The Best Matcha Lattes in Los Angeles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The matcha at Rōk doesn’t hold back. The duo is a double-layered drink with a bold, concentrated base, a thick layer of matcha-infused cream, and vivid green streaks dripping dramatically down the sides of the cup. It’s a more intense version of Stagger’s double matcha drink, and despite the strong matcha flavor, the whole thing drinks like a milkshake more than a latte. Go half-sweet if you’re not looking for dessert in a cup." - cathy park

Rōk Coffee & Tea - Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Line over the “o” in its name aside, Rōk and its coffee drinks follow a familiar format. The cream-topped lattes look eerily similar to others in Koreatown, especially the “duos,” where both the base and cream are infused (like matcha-on-matcha). The drinks are intense in flavor, with streaks of matcha or espresso dripping down the sides, and unless you’re looking for dessert in a cup, order them half-sweet. The cafe resembles a spa waiting room with a large fake tree in the center, but there’s not much seating, so treat this more as a grab-and-go spot. photo credit: Cathy Park" - Cathy Park

Google
new cafe love their duo so much if ur into thick matcha drinks with cream top pls try their matcha duo it was match with a sweet note. got surprised with their mugwort duo i have never seen mugwort drink before it was really nice. however in my taste i would order it a bit less sweet 😊 overall worth trying

Google
It was a beautiful shop as well as a good matcha. The cream on the double matcha tasted like the crème in a crème puff, if anyone has had a matcha crème puff. It was good, and they’re open late which makes it even better. The matcha was more pricey that’s usual for the normal size but it was good, the mugwort matcha was actually quite interesting but i did prefer the normal matcha duo. The mugwort tastes like earthy and a but like peppermint.

Google
My coworker mentioned that the coffee there was good and she bought coffee for me this morning. I had high expectations for the drink, but I was surprised to see green tea powder mixed with the cocoa powder. I didn't order a green tea latte, but the staff sprinkled green tea powder on top. Instead of making a new one, the staff just scraped off the powder with a spoon, then put cocoa powder on top of the latte, and handed it to my coworker without any apology. The drink was delicious, but due to the staff's attitude, I won't be going back.

Went to Rok Coffee around 8:20 AM (20 minutes after they opened), and I was the only customer there along with one other person who was ahead of me. There were two female workers and one male worker behind the counter. If they were busy, I wouldn’t even expect amazing service, but since I was one of the first few customers there, I naturally became more aware of their service and attitude. Mind you, this is not my first time at Rok Coffee. 1. The girl taking my order was not kind, which wouldn’t have been a big deal if they were under pressure or in a rush, but it was just bare minimum, below-average customer service, which made the rest of my experience even worse. 2. I ordered a Café Duo and two other drinks. As the worker was sprinkling some kind of cocoa powder or tiramisu powder on top of the drink, she seemed to accidentally sprinkle some matcha powder on the Café Latte. I noticed this after the worker let out a loud scream, which made me realize she had made a mistake. I expected her to make a new drink, but instead, she just scooped out the matcha powder with a spoon, leaving clear visible remnants of the powder in the drink. Again, this would have been somewhat understandable if it was busy inside, but mind you, I was one of the only few customers there early in the morning on a Wednesday. 3. She handed me the drinks without any apology or acknowledgment that I had seen her mistake, and even placed the drink on the counter far from my reach, so I had to stretch over to grab it. I saw the male worker earlier putting drinks closer to the customer’s side of the counter, so I expected the same from her, but she clearly didn’t have that basic courtesy, even after messing up my drink. 4. I was already frustrated, so I asked for a coffee carrier since I couldn’t handle three drinks on my own. She gave me one… which only had space for two cups. At that point, I really couldn’t understand why she didn’t have the decency to ask if I needed a carrier when it was clear I came alone. This probably wouldn’t have bothered me as much if it weren’t for the attitude and poor service beforehand. 5. Why didn’t I confront her or ask for a new drink? I bought those drinks for my coworkers, and I was on my way to work, so I didn’t have time to deal with it. That’s on me, but I just wish they would hire better staff or properly train their workers to serve with basic decency and attentiveness, especially when it’s not busy. Seriously, this is my first time ever writing a review because it genuinely ruined my whole day. Will probably not be returning.

Google
I went for Rok's soft opening and the line was (as expected) LONG! Took me almost an hour from the start until getting my drink (hence the 3 stars for service), but pretty happy with how it turned out. Decent quality matcha and quite spoiling for me who loved sweet drink. Its default came sweetened, but just at the right level. The matcha cream top added creaminess to the drink, but not overpowering. I might have other preferences for matcha, but wouldn't be mindful to come back! Besides I was kinda hooked by their caffe duo as well, which was basically caffe latte and coffee cream top. The place was nicely designed for hanging out as there were some seats and smartly without desks, avoiding people sitting for long time working or studying LOL.

Google
I’m a matcha snob and can confidently say that this was one of the best matcha lattes I have EVER had! It was worth the wait to get in (I went on a Saturday). I got the matcha duo which I highly recommend.

Google
THE BEST matcha ive gotten all around LA! Yes it is a bit pricier ($7 for a small cup) but it is SO worth it. I never crave for any store’s matcha until this one. The richness, creaminess, everything is perfect. Sweetness is customizable. The store is always busy with long line but they’re relatively fast. Wait time is just 5-10mins

Claudia Michelle Chandra

Google
Their matcha is one of the best in LA and worth the long wait around the corner. The matcha duo is super rich and used quality matcha. Price is comparable to other cafes serving matcha in the area. Will definitely be returning!!

Yelp
The Matcha Duo is so good!! The service was great as well! Wish there was more outdoor seating though.

Yelp
GF seems to crack out on ts... I guess it's 5 stars from me. Personally, not my thing matcha still tastes like sweet grass to me. But she loves it here, and the vibe's cool. Staff was chill, service was fast, so I can't even hate. Solid spot if you're into that kinda drink. You can park in the front of the joint for free, but if you wanna chill there longer go behind to the parking lot and pay $2-3 for parking, they also offer 20 min parking for free.

Yelp
It's rare for matcha places to meet the hype on social media, but this spot actual deserves the recognition it's been getting. The wait to order was long since I came on a Saturday, but the workers inside were all working efficiently and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks after finally ordering. There's some seating and cool decorations inside, but it was also packed so maybe not the best place if you want a quiet study area. Now for what's really important: the matcha. First of all, you can actually taste the matcha. It's rich and creamy and the matcha cream top adds a little more sweetness pairs perfectly with drink. The sweetener was not overwhelming and it really allowed the matcha flavor to shine. I'm not ashamed to admit I downed this in 5 minutes.
google avatar

Yelp
Long line that's moves pretty fast, so don't let that intimidate you. When we came the coffee portion of the menu was not available. I got the sparkling yuzu matcha, and I can confidently say I understand the hype. Matcha was smooth, strong yet mild, and the sweetness of the yuzu paired perfectly with the carbonation giving it a refreshing zing. Food: 9.5/10 Service: 9/10 Ambience: ??? (Outdoor waiting in line the entire time$

Yelp
In the pretty matcha saturated area of K-town, this was a try once and skip all other times for me. TLDR: It's solid, but I can think of three places within a five minute drive that are better in taste and value. That being said, Rok is decent matcha and a gorgeous space, it just doesn't outcompete its neighbors in the categories listed above. I had the double matcha (Matcha Duo) and it wasn't anything special - size of the cup was small, ice ratio was okay, matcha wasn't super sweet or flavorful. Honestly I was kind of disappointed given the online hype, but nowadays with how saturated the market it I think it's just harder to make a good impression. Give it a try, you might feel differently and we might just have different tastes!

Yelp
I recommend visiting at 11 a.m. on a Sunday because there was practically no line and the drinks came out within 5 minutes. There was also a good turn around of tables so we managed to snag some seats. They're known for their matcha so we ordered the matcha duo and cafe duo for the best of both worlds. The matcha was rich and creamy and the cream top was perfect. The matcha latte isn't whisked, probably because it takes too long, so they use a concentrate which you can taste at the bottom if you don't stir it. I also loved the coffee but make sure to mix it first so the syrup doesn't sit at the bottom. I don't see many places with a coffee cream top but they nailed it. There's street parking, which we luckily found, but not too many spots were available so be prepared.

Yelp
There was a line out the door around 11:30 AM on a Tuesday but the line moved fairly quickly. I got the Matcha Duo with oat milk, half sweet and it was perfect!! Not too sweet, not too creamy, and well balanced with the matcha flavors still shining through. It was one of the best if not best matcha drinks I have had here in LA, comparable to the ones I've had in Japan this past summer. They supposedly use ceremonial grade matcha from Uji, Japan and that's why it's so good! My husband got the sparkling yuzu matcha and his was also delicious!! So refreshing and light! I would definitely get this again too. Inside seating area is cute and aesthetic with several tables. Not too big of a seating area but we had no problem finding seats as it seemed like most people were getting drinks to go. Parking: valet or street

Yelp
Rok was the matcha cafe I was most excited to try out. The line didn't take that long and honestly moved really fast! I had teo other people with me and so we got the Matcha Duo, Mango Matcha Duo, and Blueberry Matcha Duo. I'm telling you that ALL of them were a hit. The regular Matcha Duo was already really good. It was refreshing, had the right amount of sweetness, and so so creamy. The Mango Matcha Duo had the right taste of mango and the mixture was delicious. The Blueberry Matcha Duo was the one I was scared to try and that's only because I had a bad experience in the past. But this one was really good and honestly healed me! I asked what matcha they use and they said they weren't able to disclose it which is understandable! The wait is worth it and please, please if you are in the area, get in line.

Yelp
I'll admit it--I came here because of FOMO. Many times I drove by to see a very long line going out onto the street. Finally stopped by on a weekend morning when I snagged a parking space out front on Olympic. Their parking structure behind it was full. I tried the matcha duo for $7.50. This iced beverage is an einspanner with the layer of whipped matcha and cream topping, matcha syrup on the base and a little sweetened matcha powder as a garnish atop the cream topping. If you like your matcha with a milky cream finish in taste, then this is the drink for you. The jury is still out on my own feelings toward matcha. I notice after sampling around town and in NYC that Korean cold matcha drinks are too light in matcha for my taste, and Japanese ones (while in Japan) are too strong. I prefer something in the middle, leaning a little more Japanese than Korean. The menu also has coffee beverages that I will try the next time I'm brave enough to hunt for a parking spot in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I came on a Sunday morning around 8:15 AM and the line was less than 5 minutes :) I had to get the strawberry matcha, and it was hands-down the best I've ever had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the matcha cream top was absolute heaven--rich, smooth, and the perfect finishing touch. I went with two others who ordered the yuzu matcha tonic and that was pretty good and refreshing too. I'll definitely be back to try their matcha duo.

Yelp
Okaayyy rōk ! In my personal opinion, this place lives up to the hype. We went on a Saturday in the late morning and there was barely a line (although I have heard stories of people waiting for a long time here). I got the double matcha, which was a typical matcha latte with matcha cream top. My friend got the sparkling yuzu matcha. Both drinks had such intense yet light and refreshing matcha profiles! You definitely pay for quality here. Unfortunately, I docked a star because the location doesn't come without its downsides; the parking situation is pretty dire with a very small lot in the back, otherwise expect to find street parking. This time around, they were undergoing reno, so drinks were limited to 2 per customer and I cant really comment on the study-space potential just yet. Staff were helpful and friendly. This is one of my top picks in LA to satisfy my matcha kick, for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Truly a MATCHA made in heaven with @rokcoffeeandtea . I finally tried out this viral Koreatown cafe specializing in ceremonial matcha lattes, and the hype is definitely well warranted! The quality of the matcha they use in their drinks is definitely standout, and I was absolutely in love with their signature matcha duo, which features a matcha latte topped with the creamiest matcha cream top. Right now, they're also currently offering seasonal fruit duo lattes on their menu, which come in strawberry, mango and blueberry flavors. These drinks are the perfect, lighter refreshers for the summer, and I love how they contain REAL fruit purée that go perfectly with the grassier notes of matcha. I'm still a matcha purist at heart, but these drinks are great if you don't love the flavor of matcha or want something a bit lighter. Free parking available in the parking garage connected to the building. I would expect a bit of a wait, but lines move quickly and so does tables opening up on the inside, if you want to sit to chat or do some work. Also highly recommend checking out La Sung Tofu next door either before or after Rok!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the Strawberry Mugwort Duo and it was yummy! That said, I wish the mugwort flavor stood out more -- I usually look for uniqueness when I try new coffee shops, as cream-top drinks always end up tasting the same everywhere (they're always good because... it's a cream top LOL). Still tasty, just not very distinct.

Yelp
This matcha rage in K Town... my friends and I were waiting for dinner at Lasung and I grabbed a matcha duo. The two stores are connected, but I didn't wanted wait til our table was ready. There was a short line at Rok, and it moved quickly. The interior is really pretty but packed. The matcha duo is pricy ($7.50) for its size. Taste wise, personally I'd prefer a stronger matcha flavor. I don't think I will go out of my way to get matcha here, but if I'm in the area, I would.

Yelp
I kept hearing about this place finally decided to go Parking is hard, there is a structure next door but not many spaces, and street parking The space is cute, nice earthy industrial vibe. There is some space to sit inside or outside as well. Service is good, friendly staff :) I ordered the famous matcha duo that is a matcha latte with a matcha foam top. I did not alter it except for oat milk since I'm Lactose intolerant. I also got the vanilla iced latte! There is a lot of pastry options as well, at least since I was there early morning The matcha duo is phenomenal. Great balanced earthy taste, the foam top adds sweetness as you sip. Tip: don't use a straw to drink it, when you sip from the actual cup the you get a bit of the foam and matcha latte in every sip This place is similar to stagger. I definitely recommend to all matcha fans and think it is definitely deserves allllll the hype it is getting

Yelp
After seeing ROK everywhere on social media for months, I had to give it a try. My friend took us out here and on a Saturday afternoon, the wait was only half an hour (expect a wait). Service was quick and attentive and their menu ranges from Mugwort, to matcha, and lattes. I had their double matcha which was delicious; the cream balanced the earthiness of the matcha without overpowering it - I also found their matcha to be earthy and grassy, as compared to most cafes which add a ton of sweetener. There's ample seating inside but expect to wait for a seat.

Yelp
So we've been here several times, because this is actually one our favorite matcha spots! This place gets really busy, so just keep in mind that the lines can sometimes be ridiculously long. But it also goes by still relatively quick! Weekends are obviously the busiest hours! Service is very friendly and they work really hard so I appreciate them especially during busy hours! If you come here, come for their matcha duo. That's their signature best drink. I think they tried doing a lavender matcha, but to be honest they missed the mark with that one and many other places make better lavender matchas to be honest. But matcha duos are where it's at! I know some people prefer stagger or rate stagger higher, but having tried both back to back to back -- We went back and forth, and a few times we even gave the edge to Rōk -- wherever you stand, at the very least I think we can agree they are both in the same tier -- they're the S class of matcha spots! They have some seating inside but it can be tight especially with such a popular place, most just take their drink to go! But for what it is, the place is very neat! We street parked, there are a few nearby streets to go to!
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly a bit skeptical about this place since everyone seems to rave about it. It did not disappoint, we waited about 15 minutes to even order but it went by quick. The matcha is SUPER creamy. I enjoyed the taste of the matcha and the two layers of the matcha duo. I love the vibes in there and although very busy, there was seating.

Yelp
I have been passing by RoK and Lasung Tofu the last few months and there has been a crowd of people every time I pass by. I finally got to try RoK last weekend as I had dinner Lasung. On Sunday evening, the line was pretty long, but it did move fairly quickly. After looking through the menu, I opted to try the matcha duo (which I think is one of the more popular drinks). Once you order, the drink does come out fairly quickly. I waited about 25ish minutes from waiting in line to getting my drink. As for the drink itself, it was super creamy and pretty good. The matcha was not bitter and the creaminess made the drink taste pretty smooth. I am lactose intolerant, so I liked the fact that they had non-dairy option (however, I imagine the dairy option is even creamier). I definitely would like to try the mugworth duo, which I think is another popular drink. Although I did think that the drink was pretty good and would definitely like to come back, I am not sure if the wait was worth it for the drink. Next time I go, if there is a line, if there is a long line, I probably will pass, but willing to go when there are shorter lines. A couple of logistics. I think there is a small lot, but I couldn't find it, so I street parked. The street parking is slightly sparse right by the restaurant, but if you are willing to walk a few blocks, there is plenty of spaces along Olympic. There is also some seating inside the restaurant (super cute in there) and outside.

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots in LA for matcha! Definitely now understand all the hype around this place. I had the matcha duo with almond milk and less cream, and it was one of the smoothest drinks I've ever had. A bit sweet but I loved how strong the matcha flavor was in both the latte and cream portions of the drink. The line was around 30min on a Sunday afternoon, but I received my drink really quickly after ordering. The cafe seating indoors was full, and there wasn't much seating outdoors either. I've never tried mugwort before but was quite intrigued by all the mugwort options here, eyeing this for next time!
google avatar

Neel K.

Yelp
The drinks are absolutely beautiful, but the recommended sugar is sickly sweet. I could barely taste any of the matcha over the strawberry syrup unfortunately :( If I return I'll definitely try their double matcha, but I just don't think it stands out or even holds its own against all the many amazing Matcha places so close to it in LA. I will say, the labels they stick onto the drinks are beautiful and now live on my hydroflask!
google avatar

Yelp
Rōk Coffee and Tea has been open for a few months now and has been bookmarked ever since I saw a few IG reels when they first opened up. I don't frequent LA often but really wanted to try this place out! Here's what we ordered: **Coconut Matcha Einspanner: I love everything coconut and the fact they used actual coconut water was amazing. The coconut water was overpowering but that was expected. The matcha itself was creamy and so delicious. One of the best, refreshing matcha drinks I've ever had at any establishment. (5/5) **Lotus Einspanner: Definitely on the sweeter side but all the flavors worked really well together. From the espresso so the einspanner and everything in between, it was all above expectations. (5/5) Despite the long line going out the door, drinks came out fairly quickly. I wouldn't plan on sitting inside due to the small interior area. We will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Came here with two friends a little after 8:30pm on Saturday. The actual store itself is temporarily closed due to plumbing repairs so we followed signs to the restaurant next door to place our order (a bunch of people were outside with their matcha drinks so we knew we were in the right place). There's a QR code on the wall for the menu and also a physical menu at the front of the line. After a short wait, we were able to place our orders. - Mugwort Latte: my friend got this, and although I liked it upon first sip, neither of my friends were initially a fan (it did eventually grow on one of them though). It's a bit on the sweeter side, which I didn't mind, and there was almost a nutty(?) taste to it. - Matcha Latte: strong matcha and minimal sweetness! There's a tiny bit of that bitter matcha aftertaste, but I liked how concentrated the flavor was (thankfully did not taste like matcha flavored milk lol). Whatever matcha they use is great for lattes. (For comparison, I also tried Stagger and thought they tasted very similar, except Stagger's was just slightly sweeter) Also shoutout to the guy who was taking orders and bringing everyone's drinks out! Upon bringing out my order he noticed that they forgot to add the cream top, so he brought it back in for me, though it must have been pretty busy since I ended up waiting a total of almost 20 minutes for my drink. I think my only complaint is that the ice to drink ratio was not super ideal (seemed like almost half the cup was ice). My friend is a slow drinker, but even she was able to finish her latte before we left (so there wasn't a lot to drink). It was great taste-wise though! Would be open to trying their other drinks the next time I'm in the area

Yelp
Crazy line outside on a Saturday evening but that was to be expected honestly . My friend was hyping up this place and I have been seeing this place all over social media. We waited about 20 minutes before we got to the front. I got the Matcha Duo and the Lotus Einspanner. The drinks was kind of small for the price we paid but the Matcha Dup was really good, however, the Lotus Einspanner was just really sweet coffee with Biscoff cookie sprinkled on top. So if you really like sweet, I'd advise the Lotus Einspanner. Also if you request no ice, the drink is like half filled so I wouldn't advise that. There was plenty of seatings inside and there were a good amount of people studying but ngl it looked kinda hard to study there especially when there was so many people inside. But I would definitely come back to try the other matcha combinations!
google avatar

Mariela O.

Yelp
Wow is all I can say! I had been wanting to check this place out for the longest and I'm so glad I did! I've been really into Matcha lately and though I usually just have my Matcha lattes without the sweetener, I give in for a little sweetness here and there. There's no words to describe this drink. It was just outstanding! The taste, the frothiness, the sweetness was not that sweet! I wish they had a bigger size LOL The person taking our order was friendly and although we were outside, we stepped in to use the restroom and it seemed like this shop is inside of a restaurant? Not quite sure but I'll figure it out since I'll definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Chloe K.

Yelp
honestly a let down w all the good reviews. not overhyped tho, the matcha was a rly good drink! foam was very thick and a unique taste. i could taste some honey or type of guava/sweetener. i like the rest of the drink not just the cream top, it overall is a good drink 8.5/10! servers r so nice even with the long lines but the place is tiny for the crowd, come early and parking is also hard too fyi.
google avatar

Alex J.

Yelp
This is my new favorite matcha in LA. It's bold, smooth, rich, creamy, just sweet enough, wonderful matcha flavor, and just a knock-out of a matcha latte! Well worth the price and wait, both of which are not anything out of the ordinary for LA. I just wish/hope they have an actual indoor cafe instead of just the outdoor seating, there isn't much available especially when it's a hot day trying to find shade
google avatar

Iris G.

Yelp
I was recommended to this place by a friend who is a matcha lover. First off, parking. There is free street parking. However, it is very limited. There is plenty of parking structure off Ardmore St. As you walk in the double doors you will be presented with a long countertop followed by a beautiful decorative tree in the middle of the room. The place is clean and there is plenty of seating . The service is good. Very friendly staff. I ordered the matcha duo with oat milk. 10/10, very rich in taste and creamy. I'm very intrigued by their menu. Will be returning to try all the other drinks.
google avatar

Joann K.

Yelp
Hmmmm.....not my style I got the match duo and it was weak and the cream top was slimy, not sure why. It tasted weird, drank half and threw away the rest. I think they were doing some construction to the cafe, cuz i had to order from the outside of lasung tofu. Lots of street parking available during the day, just make sure to check the signs.

Yelp
~ Best Matcha I've Had!! ~ I inly waited 5 mins!! I went on a weekday soo the service was really nice and fast! There's only outdoor seating and inside is a restaurant. The bathroom is clean and big.

Rheina C.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon and wow was it busy! The cafe is really cute and has cool modern decor. There is some seating inside and outside but definitely not enough seats for everyone. Tried the matcha and the coffee and everything was sooo good! The matcha is on the sweeter side in my opinion, but that's normally how I like my matcha. The eispanner was also so good! Love the cookie bites that came in it as well. Overall super good but would maybe recommend going on a week day if you don't want to wait as long.

Yelp
It's been the hot spot in KTown for a minute and I've been a few times. That matcha duo just melts in my mouth every time. Legit, mouthfeel is 10/10 on their signature, creamy drink and well worth the trip to Rōk alone. It keeps me coming back! I've tried other drinks and like them all - but the Matcha Duo - it's too good not to get on every trip I'm in. I love the tree inside that allows for gorgeous green drink on white tree social media pics on point. They have some parking in the garage, you just need to hop and jump around the corner but then you're good to order. LA is a late rising town and Rōk opening early (for this town) at 8am on the weekends is great, too! Love Rōk and I'll be back to fill myself with more matcha duo soon~!

Yelp
This spot officially made it onto my list of top matcha places! The matcha here is incredibly thick, creamy, and flavorful. Parking can be a bit tricky since there's no dedicated lot. You can valet park in the garage for $2 or try your luck with free street parking. The interior is pretty minimal with limited seating, but it's cozy enough for a quick break. There are charging cords available, which is a nice touch, though there's no WiFi if you're planning to work or study. Drinks came out quickly despite the crowd. It can get busy and even have a line forming outside, so plan ahead if you're in a rush. Totally worth the wait in my opinion! Matcha Duo ($7) - creamy, smooth, and thick Strawberry Matcha Duo ($8) - strong flavorful strawberry puree - matcha not as strong

Yelp
Came during noon time on a friday. Parking is located inside the building but it is valet only. $2. we decided to park on the street as it is free. Inside is nicely decorated. There's a few tables with seats. It was packed inside but able to get a table. Saw a few people studying there as they had tables and outlets available. Didn't check to see if there was wifi. Order: $7 matcha duo: my friend really enjoyed it and said its one of the better matcha she had. im not the biggest matcha fan but i would say it definitely tasted like matcha lol $8 strawberry matcha duo: this one wasnt as strong of a matcha taste compared the the regular duo. the strawberry in here was very strong and fresh. i really liked the drink. it was creamy.

Yelp
Creamy, smooth, and bold matcha flavor! They were doing construction when I visited, and I almost missed that they were open just around the corner. There was little to no wait on a Thursday afternoon, which was a nice surprise. The Matcha Duo had me happily drowning in matcha. I ordered it half sweet, and it was just right. I also tried a sip of the mugwort for the first time, but for me, matcha definitely wins.

Yelp
The matcha wave has been in for a while and their Matcha Duo sure is one of them ones out there! Don't be scared of the line, service does go thru pretty quick after you've secure some street parking. Absolutely taste that rich matcha with the creaminess of the Duo - also open till 10 for night time cravings!

Yelp
Came here on a random weekday and had no line. Some seatings outside and order and pickup at the door. I got the matcha duo and sparking yuzu matcha. Very creamy matcha latte! Great cream top with slight sweetness. The best sparkling matcha I've had! Tonic was perfect and blends well with matcha and yuzu. Tasted refreshing on this hot day. Would love to come back if the line isn't too long.

Yelp
The matcha here was so good! The flavor was strong and very creamy. The cups were small, but there were free milk subs. There was a decent line, but it went quickly and we got our drinks in under 10 min. Would def come back!

Yelp
Great matcha! The matcha duos were creamy and high quality, definitely one of my favorite matcha spots. They have a limit of 2 drinks per person. The interior has a beautiful tree inside and a few spots to sit but not many tables. The workers were friendly and although there was a long line, it moved pretty fast. There's a good amount of side street parking around the cafe aswell!

Yelp
I'm never in this area for a few reasons but my friend from out of town chose this spot and I braved the chaos in ktown. We got lucky at 4 pm on a Thursday: found street parking and only waited 5-7 min to order. Rōk's matcha was pure bliss from my first sip to my last. Felt so feral using my straw as a makeshift spoon to finish the remnants of the matcha cream top. Mugwort matcha stood out to me due to its herbal and nutty undertones. Coconut matcha was light and refreshing. It's also 2 drinks max per person because of that matcha shortage y'all

Yelp
Hype is real. Got two matcha drinks. From here. Took one sip of my double matcha and I could instantly taste the quality. Didn't need any more sweetner. Was so perfect. Best matcha drink I had to date Also got the matcha latte. So good also. Just as good as the double. Can't go wrong with any drink from here. Parking is free in the structure for 30 min fyi. I asked the security guard there

Yelp
One of the most delicious matcha drinks I've had. The strawberry matcha duo was super rich but in the best way possible. I then tried my bf's classic matcha duo and liked it even more and would get that next time. The creaminess really stands out from other matcha drinks I've had. The menu is small which I also liked bc no choice fatigue. When I went recently, they were doing repairs in the cafe so most ordered to-go, although the neighboring restaurant allowed us to sit. Line was long outside even on a weekday afternoon but moved pretty quickly.

Yelp
Damn this was probably the best matcha I've had to date. I tried the matcha duo with oat milk and requested it 50% sweet- this was an intense matcha (matcha cream top on matcha base) but I loved it! I think next time I'll ask if I can lower the sweetness a little more. I wanted to try the mugwort duo as well but I was told I couldn't modify the sweetness level for that drink. I came on a weekday afternoon, and there was a short line of about 4-5 people waiting outside. I waited about 15 min in total before getting my order. Sadly there wasn't any indoor seating available today, and there were only a few tables outside and they were all occupied. Would recommend this place for people who are serious about their matcha and ok grabbing it to go!

Yelp
if you arrive before 10 am on a sunday, you can find street parking and receive your order within 20-25 minutes. a decent amount of natural light filters through the storefront's large windows. the area is relatively clean. seating options include booths, ottomans, and stools. i sampled two drinks during my visit. 01. LOTUS (BISCOFF) EINSPANNER, less agave syrup ($7.50) 10/10!!! my friend let me know her favorite drink at rok is the lotus, and i can most certainly see why. the espresso is POWERFUL, the whipped cream is sweet without being saccharine, and the biscoff crumbled on top is a delightful add-on. you can reduce the sweetness by requesting for less biscoff and/or less agave syrup. 02. MATCHA DUO, 50% sweet ($7.50) 7.5/10! overall, the drink was decent and not diluted. however, given the price, i expected the flavor of matcha to be much stronger. the matcha duo at rok feels a lot more balanced compared to the double matcha at stagger coffee, but this may be due to the fact that i requested for the sweetness to be reduced at rok but not at stagger.

Yelp
Upon walking in, I saw DOGS inside which is fantastic. Love dogs and any place that welcomes dogs is top shelf business to me. However, inside is much smaller than I thought. There is seating available inside and outside but there's a lot of people so may the odds be ever in your favor. There was a line to order but wasn't too bad. Drinks came out pretty fast. Lotus Einspanner- YASSSS this drink was expletive FANTASTIC. The only negative about this drink was that it only comes in one size . It was creamy and despite the sweetness I could still taste the espresso/coffee which I love. I would 100% could go back for this drink alone i just hope it's good a second time.

Yelp
this has to be one of my new favorite matcha spots. we got the iconic matcha duo and strawberry matcha duo and both were so creamy and flavorful while not being too heavy. the colors of the matcha / strawberry are so vibrant and the ingredients taste super fresh. our drinks also came out rather quickly despite how crowded it was, and there was ample seating. i know that some have noted that they dislike the generous amount of strawberry puree in the strawberry matcha duo, but it wasn't overwhelming or too sweet for me. i could still taste the matcha well! i'm also highly sensitive to caffeine but neither drink gave me noticeable jitters. drinking in slow increments + staying hydrated with water definitely helped. another note: the drinks don't go easy on those who are lactose intolerant (we learned this the hard way). i'd highly suggest paying the extra $ for oat/almond milk if that's you! be warned that if you come on the weekends (especially saturday) there will most likely be a long line no matter what time you come. we waited for about 40 minutes and street parking was also a pain to find. however, although i'm often let down by hyped-up spots with long waits, i'm pleasantly surprised and think that the matcha here deserves all the hype that it gets. definitely would recommend giving it a try at least once!!

Yelp
The duo matcha I had here was creamy and delicious! The drink had a great concentration of matcha and it wasn't too bitter! It was well-balanced with the sweetener they put in it. The matcha cream was thick and tasty. Mixing it with the matcha milk made the drink overall creamy and delicious. I love creamy drinks so this was right up my alley. It was also smooth to drink. For $7, this was pretty decent considering their several matcha competitors in Ktown. I thought the ice ratio in my drink was good, but my friend got too much ice in hers, so maybe work on the consistency with that. When I visited, the interior was closed due to a plumbing issue which was a bummer. Nonetheless, ordering was pretty quick and easy despite there being a lot of people. There were also some seats and tables outside to relax enjoy the matcha. For parking, there is a parking structure in the back that charges $2 for lunch time and $3 for dinner time. Otherwise, it will be street parking. Overall, loved my drink and I would love to come back to try the different flavors and see the cafe interior once the plumbing issue is fixed.

Yelp
Rok Cafe is a pretty nice spot with a clean, cozy vibe. The only thing is, there's not a ton of seating for how many people come in, so it can fill up quickly. Their matcha is very earthy-tasting -- exactly how I like it -- and the drinks overall are really good. You can tell they put effort into quality and flavor. Service is super quick and the staff is really nice, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, just be ready to grab a seat fast if you want to hang out.
