Staying at this hotel in Zermatt was an unforgettable experience! The location is perfect—just 500 meters from the train station, making it incredibly convenient. The highlight of my stay was the warm hospitality from the owners, Thor and Michele. They personally served the buffet breakfast every morning, which was both delicious and thoughtfully prepared. On my first day, I unfortunately missed breakfast, but as I was heading out around 10:45 am, they surprised me by reserving some food for me to enjoy before leaving. It was such a thoughtful and touching gesture that truly made me feel cared for.The room itself was immaculate and had everything I needed. The balcony offered a stunning mountain view, which was a perfect way to start and end each day. Thor and Michele went above and beyond to make me feel like a VIP throughout my stay. They remembered my name, attended to every need, and even took the time to explain the local attractions and recommend food options based on my preferences.I feel incredibly lucky to have secured two nights at this gem of a hotel, especially since it’s almost always fully booked. This was one of the most personal and heartwarming stays I’ve ever had. If you’re visiting Zermatt, staying here is an absolute must. Thank you, Thor and Michele, for making my trip so memorable!

My partner and I recently stayed at Hotel Romantica for our first visit to Zermatt and what a good decision that was! I don’t think our trip would have been as special without the amazing hospitality from the hosts, Thor and Michelle. They really helped us make the most of our time in Zermatt with great recommendations and tips. The hotel itself is really beautiful, with a perfect location in the centre of Zermatt. The rooms were lovely and clean. The views were amazing and the hotel also had that cozy alpine vibe were looking for. The breakfast was very good, with great food and a nice setup. Thor and Michelle were incredibly helpful in planning our days, giving us lots of great advice that made everything run smoothly. Zermatt has to be one of our favourite destinations we have travelled to and we can’t recommend Hotel Romantica enough. It was an unforgettable experience overall and we can’t wait to return!

What a beautiful and charming hotel a block away from the main street in town. Very peaceful and quiet in our room which was a suite w a balcony and views of the surrounding mountains. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings were lovely. Michelle and Thor were a delight - they helped us w our transport into town, made us a reservation at a local restaurant and helped guide our hiking adventure. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty in a pretty breakfast room. We loved Hotel Romantica and highly recommend a stay there.

Our stay at Romantica was great, mainly because of the host, Thor, and also the place was very cozy, easy to access, and just perfect! Thor was an awesome host! He and his wife really know how to take care of their customers. Thor was very knowledgeable at the places to visit and shared with us trails that were not available on Google Maps nor All Trails and that saved us a lot of time! Thor offered to pick us up from the train station and even though we made our own way, Thor was so generous to drive us back to the train station on our departure morning. The view from the rooms was spectacular!!! The location was perfect, just feet away from the Main Street and views of the Matterhorn. Breakfast was included in the stay and was so fresh and so good! The fresh toast daily, the fresh coffee, the juices, the fruit, the eggs! Couldn’t ask for more! Thanks Thor, we hope to visit you again next time we return to Switzerland!! -Sherif and Helena

We stayed 4 nights at the beautiful Romantica Hotel hosted by the amazing hosts Thor and Michele. This quaint hotel is charming.||Our room was roomy and looked new. Breakfast was great and the entire hotel felt welcoming. The gardens are beautiful. Our room was cleaned each day before we even finished breakfast,||We received personal assistance for things to do and where to eat. We really enjoyed a suggested hike to Blatten and seeing the blacknose sheep on the way. Thor is so knowledgeable and shared a lot of local insights. The personal touch is exceptional.|This is our favorite hotel in Switzerland. Thank you Thor and Michele for a friendly and beautiful stay!

My sister and I spend two nights at hotel Romantica. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt to charmed and comfortable. Thor and Michele were the kindest hosts. They remembered our names, helped us find fun adventures, and went above and beyond. We stayed in the cottage and it was so cozy and cute. The breakfast was delicious. A variety of breads, croissants, fruit, meats and cheeses. The exterior of the hotel was beautiful. The garden especially! We were close to the Main Street and a seven minute walk to the train station. I can’t wait to stay here again.

View from Hotel is good, do note that you cannot see Matterhorn from Hotel, this is not a big problem. The viewpoint is about 5-10 minutes from the hotel. You can see sunrise Matterhorn from a very good spot nearby the hotel.Room is Big, a lot spaces to put items.Front Desk is super helpful and excellent.Location is close to train station about 5-10 minutes walk, however need to carry luggages about 20 staircases up.Breakfast is super nice. Room is super clean.Overall 5/5 for me.

We were so fortunate to have chosen Hotel Romantica for our stay in Zermatt. It is a beautiful calm quiet oasis in the ideal location to explore Zermatt and the stunning surrounds. Michelle's lovely flower garden at the front is the ideal place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Thor and Michelle were the most amazing hosts, their hospitality and kindness made us feel like we were visiting old friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from giving great advice on which sights to see and how to get to them, to assisting my wife in every way possible (who was in a wheelchair after an injury earlier in our trip). The rooms are very comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was perfect. We spend a month travelling to 4 countries and stayed in many hotels, Romantica is the one we will always remember with the fondest memories. If you are going to Zermatt, its easy, just stay at Romantica, you will love it
