Romantik Hotel Castello Seeschloss

We had the most wonderful experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to Daniel Heiserer, who helped us organize our wedding in the most amazing way. From the planning to the execution, everything was handled with care, professionalism, and a genuine desire to make our day perfect. The castle itself is beautiful, elegant, comfortable, and very well maintained. The atmosphere and service made the whole experience even more special. One of the highlights was the restaurant garden with its stunning lake view, a peaceful, romantic setting that added so much to our experience. And the food? Absolutely excellent. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or team to help us celebrate such a special moment. Highly recommended!

The hotel itself is very nice. The staff all go the extra mile for you if and when needed. They are very friendly and approachable. Only a couple of minor niggles let the place down for me. The evening meal a la carte menu only shows 1 option for a main course. They will offer you an alternative if you ask them but they really should offer at least 1 alternative on the menu eliminating the need to ask. At least 1 meat, 1 fish and 1 vegetarian option. |Also it's a great shame the actual bar at the hotel is never open but I understood the reasons why this is. |On the plus side the breakfast choices were superb. Only things missing from a purely British point of view was no grilled or cooked tomatoes or sausages but with all the other choices I didn't miss it. |1 of the real stars of the show was the waiter at the restaurant across the road at the el lago restaurant that belongs to the hotel. If I couldn't see anything on the evening meal menu I liked he would ensure an alternative was made available for me, or if I wanted to add items like a bowl of fries or ice cream to a dessert he was the man who can. |Daniel at reception is another star who both collected us from Locarno Train Station and took us back when our holiday was over. |You couldn't pick a better location in Ascona than here. 4 minute walk to the bus stop for Locarno. A souvenir shop right outside the hotel. ( these places are hard to find by the way because there are so few of them) |An outdoor restaurant overlooking the lake for your evening meals. And right on the front next to all the other local bars and restaurants along with the harbour a 3 or 4 minute walk away for trips out on the lake. Also only a 4 minute walk away from the nearest supermarket if required.

We had a room on top of the tower. Worth the money. Lake view, pool great breakfast buffet and very friendly staff included. Location is perfect even when you come by public transport (5min walk).

We really enjoyed the overall ambiance and dining experience. The bed were comfortable and the garden very pretty. The only point of attention is breakfast. The first morning the cucumbers and tomatoes were covered in some suspicious substance. It was pretty disgusting and did not look hygienic. The staff said that it was a mistake of a new cook. Also, I asked to confirm whether the syrup contained no alcohol, which the staff did confirm. When my Muslim friend started drinking it she was sure there was alcohol. So I went and checked the bottle myself - it did contain alcohol. Simply unacceptable and careless.

Beautiful location. Very nice staff: friendly, caring. The room was clean and due to wind weather they even brought an extra heater. Breakfast without excess, but everything is very fresh and delicious. I was very pleased with the hotel.

We stayed two nights (early September 2024) at this hotel while traveling around Switzerland. This was our second time and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was nicely appointed and comfortable. Like most hotels in Switzerland the air-conditioning is a touch anemic but you can open windows at this time of year. The beds were comfortable but the duvet covers tend to be overly warm. We removed the duvet insets and just covered with the sheets which was just right. Our stay included breakfast which was very nice and included pretty much anything you could want including baked goods, cheeses, meats and bacon. You could order omelets or any other kind of eggs. The breakfast seating area was very nice and spacious. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant which was across the street from the hotel next to the lake. Good food and service. The hotel also has several outdoor seating areas where you can order drinks and snacks and enjoy the scenery and relax. There are many other restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you're in this area I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful building and surrounds. The staff in the reception and the dining room were absolutely excellent. No air conditioning but the shutters really helped to keep our room cool during the day. Very much enjoyed our holiday here.
