Rohet Garh, Near Jodhpur, Rajasthan - Explore & Book

"This 375-year-old fortified desert home of the descendants of the Rathores lies on the banks of a small lake teeming with birdlife, just south of Jodhpur. The Singh family still reside here and run the hotel, restored in traditional Rajput style and filled with historic trophies and delightful details. You enter through painted gates into a rambling, low rise building which has various wings surrounding grassy courtyards and a pretty landscaped garden, as well as plenty of breezy verandas and private retreats. The welcoming central courtyard with its garden and bougainvillea has been completely restored, with marble floors, a traditional arched veranda and a small marble fountain in the lawn. Surrounded by the scrublands of the Great Thar Desert, this is a quiet place of great charm and character, steeped in family history. But there is also plenty to do - the Jeep, camel or horse safaris into the desert and tribal areas are highly recommended. With Jodhpur just 45 minutes away, Rohet Garh also makes the perfect rural retreat from which to explore this historic city. Highs This is a friendly place that offers personal service without compromising your privacy The spacious rooms have pretty frescoes, beautiful bedcovers and hanging chairs The terrace with its lake view is just the place to recline The family are passionate about their heritage and meet each guest in person Spa with very good Ayurvedic massages There are Jeep safaris to Bishnoi villages, and wonderful horse-riding out in the desert. Or maybe stay the night at Rohet Garh's sister property, the swanky Mihirgarh Lows The beds can be rather hard It can be noisy if groups are staying Management is a bit slow if the family isn't there for some reason Staff tend to serve buffets when big groups are there, although a table d’hote menu can be requested There isn't much lounging area by the pool itself, but there's a sun terrace overlooking the lake and a rooftop terrace and bar" - Mary-Anne Denison-Pender

Good Ambience, food tastes good, warm people, green space, rooms are simply beautiful to stay, liked the idea of not having TV facility in the rooms. Cozy rooms, well mix of modernity and old architecture. It's like a small beautiful palace and a perfect gateway to live into some peace and quietness away from the city noise. Evening cultural program is another ad on.

It's a hidden gem in the region of Marwar. Beautiful heritage property with rich history. Food is amazing, service and hospitality is top notch. It's not less than a 5 star property, I was surprised when I saw 3 stars on Google. The place looks absolutely beautiful in the evening after sunset. It's has got great bird life as well. If you have any requirement or any wish, Vimal Kaka will make it possible. He and his team makes your stay royal and just amazing.

Initially we were very happy to see the hospitality offered and the rooms, too were very nice. Eventually, we were given water bottles with algae suspended in them. There were hardly any food options in the menu that they agreed to cook (most of the food items were not available in their kitchen). It wasn’t fully functional. They took over 1.5 hours to cook 2 dishes. WiFi network wasn’t even reaching the room premises. Therefore in all, we didn’t return very happy despite the beautiful premise.

Absolute luxury and that too far away from the chaos of the city.Very well maintained spacious rooms coupled with good trained staff. Must be tried for a family vocation. This is an experience which will remain with the visitors for life. All stars. They can offer good deals for corporate bookings.

Wonderful stay and arrangements at Rohet Garh. We booked the property on complete buy out for my son's engagement ceremony. Every engagement and requirement was properly taken care of by Vimal Kaka and his team. Vimal ji ensures that the guests receive exceptional service and always goes an extra mile to make your stay and event special. The rooms and the property is beautiful. There were some pitfalls here and there due to excessive rains but everything was handled promptly. Highly recommended for a heritage stay or any event.

The Rohet Garh Hotel is a lovely converted fort. It has been in the same family for generations and the current owner often pops in for a chat. We received a very warm welcome and chat in the bar. After our tour of the farms in the local district, it was back to the bar for and dinner. The room was nice and a good size. All of the staff were very friendly.
