What a fantastic little museum. We had passed by it a few times walking down to the beach and made a mental note of it. We had some free time one day and decided to go. Tickets are sold down the stairs but not far. It's guided tour only and the tours are top of the hour. Tickets were very reasonable I think $16 per person? Tour took about 45 min and the guide was very knowledgeable. It was just my wife and I and one other couple. We had no idea of the extensive history of Positano. One of the most fascinating museums we went to in Italy.

Great tour that explains so much about Positano that's often missed. Loved the information shared and the tour guide who guided us through the ruins. Highly recommended!

We had a few days in Positano and our airbnb host recommended this to us. It was amazing. The tour was so intimate (10 people at a time), to see the detail in what has been excavated here is just awesome, our guide was so helpful and knowledgeable and it was such a personalised experience. I would recommend this to anyone heading to the Amalfi Coast, just wonderful! Looking forward to returning in 6 years time to see what’s been found in the next stage of excavation.

This museum is definitely worth seeing if you like history. It’s part Roman history museum and part crypt and it’s an interesting activity to do in Positano. The Roman wall paintings are very well preserved and the colors are vibrant even after all of this time.

I would call this a piece of hidden brilliance! A gem neglected by the hordes of tourists in the streets. A museum only accessible by guided tour, taking 45-90 mins for €15 per person, my group was about 9 people. The space is temp controlled @ 15 degrees (which was a blessing as it was 32 outside!!) and there are three ages of history you can see (Roman, Middle Age and 16th/17th C). Some amazing objects on display and the preservation outstanding; you should go to support this amazing work continuing. Shout out to Paula who did our tour, she was exceptional - great knowledge, very patient, clear and happy to take questions from all throughout making for a top rated experience. Myself and my partner felt so sorry we had to run to catch our boat at the very end as we could have learned more. 100% 10/10!!

Simply amazing tour. Our guide was an actual archeologist and it was fascinating to hear her tell us all about the history of this 2000+ year old villa found under the Duomo. Highly recommend.
