The museum is very interesting and has an impressive aureii collection. Update: I've heard the Roman golden coins from this museum were stolen. Those were priceless aureii found in the hoard hidden in the ruins of the Lousonna. I hope those coins will be retrieved and that the thieves be caught and will experience the harsh justice. Good luck!

The experience was a bit short. I feel that some the museum was closed off for renovations when I went (4th March 2025). It was empty, no wait of any kind. Perks and cons of travelling in the off season I suppose. The exhibits were standard Roman artifacts and I don't declare this a disappointing experience as the cost was covered in the pass I bought from a different museum earlier. The Roman town ruins nearby are for free.

Very interesting museum, with an easily understandable introduction to Lausanne's early iteration. The temporary exhibitions are always original and worth the visit. They also have conferences and themed guided tours. Check if any digs are currently being worked on: Lousonnae used to be a large town many secrets are still to be discovered

🏛️The experience of visiting the Roman museum of Lausanne in Vidy was very interesting because it was built inside a Roman domus. In fact, you can see fragments of the Domus 🏛️, with small "affresco" where the colors have been maintained over time. 🪜Upstairs there is the gallery with all the finds of daily life found and exhibited. 📜🗞️ There are posters affixed to the walls that tell the story of the time. 💲The cost of the ticket has a low average price and there are discounts for students $. 🆓 It is also possible once a month to visit the museum for free. 🙋🙋‍♀️The museum offers a guide upon request. 🤩I recommend it to anyone here who is passionate about Roman history.

So lovely to know Roman history of Lausanne. The museum has a beautiful exposition and artefacts are nicely preserved and have a great storyline and a lovely future museum.

Small museum the placards are in French. So interesting that the museum is built on Roman site.

Definitely for the history buff more than the casual visitor. But, as a history buff, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a small museum but covers an interesting period of world history that I didn't know much about: Gallo-Roman. A well-executed interactive exhibit projected on the wall was a great start to the exhibit. Many interesting artifacts. For English speakers they provide a booklet that translates the interpretive materials for each section. However, my only complaint, is that the plaques for individual artifacts were only in French. The camera feature of Google Translate was an adequate solution for me except for a few objects too far back in the case for my camera to see. Tip: there is a single ticket for this and 2 other museums good for 3 days..worth it!
