We loved everything about our two-night stay. The room was clean, beautiful, and comfortable. It had everything we needed The breakfast was perfect and the dinners were amazing. I highly recommend staying here 👍👍

This hotel is first-class. The other reviews address the sparkling wine and snack you receive while waiting for your room, the outstanding breakfasts and how close the hotel is to the ferry and town activities, but all staff bend over backwards to accommodate you. The cleaning staff are very unobtrusive, the front desk people can look after anything you want and the restaurant - WOW! Bjorn is excellent and the chef even stopped in at our table to see what we thought of his creations.||Well worth the cost!

We stayed at this hotel for the Memorial Day weekend in 2017. Our main destination was to visit Mainau (Flower Island). We chose a double room. It was clean, with a lanai and direct access to the hotel garden. The room was very quiet and we never saw the housekeeping staff come or go. Parking at the hotel cost 12 Euros for our 4-Day stay. The reception at the hotel was outstanding! We arrived around 2:00PM and were presented with a lovely array of refreshing drinks, cheeses, olives, & nuts as we waited for our room to be ready. The receptionist spoke great English and was very helpful in offering sites for us to visit in Meersburg and the location of the Ferry stop, The ferry stop was only a 5-minute walk from the hotel which was perfect for our trip over to Mainau Island. The hotel had to restaurants, an expensive one, and a more expensive one. The cuisine was quite delicious, but I'm sure that the only difference between the two was that the more pricey restaurant had tablecloths and the expensive one did not. They did offer a 3- and 4-course daily menu option that lessened the sting a bit on your purse. The hotel did not have its own pool, but the Lido was directly across the street and the hotel provided coupons for entry. The absolute best part of this stay was enjoying breakfast and dinner on the restaurant patio with the Bodensee and the Swiss Alps in the background. It is absolutely our favorite region of Baden-Wurttemberg to visit.

We recently had an excellent 2 night stay here, with dinner at the Michelin starred 'Casala' on the first night and their 'standard' restaurant on the other. It's hard to fault the hotel or restaurants- the service was impeccable, the food at both breakfast and dinner inventive and the room very comfortable. ||Our room overlooked the garden - we chose this rather than a seaview room as it had both a bath and freestanding shower. It did have the advantage of being quiet, as the seaview rooms face a road ( although not a very busy one).||All the staff were very helpful, but we were particularly impressed by the sommelier/ head waiter in Casala, and the head waiter in the other restaurant.||Only one criticism - it was very hot while we were there, but there is no a/c, and they has no fans left. ||We would definitely return.

My husband and I, sadly, only spent one night here in the Superior Double room with balcony; that one night was a highlight of our 7 week trip. When checking in we were warmly greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and a share platter before being personally shown to our room. The room was very spacious and very clean (there is a circular staircase in the entry that leads to a second spacious bedroom and bathroom). A fresh fruit basket was happily received and as requested our room overlooked the lake where we were able to watch a late night thunderstorm coming from the south over Lake Constance. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom has a large window that you could open up to see the vineyards nearby. The toiletries were of a high standard and the water pressure excellent.|We had dinner in the restaurant and were extremely pleased with the service, the meals and the wine (as advised by our waiter). My husband especially enjoyed the steak tartare which was prepared with skill at our table.|Breakfast was included and it rates up there with the best buffet breakfast I have ever had (indeed the best in our trip), so much variety and very fresh. |The staff every where were attentive and efficient, with a warm smile to greet you|I congratulate the management on the high standard evident here and for employing people who make your guests feel so welcomed.|Very much appreciated was being able to leave our hire car on site and our perishables in the hotel after checkout whilst we went to Mainau Island.||A must do is the 20 minute ferry trip to Mainau Island to see the Residence, botanical gardens, zoo, butterfly house. I was fortunate to visit when the vast amount of peonies (my favourite) were in bloom and this was a sight to behold as were the ginormous trees. We did not get a chance to visit the Castle Meersburg but did enjoy an Aperol Spritz in the courtyard in the afternoon after walking around the cobblestone streets.|We will one day come back to this lovely place and will most definitely stay at Romantik Hotel Residenz am See.

We are very fortunate to have been spoilt with amazing hotels over the past few years and therefore it is sometimes difficult to compare hotels in areas like Meersburg. Overall the hotel was great. The welcome upon arrival with a glass of sparkling wine was a great start and a great touch. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent and the hotel is well situated just a few mins walk from main areas of town. If you have the time, stop by the Terme right across the road. It has a nice infinity pool with a lovely deck over the Bodensee. ||The one thing I'd have to say negatively about the hotel, is that the rooms seem slightly outdated. They are very clean and offer splendid views of the lake, but they just don't feel totally 2017... Again this is coming from a spoilt traveller :-) Overall we had a very nice experience though.

We stayed at the Residenz am see for one week in 2018. Liked it so much we came back. It is a wonderful place. Dinner is exquisitely cooked and prepared, the restaurant staff is first rate, and breakfast is a delight too.|Rooms are most comfortable. We had a view across the lake, and of course a lovely Olympic size pool is just across the road. The hotel is just out of the main town and that’s good. Boats leave for most destinations on the Bodensee from the dock in Meersburg. Reception staff are always helpful and go above and beyond to assist. If you have a chance - stay here you will not regret it.

We had reserved a room for 10 days far in advance and upon arrival we’re confronted with a 15-20m2 room with a so called French bed; bathroom and balcony had more space than the actual room. After staying 1 night we requested a different room which however was not possible as all rooms were booked. The explanation from the front desk lady was that they had send us a link in which we could have got an impression from the room, but how on earth can you get an impression from a picture ????????????????????||Our biggest complaint is the fact that how it is possible to put a couple for 10 days into a 15-20m2 room with a cramped bed; a rip off taking into account that they charge Euro 230 per night for it. ||Be aware that you check VERY carefully the room you select in order to be confronted with a unpleasant situation like we experienced. ||Room 46 IS ABSOLUTELY NOT SUITED FOR A COUPLE (despite the fact that the hotel offers it)||We decided to leave the hotel after 1 day and booked lovely hotel close by; Hotel Garni Eden run by Familie Verna.||
