Manoir Ogygia (Poperinge, Flanders) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This charming hotel, divided between a small historic and a more recent manor house, is set in walled grounds. The personalised decor of each of the rooms, fine food in the castle, and the irresistible heated pool (and lounge) in the garden all explain its success." - Tablet Hotels

Every aspect of our stay was terrific, from the friendliness of all of the staff to the surprises like the well-appointed outside areas by the pool and hot tub. Inside and outside self-serve bars/fridge on an honor system - who does that!!??!!

Excellent stay and location. The rooms are well-appointed and have air conditioning which was nice. We enjoyed the "refined" dinner option one evening and it was a fabulous. Terrific service by the owners and Victoria (their daughter's name if I remember correctly). The pool was nice and refreshing too. Our only regret was that we didn't plan on staying longer. Next time! Thank you for a great stay.

Arriving at the Ogygia was a revelation. We entered through the gates to a gravelled drive, parked and entered the hotel via a small hedge maze (do not worry, it’s only waist height!).||||We checked in and we taken to our lovely room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool and expansive gardens.||||We stayed 3 nights. Breakfast each morning was wonderful. We rented e-bikes one day and toured the countryside (highly recommend). My husband used the pool and hot tub enthusiastically. We enjoyed dinner one evening in the adjoining “chateau” with cocktails and amuse on the patio beforehand.||||Every person we encountered was friendly and helpful.

Me and my husband spent one night in this beautiful, perfect little hotel. We arrived on a Saturday and were greeted by the owner before getting our suite. We had pre-booked a two hour couples massage which was heavenly comfortable and exceeded our expectations in every way. The massage was performed in a cozy little house in the garden. For dinner we went with the five course set menu accompanied with wines and each course was an adventure by it self. Great service, excellent food and the restaurant is really cozy and charming.||The suite was very spacious with comfortable bed, sauna and a bathtub on the terrace. ||Overall, this was one of the best hotels I have ever visited. The family that runs this really looks into every detail and try to make sure every guest feels welcome. They have really done an excellent job and I hope I will visit them again!

This is the third time that we have stayed at Ogygia and each time it has been outstanding. The staff, the facility, the ambiance, I cannot fault the hotel at all.||This was the first time to eat in the restaurant for an evening meal, this was an absolute delight. The meal is a set menu, but was well chosen, well cooked and well presented. The meal was complimented by a variety of well chosen wines.

Tucked away in the charming town of Poperinge exists the most welcoming and sophisticated retreat. Owned and run by a lovely family who clearly take a lot of care in how they run the place. We had the five course set meal and was spectacular. The rooms were beautiful and the garden was stunning, particularly at night. With a luxurious pool, sauna and hot tub along with outside bar and seating, we could ask for nothing more of this fantastic place!

A group of us came here to spend a few days boys trip touring the WW1 sites and the Manoir really was a lucky find. The owners' charming hospitality made our stay both super chilled and also a lot of fun. From having a few drinks in the beautiful garden followed by a fabulous dinner in the grand old dining room one is made to feel like a member of the family (in a good sense). Normally I steer clear of multi course set menus as the food can be more style over substance... not at all the case here with delicious local fish and meats cooked by Kris and matching wines being poured with great charm and, indeed, generosity by his wife, Carman. ||Ah yes, the rooms........ large and super comfortable.||Looking forward to returning

We found this wonderful hotel as we wanted to explore the area and take in the history. We chose this hotel because of the pool and it was 40 degrees while we were there so we were v grateful. The whole was exceptional. There was nothing to fault. The food the rooms the staff the decor the outdoors the relaxed atmosphere. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.
