Great for history buffs. Interesting information on Passau's history and origins. Nice artifacts and costumes on display. The short documentary film needs better commentary, as it was sometimes confusing in English. But overall worth a visit. Not suitable for disabled, lots of steps.

Great museum, well worth a visit. Almost all info is also in english, even the 13-min video can be selected with english audio. Note that the parking outside is free but only 1 h.

Very logical museum about Romanian period of Passau. Modern technologies to describe what was in the past, some model reconstruction, some archaeological artefacts.

An interesting museum showing the Roman frontier on the Danube. Was surprised to see information in English

This is a fabulous museum that does so much with the space it has. The displays are interactive with links for video and audio via your phone but BRING HEADSETS! Most displays have English but the items are tagged only in German. A translation app will be very useful. There are kid friendly displays such as games and touch displays that will engage younger audiences. For a small museum this is a high quality presentation!

The museum is a hidden gem that offers an intimate glimpse into the past with its small Roman fort overlooking the Danube. Visitors are welcomed with a concise, 13-minute film in English that provides a great introduction to the exhibits. The displays themselves are well-curated, featuring clear English descriptions that make the artifacts engaging and accessible for international guests. The museum’s design is modern and minimalist, with clean lines and muted colors that enhance the presentation of the ancient artifacts. This thoughtful design creates a serene and inviting atmosphere, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the historical treasures without distraction. The cleanliness of the museum is remarkable, reflecting the staff’s dedication to maintaining a high standard throughout. Admission fees are very reasonable, at just €4 for adults and €2 for students, making this cultural experience accessible to a wide range of visitors. Overall, the museum is a wonderful place to explore and appreciate the rich history overlooking the Danube.

Very interesting and modern museum about a Roman fort from the 3rd century. It has explanations in English as well

Google
Very nicely done, small museum, documenting small Roman fort overlooking the Danube. Short 13 min film helps for English-speaking visitors, and exhibits have English descriptions. Spotlessly clean, beautiful Minimalist interior, with lovely artifacts. Restroom is locked, attendant at desk has key. Restroom also scrupulously clean. We visited at 10am on a weekday and had the place to ourselves. No gift shop.
