Rocky Road Backpackers

Beautiful and peaceful hostel immersed in Nature’s Valley countryside. We spent 2 nights camping with our own tent, plenty of outdoor space and super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful and safe surroundings, about 15 minutes driving to Nature’s Valley beach. Nice and equipped self catering kitchen, cosy and warm area were the fire is always on at nighttime. We loved it and we will be going back for sure!!

One of the best backpacker in all South Africa. The staff is amazing- Mac , Berri, Rocky and his children make this place to an experience that you don't want to miss. The food is awesome! The prices are chip. A lot of interesting people form all over the world. And the BEST parties on Friday nights.

Thank you to all the staff at Rocky Road for a great stay. They have a beautiful location just north of Nature's Valley and the staff there go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They set us up for a fantastic hike in the area and they even provided rides since we didn't have a car. Also, if you get the chance to stay in one of their luxury tents, it is definitely worth it. A very comfortable sleep right out in nature!

Best experience in life. Lived two months there. Most careful, friendly and welcoming place that you can think off. Niciest localization to most of gardens route tours. All the awesome staff will make it a happy, safe and pleasure moment!

A decent backpackers located in Nature's Valley along the Western Cape's garden route. We spent 4 nights in the private tents and found the accommodation good. There was also enough space in the tent for our 2 year old son. The vibe and atmosphere is lacking somewhat but where they fail here, they certainly make up for with an amazing giant jacuzzi which we loved spending time in. They also have a great communal fire place.

No real backpacker community atmosphere here. Beautiful garden where they placed multiple cabins to sleep in. Thought I booked an accommodation where I shared the bathroom with one other cabin (two cabins and one bathroom are joined together) but first thing that happened was someone else doing number two there. Not nice sleeping next to a public toilet...

A great, chilled camping atmosphere. Clean toilets and showers with hot (though sometimes scalding) water :D Plenty of room to set up tents with power outlets available throughout the campsite. Permanent tent rooms are also available. Breakfast and dinner is also available to purchase and was generally delicious - especially the home-made beef brisket stew. Very close to Plett, Knysna and of course Nature's Valley beach. Overall highly recommend, super friendly staff and a happy camping experience :)

Friendly staff, good wifi, and a kitchen that has everything you need. The camping has electricity at every site and is set in a very pretty setting. Knowledgable staff who are more than happy providing useful information about the area and SA as a whole.
