Romantik Hotel Bären Dürrenroth

I recently stayed at the Bären Dürrenroth Hotel and had a lovely experience. The room was small but charming, and the hotel has a unique atmosphere that really adds to the stay. The spa, though compact, was fully sufficient for relaxation, although we expected a bit more from the outdoor jacuzzi. The highlight of our visit was definitely the food in the restaurant—absolutely exquisite! For this reason alone, a stay at the Bären Hotel is a perfect choice. Must do: Sunrise at Lueg ! I highly recommend it! :)

Beautiful spa, climatic rooms and flavorful food! And the staff TOP CLASS!!. Spa just phenomenal! But there’s also something for kids, the room has got my children crazy! They played bilard, and piano… but there’s so much more than that !!! Rooms are so clean, and they’re just given the vibe of a Swiss village and that view… oh goshhhh I’m in love with it!! Breakfast and dinner were amazing! The food is local and delicious, the menu looks like it doesn’t have and end! If you ask the chef if they can cook something, they’ll be pleased to do so! Staff is amazing so friendly, helpful, just amazing people!! This hotel should at least have 4,5 stars!!! My overall opinion 10/10. We’re definitely going to come back!!!

I was very worried about the restaurant reviews. Nevertheless I have to say it was good enough to keep a very good experience over all, and I'm very demanding at the food level. Breakfast superb with delidious local products.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is historic but very well kept up. We had a room on the first floor facing the garden. It was quiet and comfortable, We had dinner at the restaurant and it was one of the better meals of our trip. Breakfast was good.

I was wondering why the hotel Baeren, located in such a remote area, had such an excellent reputation. After staying there I know why! Its because of the so friendly, helpful and professional team which runs the hotel. Special mention goes to Elina and Julis Eder who went out of their ways to help us feel most welcome and arranged for all special requests to be met. The hotel has rooms facing the road (hardly any traffic) and rooms facing the lovely garden and pond at the back of the house. The property is very quaint throughout and the number of fresh flowers all around the compound is staggering. Our room was comfortable and had a large built-in bathroom with shower, lavabo, and toilet. Sadly, there is only liquid soap in the room. No conditioner, no Q-tip, no body lotion. Bring yourself. |Only other point to improve would be to arrange some shelves both in the room and the bathroom to put down things. Our Dinner at the Restaurant was just fine, but not special. We noticed that most guest chose half pension. For us, preferring a la carte meals, the menu offered very little choice, particularly no down-to-earth comfort food. For the following two nights we went out for dinner to Sumiswald. At breakfast there is minimal fruits - only slices of melon and sometimes melon. The muesli is terrible, void of cream and fresh fruits and berries. There is not much to see around Duerrenroth, so a one-night or two-night's stay is most appropriate. This is a charming, well run hotel well worth visiting. Our compliments to the team at the reception.

This is why people fall in love with Switzerland.. such attention to detail and you really taste the region in everything they do from the service to the food in the restaurant. They were so accommodating to every wish and it was such a delightful stay. The restaurant is also absolutely amazing.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Bären in Dürrenroth while on a cycling tour! Our room was well kept, clean and quiet. The spa is wonderful. We were also able to take in a very informative tour of the art of brewery making, led by the brewmaster himself! Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the service excellent!! We highly recommend this gem in the Emmental!! Thank you to the entire team at the Bären!

The hotel was absolutely lovely, the staff were super helpful and the spa wellness area very intimate and special. The restaurant is really good too. The charm of the hotel is very special. I love this place and will definitely come back....
