Romantik Hotel Castello Seeschloss

We were in a 2nd floor room with small balcony. 2 patio chairs and great views. We ate at the hotel's restaurant on the lake which was fine dining. If you have half board, you only have one choice of a main meal, which is unusual. It was not a problem for us but could be for others.

We had the most wonderful experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to Daniel Heiserer, who helped us organize our wedding in the most amazing way. From the planning to the execution, everything was handled with care, professionalism, and a genuine desire to make our day perfect. The castle itself is beautiful, elegant, comfortable, and very well maintained. The atmosphere and service made the whole experience even more special. One of the highlights was the restaurant garden with its stunning lake view, a peaceful, romantic setting that added so much to our experience. And the food? Absolutely excellent. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or team to help us celebrate such a special moment. Highly recommended!

I had a truly wonderful stay at Romantik Hotel Castello. The staff was exceptional always so kind, helpful, and attentive, which made the experience even more special. My room had an incredible view that made every moment feel unforgettable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and welcoming stay.

The hotel itself is very nice. The staff all go the extra mile for you if and when needed. They are very friendly and approachable. Only a couple of minor niggles let the place down for me. The evening meal a la carte menu only shows 1 option for a main course. They will offer you an alternative if you ask them but they really should offer at least 1 alternative on the menu eliminating the need to ask. At least 1 meat, 1 fish and 1 vegetarian option. |Also it's a great shame the actual bar at the hotel is never open but I understood the reasons why this is. |On the plus side the breakfast choices were superb. Only things missing from a purely British point of view was no grilled or cooked tomatoes or sausages but with all the other choices I didn't miss it. |1 of the real stars of the show was the waiter at the restaurant across the road at the el lago restaurant that belongs to the hotel. If I couldn't see anything on the evening meal menu I liked he would ensure an alternative was made available for me, or if I wanted to add items like a bowl of fries or ice cream to a dessert he was the man who can. |Daniel at reception is another star who both collected us from Locarno Train Station and took us back when our holiday was over. |You couldn't pick a better location in Ascona than here. 4 minute walk to the bus stop for Locarno. A souvenir shop right outside the hotel. ( these places are hard to find by the way because there are so few of them) |An outdoor restaurant overlooking the lake for your evening meals. And right on the front next to all the other local bars and restaurants along with the harbour a 3 or 4 minute walk away for trips out on the lake. Also only a 4 minute walk away from the nearest supermarket if required.

We had a room on top of the tower. Worth the money. Lake view, pool great breakfast buffet and very friendly staff included. Location is perfect even when you come by public transport (5min walk).

My stay at the Hotel Castello Seeschloss was very pleasant. The location in the old town, on the lakefront, close to the ferry port is ideal. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Perfect for couples, direct to the Lake view, walking distance tothe Restaurants, around the Lake area. Very easy access by Car or by Bus.

The Romantik Schloss Hotel in Ascona is set in a truly beautiful location, and the housekeeping staff does a fine job of keeping the rooms clean. However several details left much to be desired. Most notably, the rooms are missing basic amenities such as a coffee machine or tea kettle. As a result, the only alternatives were the watered-down want-to-be-tea they call coffee at the breakfast buffet, a cup at the hotel restaurant, which also featured some of the worst service I’ve encountered in recent memory, or, thankfully, the many nearby cafés and restaurants in Ascona’s charming old town. The parking situation was also less than ideal. The spaces provided are very narrow, making it difficult for modern vehicles to park without considerable effort. While Wi-Fi is available, the password isn’t provided in the room and must be requested at reception, a minor inconvenience, but not in keeping with modern standards for guest comfort. Ultimately, the hotel's strongest asset is its scenic setting. However, the overall experience lacks the refinement and thoughtful details that would truly justify its four-star rating.
