Roman Circus of Mérida

Interesting but not that much to see, mostly left to imagination and pictures as no English narratives nor the video presentation. 5 stars to Juan Carlos on reception though, what a great guy, friendly, informative, even told us more about the area and the festivals that take place, his bit of English and our bit of Spanish we got loads of info from him

Hard to describe how immense this place is. Pictures don't do it justice. Definitely worth the stop.

Entry to 6 of the main sites in merida including this one, just e17. Great value. It's really good to be able to walk in the circus, easy to imagine the chariots racing around here. I felt the need to go and watch benhur!

Great place, but why does Spain expect that visitors speak but 1 language: Spanish. Do something about it, in a multi cultural Europe, you would expect more openness. It is a blamage to the tourist organisation all over Spain, travelling through this beautiful country by bike.

This roman circo (field) in Merida is incredibly big. Can you image that the horseriders used this? Its a big distance. Its also a big jewel from the beautiful city of Merida. Its over 2000 years old, maybe 2500 years. Also with the combined ticket you can enter this awesome place. Don't miss it.

Fascinating! Interesting information centre. Worth buying a multi access tick for all major attractions. Over 65s from EU countries get significant reduction €8 vs €17 (May 2025)
