The Rodean is a very special place to eat - family run, intimate and friendly. It also serves the most amazing food you could possibly imagine, using local produce wherever possible. If you’ve eaten there before you will know this. If you haven’t, you really must give it a try - you won’t regret it!

We have eaten at The Rodean on a number of occasions now & each time it has been fantastic. The food is of excellent quality & cooked with love & skill. The menu changes according to the seasons which has allowed us to try something different every time we visit. There is a very good wine list too. We always try to book The Rodean when we visit our daughter who is studying at Exeter university & it’s become the highlight of our weekends! Try it …it really is very, very good!

The funny reason we came here is because I wanted to try Wood pigeon and this place offers it, was recommended by a friend, but it was a really nice surprise! Food and service is amazing, high quality find dining food I would say. The price is not expensive since at all (I’m from London) and would definitely come again and highly recommend to my friends. Bread is complimentary and they also gave us something special called Amuse Bouche - so nice! Starter: We ordered a cured wood pigeon and sea trout as a started, was so beautiful Made! Plating was so wonderful. Main: Sunday roast (beef) and a catch of the day (sea bream) and was absolutely delightful. Dessert: lemon pistachio ice cream super lovely! I would highly recommend the creme brûlée as this is so beautiful made and high portion (I was too full to order but saw next table) We also got a piece of cherry rum white chocolate (I maybe wrong) and salted caramel as a final finisher. Wonderful! If you go on a sunny warm day you can sit on the triangle on the grass lawn, food and drink serve there too!

Such a special place. Tucked away in a tiny village in Devon but only 20 mins from Exeter. Delicious food served by helpful, professional people. A real treat to have the tasting menu and some fantastic wine. Highly recommend.

Our visit to Rodean Restaurant was to celebrate two birthdays. We knew the restaurant had a good reputation and I can confirm it is well deserved. Dietary requirements were accommodated and the food and service were excellent. I was also pleasantly surprised at what good value the meal was. My only regret is that we haven’t eaten there before. Looking forward to my next visit to Rodean. Colin Simpson

Absolutely delightful meal that we could not fault! Fantastic value for money and quality service. The Gravlax was my personal favourite and the trifle was beautiful! 100% recommend the taster menu and we will be returning very soon ☺️

Always fabulous service and excellent food from this family run restaurant. Did not disappoint on any level, if anything it gets better each time. My 'cheese three ways' starter was equal to any Michelin star offering we have had. Desserts were a triumph and the sticky toffee pudding is unrivalled! Thank you so much.

Yelp
The Rodean Restaurant is a little way out of Exeter, but is well worth making the effort to book. I only went to Sunday lunch there - sometimes you expect just a standard fare / carvery, however the fresh fish (seabass) was excellent and the others really enjoyed their beef. I find that you can tell how good a chef is by the standard of their stock and sauces - this place was very good indeed. The fresh bread (baked in their kitchen) was also very good indeed. It isn't cheap, but I felt that it offered excellent value for money. I'll defiately be going back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Yelp
Had my first visit to the Rodean yesterday evening and was delighted with both meal and ambience. I have quite specialist requirements, being vegetarian and gluten-averse, but they not only dealt with those requirements with an easy smile, but even offered me choices on each course. The food was delicious, beautifully served and with attentive, but unobtrusive, informal service. The decor is elegant, relaxed and unfussy, the atmosphere welcoming. I can't really find a fault with the place at all. Loved it! I wasn't paying on this ocassion, but 21 pounds for three courses seemed very reasonable for the quality of the food on offer.
