Excellent Stay with Minor Room for ImprovementGreat location with friendly, helpful staff who went above and beyond. Room was clean and comfortable with modern amenities. Hotel facilities were well-maintained and breakfast offered good variety. Only minor issue was occasional noise from hallway traffic. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Solid value for money.

Neat hotel with friendly staff and a beautiful, well-maintained garden; overall a bit dated. The immediate surroundings show a lot of vacant properties and don’t feel particularly safe in the evening. The room was large and clean. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice, but don’t arrive too early as not everything is set out yet. The bathroom is the main drawback: the water temperature changes roughly every 30 seconds, the showerhead has little pressure, the bathtub is very slippery, and the bathroom gets very wet after showering. The restaurant serves decent food, but the prices are disproportionately high for what you get. Conclusion: perfectly fine for a few days, provided you factor in the bathroom issues and the less pleasant surroundings.

Great hotel to stay from airport in Catania either before or after your flight. Free parking, breakfast included and rooms are air conditioned and clean. We took a standard room which was small, comfortable bed, safe, clean and lovely shower with good water pressure. The breakfast was on the roof top with a wide selection of foods and beverages. Dinner was in a very quaint and central to the property restaurant. The food was delicious and a great wine selection. The hotel is dated in parts and looks a bit tired but the service is exceptional.

The Romano Palace although quite far from the town, is set in very nice and well kept grounds. The staff on the front desk and in the bar were friendly, attentive and very helpful. The Deluxe Room I stayed in was quiet, spacious, clean and modern with a balcony overlooking the pool. The key highlights for me was the clean and relaxing pool area, and the bar staff who were friendly and accommodating. The cocktails prepared by mixologist bartender Raffaele Consoli were uniquely creative and tasted amazing; true craftmanship. The complimentary snacks at the bar was a nice touch too.

The hotel is old, neglected, and has many defects. The rooms were dirty and smelly. There was mold by the sink. The fridge in the room, which should have been one of the cleanest places, was completely dirty! We didn't receive bathrobes, which were guaranteed in the description. We only learned at reception that we couldn't use the sun loungers on the beach, even though the hotel itself had informed us they would be available. We had breakfast between 8:30 and 9:00, which is early, yet half the stations weren't replenished, making the selection limited. The food wasn't bad, but it lacked variety for a 5-star hotel. The sun loungers by the pool were different from the photos and very uncomfortable. The fitness room was closed, and the entrance was blocked with dirty, old mattresses. After contacting the hotel and attempting to complain about my stay, I was threatened by this hostel with legal action. This hotel should be avoided.

Wonderful hotel just across from the beach. Service and facilities are top notch and the food was excellent. Easy to catch a taxi for sightseeing or shopping and plenty of parking in and around the hotel. Quick and easy to get to and from the Catania airport (just a few minutes). The rooms are very nice.

The hotel was okay, a little dated but the room was large, clean and comfortable. However not being able to control the temperature of our room and having to call reception was irritating.||The restaurant was good, but service was slow. |Staff were all lovely, and very helpful.

This is a three-star hotel with five-star pretenses. To sensitive sleepers, I can only recommend that they stay away. The air conditioning in the room is centrally controlled, which means you can either have it too cold or too hot (if you turn your electricity off). To me, this was a deal breaker and I left the hotel even while expecting to pay in full. If you're OK with the AC situation, my tips would be: - Get the cheapest room. A 'deluxe room' gets you an extra 3m2, a balcony view of a hedge rather than a parking lot and an elevator trip to the second floor (rather than the first). You do pay 40% more to go 'deluxe'. - Do not book through the website. Third parties often have better deals. What I will say to the hotel's advantage is that they did not charge me despite the late cancelation.

This hotel is a beautiful place. The room was really clean. The drinks at the bar are a little expensive. The receptionist was very courteous. The only problem I really had was the glass in the bathroom had been previously used.

The hotel itself is fine, but the service is terrible. I have been traveling the world my entire life, and am perfectly aware that service in Europe and other parts of the is not the same as it is in the US, but this was ridiculous and completely unacceptable. Just a few examples: 1). For three days we couldn't get the ac to work. When we finally called reception about it they told us it wasn't turned on from their main controls and that we had probably told them to turn it off. I told them it was summer it Italy, why wouldn't we want ac? They turned it on, only for for it to stop working the next day. We found that it was set to not go below 28 Celsius which is 84 Fahrenheit. It was very hot. 2). There was poolside service, only if you wanted anything you had to get up to order anything and the waiters we the nastiest men I have ever come across in any hotel. I have never been spoken to like that. Then we had to wait forever just for drinks and sandwiches. 3). Every time we wanted to go anywhere like it dinner or a neighboring town and we asked someone at reception for a suggestion, we told they had no suggestions. 4). There we lots of Mosquitos so I called for a plug in thing that I knew they had, only I had to call three times before someone came. 5). The hotel room included breakfast. It was a large spread, the problem was that the food was terrible. Each morning I ate fruit with a specially ordered latte because the supplied coffee ANSI pastries were in edible. 6). Keys to our room worked only half the time 7). Wifi in room didn't work. When we told reception they just thought we weren't putting the correct passwords in. Not the case because we could get wifi in other areas of hotel, just not rooms. They could care less. These were just a few of the many thing service oriented things that made our stay uncomfortable. I actually spoke to the manager part way through our stay to tell him how disappointed we were with the service and all he did was smile and say "oh" as if I was just an annoying American. Once I ran into him and told him how we didn't have any ac and his response was "but it's working now, right." And then ran away.

Oldish North African themed hotel beyond it's prime. Heavily perfumed to cover mold? and mildew? smells. The fragrance almost made me gag. Not bad overall, just sort of run down. Cracked windows, scuffed walls, old carpet. Find something better for the price. Drinks very pricey. Mosquitos in the room. Breakfast is very sparse, but okay. View of dirty pond and trash/plaground in back. Staff is genial and helpful. Has a potential currently not being lived up to. I wanted to like it, but dreaded returning after a day out.
