Appenzeller Hotel Säntis

I only ate here once, but I can honestly say it was lovely and amazing! The meal was delicious, the location was beautiful, and even the bathrooms were clean and well-kept. The waiters did such a great job and made the experience really enjoyable. We had a wonderful time, thank you very much, and gladly come again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is such a charming hotel! The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, always making me feel welcome. The beds are extremely comfortable—I had such a great night’s sleep. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is fantastic with a wide variety of options. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort and excellent hospitality!

A superb hotel right on the main square in Appenzell city. A beautiful building, with traditional architecture. Our room was huge, with sofa and easy chairs, tables, etc. All the windows opened, which in the good weather was very pleasant. We had dinner and breakfast in our rooms via room service, and food was good. The staff speaks English (if that's important to you) and is cordial, professional and attentive. The bathroom was enormous, very up to date and clean. This was one of the finest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in, anywhere. Expensive, but high quality. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station, mostly through a car-free pedestrian zone.

We stayed at Romantik Hotel Santis for a night in Aug. This hotel has a very excellent location straight in the old but very beautiful part of Appenzell. It is around 5 minutes walking from the station. If I have to use one word to describe it then that word is cosy! We are family of 5 and we had two rooms. So, we have enough space. The hotel has its own restaurant which has a great service and good food. Although, I will say that the restaurant is on the expensive side. The front desk was very nice and suggested us to do the Rondom Appezöll hike. We had no idea about this but it was worth spending every second. It is so beautiful and I will recommend every body visiting Appenzell. If I get another opportunity to visit Appenzell then I will make sure to book in the same hotel.

I only ate the food there. The staff was really pleasant and it felt like a high quality experience. I had the tortellini, which was refreshing to have a good pasta option in the town. I’d say that atmosphere for one person was not ideal since it was a more « quiet/personal » kind of vibe, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Would go back again! :)

We only stayed there one night for a family reunion. A lovely hotel; very conveniently situated directly on the square. Very friendly staff and a lovely room. Enjoyed an excellent dinner in the hotel with a very efficient, helpful waiter (Bavarian with a Austrian accent). Would certainly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay in Appenzell at the Hotel Santis. The location could not be any better and the staff was extremely friendly. We ate in town most nights but did dine in the dining room the last night and it turned out to be the best meal. The patio in front of the hotel was our favorite spot for an afternoon beer!

This typical Swiss chalet style hotel sits on Appenzell’s main square. Convenient to all areas of this little town you do not need a car.|We had a Junior Suite (which are the largest of the hotel) consisting of an ample open plan room with a sofa and 2 armchairs, a writing desk and a very generous bathroom and closet area. As so common in many Swiss hotels AC is not available. |The restaurant has AC and serves typical Swiss quality food from a menu with many choices. Breakfast is basic and served buffet style.|WIFI works well and staff are trained.
