Good, traditional Spanish restaurant, hidden in one of the side streets close to diagonal and paseo de gracia. Excellent food and service, ambience a bit cold without real charm.

We booked a table for our last night in Barcelona and it didn’t disappoint. Very nice place with a beautiful inside garden patio. The service was very good and polite. The food is a visit worthy. Their signature dish the “hake Roig Robí style” was exceptional. So all in all a very nice place to visit if you want a little more fine dining.

This is NOT a place where tourists are welcome! Despite a half full restaurant, we were banished to the back corner of a very drab room. We were expected to order on the spot, and—when we asked for a minute to look at the menu—were met with rolling eyes. Later, when we wanted to order a glass of wine to pair with our main course, we could not get anyone’s attention. We finally flagged someone down but not without more rolling eyes. The food was delicious but a very disappointing way to spend our last night in Spain.

We had our friend Christmas dinner here. The restaurant itself is really lovely and has an open garden in the back. Every dish we ordered was perfect and the waitstaff were professional. Would return.

Was a nice meal, a bit overpriced but the place it’s really beautiful.

High standards maintained over time for a classic in the city. The garden is marvelous but so are the different spaces inside, quite comfortable, elegant and warm. Fresh fish from the market cooked in the oven was the best, but so was the delicious ensaladilla. Staff are professional and classic in a good sense: they know their job well. Perfect place to treat a visit, celebrate with family or have a business dinner.

We went to this restaurant with a group of 19 people. It was very well organized, and they had a private room for us. The food was great, and the communication and service was excellent. I will definitely come back .

The food was okay and the service was lackluster. Ordered two bottles of wine and wine glasses were empty-servers would just walk by without refilling. And it’s not a Spanish cultural thing…as we had an excellent experience at a restaurant in Madrid. Supposed to have been a fine dining experience, but anything, but fine. Expectations were higher for a “Michelin” rated restaurant.

Yelp
GOOD FOOD - BEWARE, DON'T GET SCREWED FOR WHAT YOU PAY We visited the place, during a trip to Barcelona, because my wife wanted to try a catalan version of "arroceria". Party of 3: me,wife plus 8 year old kid. Me and the little one had the menu degustasion - 4 courses, which I will describe. - Welcoming dish a small cup of zucchini-cream + humus. Very good. - 1st dish. Onion soup - very good as well. - 2nd dish of the course - bacalao (cod) with mango cream & chopped tomato. Really great AND also quite spicy. Personally I love spiciness, BUT you need to warn your clients if something is spicy, much more if you have a small kid in the table!! [Foul No1, Roig Robi] - Dish No 3- oxtail (rabo del toro) with mashed potato - very good also (the kid loved it) - Sweet - yoghurt (greek style) + tangerine sorbe. It was OK. - Crema catalana:good. Now, the famous rice dish: One dish with rice + shrimp. Very tasty indeed. BUT : Dish price marked at the menu as "s/m" (meaning market price). Dish served contained just 4 (four) shrimps. Average size. Definetely not what you would call jumbo shrimps (jumbo size is 16-20/pound ). Probably Large. Price for 1(one) plate of rice with 4 (four ) shrimps:..... 46 Euros!!! Yes, FORTY SIXY EUROS!!! Just for one person, just a regular plate. Keep in mind that the 4 courses menu costed 45 Euros! Of course I told the waiter, who responded it was the market price - (for four shrimps???). But he would tell the chef. The chef came to us apologetic, claiming that the price of the shrimps was very high that week (last of March) due to bad sea conditions and the price of shrimps was as high as 125 E per kilo......Not shark, or polar bear, just freaking shrimps. Of course it was crazy, and I did insist that there were only 4 shrimps on the plate. He then claimed they weighed 180-200 grams (!!!) which of course was b/s for that size of shrimps. They were rather closer to 80 grams I'd say. At the end he said that we could pay whatever we thought, but did not make a specific price. Or even offer to cover for the dessert or the two glasses of wine. I told him "charge what you feel is right" but that was it. Such a pity... Spoiled the whole evening and the positive mood I had created, despite the glitch with the spicy dish. Conclusion: yes, they managed to screw the foreigners. So, guys. Yes you will eat nice food, at a pleasant but average environment. But take care of your wallet. Roig Robi: Good food is necessary to make it. But hardly enough...

Yelp
If you are up for highly refined Spanish cousin in town then you have come to the right place. My girlfriend and I have arrived this place totally under dressed not knowing this place was so seemingly up class restaurant. We went in anyway, just try to embarrass ourselves; what do you know? It turned out to be a culinary experience. They have eye dieseling menu but we ordered paella since we really are at beginners level of Spanish cuisine. It was brilliantly done. Rice cooked to perfection but fully infused with beautiful aroma of the prawns and saffron in the paella. A tad salty to accompany the wine the waiter could recommend if requested. Nothing else was in it but it is the beauty of such a simple version of this traditional Spanish dish. Be prepared to pay for the exquisite food as well as the exceptional service. In our honest opinion it is well worth it. It would defiantly help if you dress up for it especially if you can't deal with the embarrassment standing out from the rest of the dinners in a bad way which I barely survived from.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant with excellent service and great wine selection. Beautiful private patio in the back which makes a great setting for a romantic dinner. My appetizer - tomato salad with anchovies was excellent. The main dish - cod in three flavors - way too salty, thus, four stars. My friends ordered duck which looked and tasted much better. Should order it next time.

Yelp
Seriously, seriously good food. The risotto with truffles is definitely the best risotto I've ever had and among the best food I've ever tasted. The service is excellent as well. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Barcelona.

Yelp
Walked in at 13:30 when they opened for lunch and were led to a very nice secluded table. Outdoor patio seating was reserved so if you need open air call ahead. Service was exemplary and our dishes ranging from grilled octopus hummus, sea cucumber risotto and the RR hake were excellent. Go here if you want to be pampered!

Yelp
Not the best value for sure, it is a little overpriced. Anxovies and salmon were not on par with the other dishes in the menu. Not the best "arroces" in Barcelona but they are good. Great service.

Yelp
Some plates hit; some missed. Best thing I had was probably the spinach-based amuse bouche. The meat plates weren't particularly flavorful. The orange and coconut desert was a little heavy on bitterness. Good service.

Yelp
Roig Robi makes for an exceptionally classy dining experience. I've eaten there twice, for lunch, as this makes it more affordable. The first time, I had melt-in-the mouth, almost too rich to finish foie gras (which was a first for me), followed by quite easily the best sole I've ever tasted. The sole was done in baby fillets, coated in light and fluffy batter plus the bones deep fried in the same batter (edible and crunchily delicious!). The service and ambience were spot-on and the sommelier recommended wine that complemented the meal to perfection. The second time, my dining partner and I sat in the garden and the fine dining had the added bonus of being a sun-kissed experience. Oh, and the lunch sitting starts late, we were amongst the first there and our table was booked for two pm. Definitely worth a visit for a special occasion!

Yelp
Of all the standout restaurants in Barcelona, on this trip Roig Robi stood out the most! The food, the wine, the ambiance, the decor, the service - everything was as close to perfect as it gets. In fact, after eating here the first night, we canceled our other reservations because we could not bear the thought of it being a "one night only" event. As others have said, the risotto was the best you could possibly imagine - similarly, the mushroom soup, mixed salad (!) and Crema Catalan. Even the bread and olive oil were amazing! As for attention to details, Guiellermo was the embodiment of outstanding customer service - the second night he remembered all of our preferences without even having to ask. He could not have been more competent or engaging. We keep a list of restaurants to re-visit in our travels - this one shot to the top for our next trip to Spain.
