Really cool spot in the middle of, and under, the town. Well worth the entry fee. It goes on for quite a ways beyond what you can see from the street. Most of the buildings in the immediate area are built on top. There are restrooms about midway through but wow…pretty rough. Might wanna find one before you go in.

You can just look into it from the outside without ticket, but that is less than 1% of this place. The ticket is 4 EUR but worths it apparently. You can explore the whole amphitheater underground. It is merged with some modern buildings, showing off very unique view from inside. The best thing is that people rarely buy the ticket. So you can enjoy your time without noise and crowd. The place is not cleaned well, though, which was the only bad thing to me. There were many wastes seemed thrown from the open above. I spared some time gathering the wastes for easier cleaning of staffs' :) Actually, this place gave me the best experience in Catania. I wish you have a chance to explore it fully with a ticket.

Really beautifully preserved, and quite spectacular. Interesting to see neighbourhood cats have made their home among the ruins. Not for the faint hearted if you're afraid of heights!

After living and coming to Catania for 25 years, this was the first time I saw it open and was able to explore the thing. Very stunning and interesting inside, especially the darker hallway and the side room. Absolutely worth seeing if you're in Catania.

The ruins you can see from the surface are 10% of the whole structure. The visit is worth for the price (4€), and the panels help you understand how the amphitheater was in the past, but you'll enjoy it more with some previous information.

Very well presented ruins, very easy to get to and see and photograph for free from street level. You can buy a ticket to walk through the ruins, but this part is not handicapped friendly.

Well I liked Catania as a city. The amphitheatre can be viewed from the road. It's a part of but gives a great impression of what the whole would look like.

It doesn't look like much from above, but when you go in (which costs only about €4) you get to walk through some of the preserved superstructure of this Roman amphitheatre, which is now underground. It's worth a visit if you have 30 mins to spare.
