Yelp
I was tempted away by the Cav across the road last time I was here, so thought I'd give Roma a go this time. As I wait for my food I can tell you the following:
¤ Super busy but good friendly efficient service
¤ Nice buzzing vibe, unobtrusive music at chatting level
¤ Coffee was just OK. Weak & my soy piccolo had the unmistakable milky tinge that crops up when the frother pipes aren't wiped properly.
¤ Really uncomfortable: I've moved from a tall stool with no foot support, to a hard bench with a pipe against my back in an icy wind tunnel outside, to a soft chair but with a low back inside. I feel like moving again but that would be a dick move. Mumma needs lumbar support!
¤ LOVVVVVVE the unexpected political/Commie art around the place!
¤ Definitely not a 1 $ rating as stated in Yelp. $16 breakfasts, $12 burgers. And i just realised my coffee must have been $4.50!
OK will update when my food arrives/I eat it...
I'm torn. The fetta was fried and AMAZING, I've never had fried fetta before. I asked for hot sauce & they brought out a really good home made one. But the tiny serving of mushrooms taste so much like bacon I can't eat them. (OBVIOUSLY cooked in the bacon fat, see pic for serving size) Meat lovers will love this place but I'd call it non-veg friendly even though the menu begs to differ.
So I essentially have just paid over $20 for adequate coffee, two small slices of toast, a small tomato sliced in halves and not fully baked, a slice of amazing fried fetta and a handful of baby spinach leaves. And delicious hot sauce. Hrrrmph.
