Stayed for 6 days at this picturesque hotel..during the snow!!! Despite the reviews, this on its own is unique enough to be 5* given its rustic look. Its tucked away in a quaint village near the train station- with excellent transportation links!! . The views are breathtaking. Waking up every morning to beautiful scenery for me was incredible. Left all my stresses and woes in the UK. Staff are really friendly and helpful, we arrived really late as trains were delayed from Zurich and our universal plugs didnt work, we were provided 2 by the hotel staff. Room service was ok, it is very limited though… Breakfast - very nice variety, really loved the variety of cheeses and fresh local bread to appreciate local Swiss businesses. I sincerely enjoyed my stay here with the staff making my stay memorable. I didn’t dine here as we were out everyday..can’t comment.. It’s worth the price, the calm, peace and tranquility. for those who say its not5* - this isn’t the Waldorf now.. its a classic cosy village iddilic hotel. Bar staff- super friendly and props to the lovely musician who played some really good music on the piano!!- Tvs need to be upgraded to allow Netflix!! I will definitely return to this hotel in the very near future!!

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Schweizerhof for two weeks early in September. This was a special holiday celebrating my retirement earlier this year and a return to a wonderful part of Switzerland we last visited more than 30 years ago. The hotel was everything we had hoped for and more! Situated near the main station it made a perfect base for us to travel around the area. We took a south facing room with balcony looking across to the Eiger and the Mannlichen which was just perfect, as was the rest of our room. We were on a half-board booking which included a large buffet breakfast and superb evening dining served by friendly and very helpful staff. Our package also provided packed lunches and afternoon tea when we needed them. All the staff looked after us exceptionally well – nothing was too much for them and we had some lovely conversations and enjoyed their wine and beer recommendations and a superb cheese fondue. The Chambermaids kept our room neat and tidy, even carefully folding and presenting our nightwear for when we returned! The garden is also a great asset which we enjoyed on several afternoons, sitting under a parasol enjoying a coffee and just relaxing. We would definitely return here, perhaps in winter to enjoy the skiing season. Thank you for a wonderful two weeks.

The hotel is very clean and attractive. The staff seem to be solely dedicated to ensure you have a good time. The restaurant is really good. The waitress knew her wines and suggested the proper wine for the venison. I have one more night to go here, but I just had to write the review right now. The hotel has a history to it but unlike a lot of historical hotels it does not look old and shabby. I guarantee you will enjoy your stay here.

The service at this hotel is truly five-star. Every staff member, including the bartender, was warm, genuine, and impeccable. I didn’t have high expectations for hotels in Grindelwald, but the service here absolutely meets luxury hotel standards. They even arranged a complimentary car to pick me up from another nearby hotel where I was visiting a friend, and upgraded my room. The room was spotless, and the bathroom facilities were modern and very clean. I sincerely give my highest praise.

Be aware that the hotel's swimming pool is closed until December 8th 2025. The hotel's own website has buried this information, three levels deep. Apparently, they are happy to give you vouchers to use the main swimming pool in the nearby Sports Centre, if you want to. It's a nice enough hotel, but there are much nicer (and more affordable) hotels nearby, and would opt for Dorint Blüemlisalp any day over this place.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. I was made to feel so welcome by all of the wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My room, which looked straight out to the mountains, was spacious and spotlessly clean and the bed couldn’t have been more comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing and there was a huge variety of food. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is a very short walk from the train station. I felt very at home there and will definitely stay there again.
