The oldest bridge in Germany. Built by Romans. It is incredible to see that its foundations are still standing today after 1800 years and even support vehicular traffic. Wow!

Beautiful old Roman brigde, mostly full of cars, but in rare occasions when it's sunny, it looks wonderful. The surrounding area is conceputally connected with the old walls and remains of rhe Roman fortifications. Good for a nice walk by the Moselle river.

Worth seeing when in Trier. The oldest bridge in Germany since it still stands on its 200 AD Roman foundations. A plaque on the bridge commemorates the US liberation of Trier. There is a matching model of this bridge as it looked and was built in Roman times in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in town. Note: nearby you can see medieval cranes used to offload boats from the Mosel river.

I was willing to go out of my way to take a look at what the Roman Bridge had to offer, which unfortunately wasn't much. For UNESCO World Heritage Site hunters and history aficionados, you would nevertheless go out of your way to visit the Roman Bridge. One may find the serene Moselle River a change of scenery from the famous areas crawling with tourists. Otherwise it may not be worth your time to travel off the beaten path for this bridge.

The bridge has a very beautiful architecture. For the time we live in today, it is within the parameters, considering that it was built at a time when there were no cars on the road.

One of the places that are in the list of UNESCO and can be visited for free. You can walk on the bridge itself or walk under it in the nearest park
