A surprising survival is this almost complete 2nd Century Roman Temple, rediscovered in 1882. For centuries it formed part of the mediaeval fortified house of the Montcada family, and was brought to light only when the house was partly demolished in the 19th century. Part of the mediaeval walls of the fortified house survive on the northern side, and the portico of the temple itself is a reconstruction. It is easily viewed from the adjacent street, but for a closer look the gates are opened 10-13h daily (free entry).
