The first time I was at this hotel with some sort of awareness was in the late 1970s when my aunt got married, and then countless family festivities followed throughout the years. Birthdays, more weddings, funerals, reunions, random get-togethers, so, yes, I'm biased when rating this hotel. Double so, because even without any personal connection I prefer owner-managed places, be they a hotel, a restaurant, a bar, over business ideas of a group.
I found the staff extremely nice and competent, the rooms nostalgic and the breakfast sufficient (but I'm not a breakfast guy, so don't count on me for recommending or dissing places). Now the obvious issue is the current lack of a restaurant, but they're apparently working on it, and once
