Being from this area, this was a welcome addition to the area when it opened. Thinking that there is a PGA Tour level golf course, incredible lake and beautiful scenery, as well as a new casino being in one stop was a great idea. I have been here several times. And by several I mean, several. If I can't sleep, the night before a trip, or just bored and have nothing to do - I might stop out. A casino is 24/7 so there's no closing and having something to do is very cool. The dealers and pit bosses are very helpful and nice. great group of people work here, and Frank. To those who say "hey it's small", "it's underwhelming" etc need to realize this casino is located in an area that boasts a population of about 30,000, if you include the chips too. Yes, IT IS SMALL YOU AREN'T IN VEGAS. My main concern and reason for an average rating is the following: 1.) Drinks cost even when you are gambling (heavily) $5 beers, $7 rail drinks? 2.) Comps are almost non-existent. You have to gamble in the 5 and 6 digits to get anything and in talking with some high rollers, they aren't even impressed. 3.) On roulette, if you bet red/black and it comes green, you don't get half your bet back. Greedy. 4.) They got rid of poker room/ poker area. Weak.

Yelp
We have been here 4 times and I can't understand the 1 star reviews and complaints. Sure the swimming pool could be bigger and the prices for food and drink a little lower but many more positves tan negatives. Beautiful scenic view of the lake and surrounding ridges. Several outdoor fire pits and chairs. Very nice golf course. On our most recent visit we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I guess some people like to complain.

Yelp
This place was okay. I came just before it opened up more for the season, activities-wise. It has a nice view and is right in the water. The food is average. Then service was good at the Lakeside restaurant, but slower at the coffee shop and Signatures. The room was nice. The fire pits and outdoor furniture are nice. The pool is nice. I enjoyed the spa, even though I wouldn't call it high end. I had a high quality massage there. The casino is average, but I'm not much of a gambler. Overall, I might come back. I don't think I'd bring my young child, though, because there is just so much drinking all day among the clientele and it's not a particularly child-friendly atmosphere. I like to have a drink here and there, but it seemed excessive to me - people drinking in every party of the hotel, even the pool.

Yelp
We tried booking one of their "Special offers" through their website well in advance but it wouldn't go through. Called up and was told it was because of the "new system". When we asked if she could take our reservation for the special pkg we were basically told we were out of luck and they wouldn't honor what was on their website. I contacted them to express my displeasure bc they wouldn't honor the deals on their own website and after weeks of back and fourth I was told that since they couldn't honor their deals they would leave vouchers at the desk for us. Got to the hotel and no one knew anything about vouchers. I once again contacted them and was told our account would be credited for the inconvenience. Paid good $ for a room w a view and could see nothing but this (below) Go to check out and the credit was not on our account and the woman knew nothing about it. Manager said he would take care of it but it took forever to receive that money back. Never received an apology and he made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Since they kept our itemize bill I asked for a copy and here it is, a month later and I still haven't received it. Food is expensive and service is slow. Another woman checking out had issues and was dealing w the manager as well. There is SO much more but I'll stop there. I gave it 3 stars for the outdoor setting only. Positives: gorgeous outdoor setting, peaceful, complimentary dessert sent to room

Yelp
I have stayed here before. The rooms are nice and clean. But what I want to raise concern with is the QR code placard that sits next to the tv that streamlines your rewards application process. DO NOT use it because it takes your cc info and signs you up for unrelated bs. My Discover card was compromised and had to be cancelled. Management should step up and remove these placards. Or at least clean up this sham. BTW I was being charged $50 per day for a debt consolidation service? that I had no idea about until Discover alerted me

Yelp
So this place is definitely not Vegas. You don't come here to win. That's for sure! The slots are set very tight so be prepared for that. It's also pretty small. So if you are coming on a weekend, it's going to be crowded probably. The resort area itself is really nice. It's pretty expensive overall, so do your research before you come.

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights on this holiday weekend. The room was just okay. I had a very firm mattress, and a lot of ladybugs kept getting in. Restaurants were good. The spa was outstanding and had a wonderful facial. The pool and hot tub area was nice, the pool is warm, and there was plenty of towels. Felt clean. Wish I had booked a lake view room. Views are gorgeous all around. I did not use the casino so can't speak to that. Only peeve besides ladybugs is they don't service the room while you are there, if you need more towels or whatever you have to go to the front desk. I'd come back in warmer weather to do things on the lake.

Yelp
My husband and I just recently visited Rocky Gap Resort for a few days. The property is situated on a lake, with a few small beaches & water activity rentals that are available. The outside atmosphere (I'd give that 5 stars) is top notch, and the best thing about the resort! There's lots of seating areas with fire pits. There is about a 5.5 mile hike that loops around the lake, which was very nice, safe and accessible. The restaurants are eh... there is a Bar & Grill which was pretty good if you're looking for burgers, and pizza. Then there is Lakeside Grill which the resort advertises as "Western Maryland's premier, upscale steakhouse", is 1 star at best. We tried it for both breakfast & dinner, and was less than impressed. There were several items that tasted old, like they were from the day before and just reheated. The eggs at breakfast were scrambled out of a carton or something you might have at a continental breakfast and not fresh. At dinner, my husband got the filet with béarnaise and the béarnaise was broken. I got the lobster bisque and the lobster was not good. To some this might seem like small issues but for the prices of the meals, I expected better. The prices are that of a fine dining establishment (think Ruth Chris- a la carte style) and this was FAR from fine dining. I was very disappointed in the restaurant, as we were there celebrating my husbands birthday and wanted a really nice dinner. If I was at an Applebees paying $20 a plate, I could look past some of the issues we had. All in all, nice place to visit, but I would highly recommend eating off the resort.

Yelp
Came here for a mini getaway. Didn't go to the casino and mostly wanted to relax for a few days. Pros -beautiful mountain and lake views -peaceful and quiet trails -rooms were clean except the very noticeable handprints in the window, and spacious. Had lots of outlets for chargers and has USB slots -dining room staff can be super friendly and helpful... Then you have the ones that aren't -spa experience was lovely got a couples massage and girlfriend really got into my back, which was much needed! -spa receptionist was one of the nicest people in the whole place! Now that's customer service! Gave us great information and was very personable. I think she sold us on bringing the kids next time in the summer. She should be at the front desk greeting guests! -pedicure service were nice. Regular signature offered a nice sugar scrub and mask of some sort that made my feet tingle. One beautician was very friendly and warm... The other.... Not so much. Oh! You can order an alcoholic beverage while you get your toes done but it may take a while to arrive... -room service and cleaning staff were superb and on point with customer service -fireplaces around Lake and patio areas are a nice touch in the evening. -jb restaurant lunch was delicious and fair priced. Burger was cooked to order. Although, presentation of some of the plates were a bit messy. -offers paddle boats, kayaks, small playground, and beach area in the spring/summer months -state park right next door for more outdoor activities -key card in the elevator for guest floors so no non-hotel crazy guests are banging on your door. -indoor/outdoor pool with hot tub Cons -beds need to be updated. I can feel the springs in my back and ouch! My poor back is in pain from the stiffness of the mattress -breakfast buffet options are standard nothing special.. No prime rib if you're looking. The mimosas were a rip off. Served in these tiny flute glasses for $5 -long wait for just checking in. There's two front staff members when there should be at least one more. -maybe I'm spoiled by my regular spa.. But for a place to be called a resort.. I would feel the spa should be a little more pampering. I could hear chit chat from the staff in the waiting room when they had a quiet sign on the front door. Couples massage was nothing special. Just two beds in the same room, no frills. -not many fall/winter activities. Maybe an outdoor bar area or music outside. We did find one fireplace that worked. Wish the ones by the lake worked. -jb restaurant dinner is a rip off. The prices were insanely expensive. If I'm paying $25 for a premium hamburger please cook it how I requested. Medium rare and not well. -late check in time at 4pm May give Rocky gap one more chance...

Yelp
Great Casino and Resort. My wife and I have been here many times, never disappoints, beautiful scenery, great casino games, and good times!

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and the room service has gotten worse and worse. I'm paying top dollar for a hotel room and get no maid service for 3 nights and 4 days. We are no longer in the depths of COVID. Maybe they are unable to find and retain employees. I wish they never got rid of the buffet they should reinstate it. The facility is clean and quiet. The entertainment is nice. The lake is nice. I enjoy the casino. The food is ok and the service is ok. The golf course use to be better maintained. Again maybe a post COVID help issue. Maybe there is daily maid service now. This post was from July 2022.

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable time. What a getaway! In the middle of the Cumberland mountains and right on a beautiful lake. Steakhouse was very good. Views were amazing. Gaming was so so. Bartenders were warm and welcoming. A very comfortable andceasy going ambiance radiates throughout.

Yelp
My cousin and I decided to go to Rocky Gap after a long month of work. So, we get there around 10:00 am and as soon as we get there we started walking around and talking some ideas for some projects that we have in mind, so, after a while walking we got so hungry, we moved into the Casino and asked a guy if we can get some food in that place? the guy in the front was super nice replying "yes, of course" and giving us his best advices. Thank you for that man. So, we get in and as soon as we get in we saw a sign saying "SEAT YOURSELF" cool, let's find the best place then. We move out to patio and a few minutes later a tall beautiful girl came to us saying "how can I help you?" Wow! That smile on her was real, so, we order an appetizer then the entry and everything was on time and delicious, but there's only one thing (this does nothing todo with the server) the bread on the appetizer, that bread didn't tastes fresh, it was hard and it tasted like it was from a day before, that's the only thing I have to say about the kitchen crew, but the crab was on point. Our server name was Naomi, great, great server. I even open an account here to review her job. Thank you Naomi.

Yelp
I've been here in July 2020 and just recently in January 2021. I'm not a gambler but I wanted to spend a little time with family along with getting out of the house to a nice area near the mountains. I've never heard of Rocky Gap until my mom said she had a free stay. It was nice to plan for a little small adventure! The drive from the DC area to Rock Gap is a very calm and serene one. If you're lucky to go on a nice day, you'll see all the nice landscapes of rural areas and the mountains once you get closer to the resort. On my first stay in July 2020, their establishment was in a higher tier for safety pre-cautions. For example, their spa wasn't open. Since I don't gamble, I tend to take advantage of other enjoyments such as the restaurants, outdoor activities, and the spa. With Covid, the buffet was no longer available, but they still had their main dining, their sports-like bar, and cafe. During my summer stay, I noticed the low capacity in and around the casino and resort. This was already a good sign to my comfort. We arrived earlier than the 3pm check-in, but they were nice enough to let us in an hour early since it wasn't busy at the time. The room was comfy and clean, the view wasn't the best but we still saw the lake and mountain in the back. My family took advantage of their outdoor seating next to the lake. Such a relaxing experience! You can get a drink at the bar and just have a seat in one of the many seats they provide along the lake. They also have a small beach-like area that gives you view of the state park across the way. They also offer paddle boats, kayaks, and self-pedaling pontoon boats which my family and I took advantage and definitely recommend! I had a lot of fun and a good work out with those boats. For my winter stay, we stayed for another single night during the week. We arrived right at check-in with surprisingly no wait at the front desk. Our view was definitely a lot better on this visit. As in cleanliness and health safety, they were still on par as my previous visit. The only difference to this trip is that the spa was open and their sports bar wasn't fully open. I was really excited to try out the spa as I was in need for a massage. Their website to make a reservation was not operating so I made one by calling them. It was a simple process and just like many spas, they do ask for a credit card to hold the reservation. The spa experience was great! Everyone was wearing a mask properly and they do require you to wear a mask while having the massage. They do have a salon which offers hair service and nails, but I'm not sure of their facial services were available at the time that I went. As for the food, I could only review my experience in LB's restaurant, which is their full-service dining. During the summer and warm times, definitely get a table outside! You get an amazing view with your meal. It's funny to say, that my family and I ended up getting the exact same breakfast and dinner meals for both our stays. For dinner I ordered the filet mignon and my mom got the salmon. It's definitely not the best steak, but I would recommend the salmon since both times were cooked perfectly. For breakfast, it was our typical bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast, and pancakes. All were very delicious and presented nicely (sorry not picture). Overall, I enjoyed my stays here at Rocky Gap. It has a nice warm welcome feel to it. Even though I didn't take advantage of the casino, the other amenities and activities were great. The staff were very nice and helpful and I can see that they're doing their best on keeping their guests safe during this time.

Yelp
We were excited to book here for a night on our way to DC but we were disappointed upon arrival. The location is beautiful on the outside though. It's annoying that the parking is mixed with casino parking. It was a trek trying to bring our luggage from the car to the room but it's ok we can deal with that. What we were displeased with was that The room was very very dirty. It looked like nothing had been cleaned and all they did was add new soap. There were a lot of strands of hair in the bed and all over the room. The desk and desk chair looked greasy and so did all of the other surfaces. There was a thick layer of dust on the hair dryer and tissue box and alarm clock and light fixtures. Everything looked and felt dirty. The shower was gross and there's no soap dish at the sink. I don't expect hotels to be perfectly clean but this was not acceptable. The worst part was the air conditioner was very very loud which made it difficult to sleep and it was also covered in a thick layer of dust on the vents and condensation below it yet it was too warm in the room. There was also dust all over the bathroom vent. It would have been nice to have another mirror other than the one in the bathroom but it's not a huge deal. The WiFi is nearly non existent. There's 1 bar and it won't work at all. The ambiance of the inside pool was very nice though it was also quite dirty but that could also be accumulated from the day because we went in the evening. Overall we feel that the price was way too high for what we got and we will not be staying here again.

Yelp
The property is gorgeous, the beautiful Mountains, the lake, The outdoor bars and the fire pits, everything here is designed for their guest to have a wonderful stay. We checked in here on nov 1st the room we were assigned was spacious and clean and when you open the window wow the view unbelievable you're looking at some incredible fall foliage and a tranquil lake. I started noticing sounded like a rolling cart across hallway outside my room. At first I thought that was the cleaning crew so I ignored it and then we went to the casino to try our luck, took a little bit walk around the property. After a full day we decide to have the dinner buffet for dinner. After returned to the room. The noise continued and a lot worse. After paying attention and search for the origin, OMG my room is directly behind the elevator and it sounded like they are due for maintenance. Needless to say, I did not get the rest I needed. I would love give a higher rate if I did not spend the nights here. Pros: location to dc, food and drinks are well priced, 24 hours operation, very pretty.

Yelp
Nothing I'm complaining about has anything to do with COVID-19 restrictions - this place is terribly run and unorganized. I don't want to hear, "we're doing our best during covid." It's the end of August, you've been at this since March and this is the best you can do? Who is in charge and how did you get that job? Make-A-Wish? You have a promotional event (not indicated on your website) which restricts your paying guests access to facilities. Can't check in until 3pm, so at 3pm (you known the peak times people will be checking in) let's have one person on the counter, and let's keep her on the phone so she can't focus on her job. Get to my room. And it was the wrong room, requested a room with 2 beds, get one with a king, now I have a choice to make, re engage with those motards (motivated retards) down stairs or just suck it up for a night. Can't bring in my own alcohol to my room, but your bar and casino is packed (remember that promotional event?) shiiiiiiiiit. Bruh, this was a Thursday.

Yelp
If I could rate this casino lower than one star I would. Epic player the highest you can be, put 500k in it this year and are way in the hole. Used to be a great place then was purchase by Century and now the casino has hit rock bottom, no jackpot payouts, the employees will even tell you how terrible it is. They have nice machines outside that should be inside. 10k in a weekend and cannot hit even a small 1200 dollar jackpot it's terrible century casino all have terrible reviews and slots so tight you have better luck playing the powerball. I used to come there every week multiple times now I will definitely be finding a new casino in the area because this place is trash for payouts.

Yelp
We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend as we were back in town for a family event. We lived in the area and were patrons of the casino for several years prior to moving last fall. We were excited to stay here when we knew we were coming back to town for a weekend. We were severely disappointed in the hotel. We had eaten in both restaurants before and had spent a lot of time in the casino so we knew what to expect there but for the price we paid for the room it was ridiculous. One of the beds either had a bad mattress or box spring as it sagged to the middle so when either of us got in it and rolled over, that's where you ended up. We are not obese people so this was not expected. I even switched the mattresses on the beds thinking since the one in front of the tv sagged, maybe not too many people had slept in the other bed but that did not make a difference which tells me either both mattresses are in desperate need of replacing or the box spring on the one is just beyond done. The bathroom was insanely small for a hotel bathroom. I did not like the open shower either. We have stayed in much nicer hotels for a lot less of a price. I emailed the resort after we got back but have yet to hear back from anyone acknowledging our awful stay.

Yelp
Our stay was so great. They called to make sure we were still coming as we were traveling, called the room when we checked in to make sure everything was clean and to our liking, and they asked how our stay was as we checked out. Everyone was nice. We did Evitts trail, which was quite the workout but we didn't regret it one bit. We had meals from all the open restaurants on site and the food was great. LB's in particular was wonderful. Our room was clean and made us very comfortable. We will definitely be coming back again.

Yelp
I have been to RG a few times now and love it. They gave me a great free slot play offer, so I have been back frequently. I have stayed over a couple of times and day trips the others. Today was a day trip. After I was done gambling I sat at the bar at LB's. Vicki took care of me and she was the bomb.com! So nice and welcoming. I realized she was on the end of her shift and her service was as if I were one of her first guests of the day. Most bartenders and servers will groan under their breath or try to rush you. Not Vicki! Excellent service and my RibEye was perfect. I did well on the slots and left a winner. Everyone is exceptionally nice at this resort.
