Cutest little café to visit in the area. We enjoyed the almond latte and plum pie which was tart and not too sweet! Washroom was available for customers and we loved the cute interior of hotel inside.

Charming combination of restaurant, hotel, and cafe in Novy Svet near the walls of Prague. 8 minute walk from Loreto. Bot.many tourists come around this vicinity so it is pleasant to walk around this charming neighborhood abd come across this place. Have a sip of coffee and relax, eat some traditional Czech meal or even stay a night or two. Highly recommended 😎 👍

Amazing one of a kind experience! This place is for those who like small, local boutique hotels. The hotel has only six rooms in a renovated historic building, they include a lovely breakfast with homemade yogurts, eggs to order, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries and more. It is super clean and decorated with local country antiques by someone with a great eye-- each room is totally unique. It is in the castle district in a quiet corner of Prague 1, and staying here totally made the trip for us. Old town is insanely busy even early in the season, so much so that I just wanted to get out of there. The castle district is a bit hilly, but from the hotel you can easily walk to many of the most important sites: lesser town, the castle, Petrin hill, Strahov library, St. Nicholas Church. With three days, we spend only one in old town, and two in lesser town/the castle district so this location made sense for us. The tram stop is five minutes uphill but for a short trip ubers made much more sense to us-- we mostly walked and the couple of times we were going a distance we took very inexpensive ubers (come in 2 minutes, $6-7 gets you anywhere in Prague 1). The area isn't great for anyone with mobility issues, though as long as you can walk a bit it's fine. We basically walked all day, then went back to the hotel for a late lunch and got smoothies and a delicious meat and cheese platter or ham and cheese pie and sat on their lovely sunken terrace. Walking to dinner from there was a highlight of the trip, quiet historic streets you practically have to yourself with one stunning building after another-- plenty of restaurants within a 1-15 minute walk. Book directly on their website and check out their packages. We got the anniversary package that you needed to pay in cash with euros while you were there but you got$50 off a night, flowers, a big bowl of fruit, a large meat and cheese platter, a split of sparkling wine, a bottle of local wine, and a free ride to or from the airport. Magda who works there is the best! She would often make us something special for breakfast and lunch-- basically take any of her recommendations! Get room 6 if you can with a living room, fireplace, indoor terrace, private table on the outdoor terrace.

We enjoyed three nights at this incredible restored historic building. It was such a relief at the end of a busy day to return to a quiet spot to rest. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast, which included some local home baked delicacies, and the tranquil private garden.

This very beautiful gem is the most lovely hotel you can find in Prague, situated in the Novysvet neighbourhood where peace and quietness still rule. It seems the countryside but you are only at a little distance from Prague's historical centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Best scrambled eggs ever; thank you Magda.

If you are planning a quiet, romantic trip to Prague, then you must stay here! The rooms are cozy, well decorated, and the included breakfast is very substantial. It is about a ten minute walk from the Castle complex. The host, Mr. Paul is a warm host and the entire staff are friendly and efficient. Paying in cash seems to invite a great discount! I will be back for sure! Great job Hotel U Raka!

I used to walk by Romantik Hotel U Raka during my visits to Prague, and the year my father passed I decided to spend a little more for accommodations than I normally would pay and finally stay at what was once described to me as "typical architecture" in the Czech countryside (yes, staying at this hotel had become part of my bucket list). I absolutely love this hotel. I booked directly on the hotel website and there is a discount if you pay in cash. The surrounding neighborhood is serene and safe. Strolling at night along the cobblestone street with gas lamps lighting the way, you can wander among the historical buildings to Prague Castle and the breathtaking view overlooking the city. Take trams 22 or 23 from other parts of the city to the stops accessing U Raka (the shortest distance from the nearest tramstop does require walking a long stairway). The hotel feels secure and homey. A door connecting the courtyard to the street is unlocked by keys guests are given, and a security person is on staff overnight. My room had two floors with a bathroom, desk and chair on the 1st floor, and the bed and TV were on the second floor. I was able to write when at the spacious desk area, and I slept soundly upstairs - a few mornings even missing the included breakfast! I could have happily made this a second home! The history of the buildings, beautiful folk art, lovely garden, unique guest rooms, and friendly staff contributed to my wonderful stay. If you want to be in the middle of tourists and "the action," then stay elsewhere. If you are looking for a quiet, unique oasis nestled in a serene part of the city, tucked behind the Castle, Romantik Hotel U Raka is a hotel you should consider.

Mr. Paul was a very nice host! He accepted our stay with a little child and even gave us a bigger room. The hotel itself is very lovely decorated, the breakfast was very tasty and also the staff was very kind (even tough we had some language difficulties :) ). So thanks again Mr. Paul! For us it was the perfect holiday in Prague.

Yelp
We recently stayed for the second time, after a 20+ year absence. Place was as good, actually better, than before. Rooms are great, cozy, attractive, comfortable. Staff is attentive, pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts are wonderful. Unfortunately it was still too cold to enjoy relaxing in the courtyard. In short, a relaxing hunting lodge in the middle of Prague. Other notes - the attached restaurant/small cafe is a charming and cozy place to grab a bite in the afternoon or early evening. To avoid having to go uphill to get here take the #22 tram to the Brusnice stop, go down the stairs across the street and it will be at the bottom

Yelp
Don't confuse this tiny hotel/café with the Old Town restaurant by the same name - they are two entirely different places. This one is at the end of the ancient winding Novy Svet lane near the Prague castle, and is enchanting. (Be warned, though - the only way out is UP!) You ring a bell to enter - this is to discourage the looky-loos who just want to explore, ask questions and use the toilets. The one- or two-person staff just doesn't have time. The café is delightful - delicious food cooked by the manager/chef, lovely ambience, including a fire in cold weather, and an outdoor area in the summer. Recently restored, the place is full of old bric a brac, including a stone plaque of a lobster, which makes sense when you know the name means "At the Crayfish." I had a delicious quiche and apple studel - yum! We only visited the café, and peeked at a room, which was lovely. Definitely romantic!
