We were staying on Kos, in Kerdamena for two weeks, and decided to have a night on Nisyros as something different to do.||We've been to Nisyros a few times to see the crater, but I really recommend just spending a day/night wandering around Mandraki. ||This hotel was a great little base, basic but very clean and with a really good breakfast. All the staff we met were great too and spent time chatting with us.||Location is perfect, straight off the ferry and it's just behind the port...literally 2 mins walk. Great for the next day leaving luggage until we got the return ferry in the afternoon. No dragging cases through Mandraki. ||Ferry across was super easy, pre purchase tickets from Sail Away for the fast ferry.||Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was in a pretty good location, next to the harbor and the bus station! The staff was pretty welcoming and helpful! Good value for money since it also includes a good breakfast! The room was spacious but the bathroom had moisture problems. Also some amenities were missing, e.g. shampoo, hairdryer, plates/ glasses.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave & the aircon in our room barely worked. You could turn it on, but it was not functioning properly. We had it on for 2 hours and it was actually cooler outside whilst the room was like an oven. ||We told the manager/owner who shrugged his shoulders saying "it's a machine, it happens". He could not care less & reluctantly gave us keys to a different room. Thankfully the aircon in the new room worked but the room was extremely small & claustrophobic. ||We decided to leave the following morning after breakfast when the owner told us  that there was nothing wrong with the aircon in our original room! ||His attitude was appalling so we decided to leave & find a different hotel even though we had booked & paid for 3 nights.  We didn't want this horrible experience to ruin our stay in Nisyros. ||The hotel itself is run down & old. We found a new hotel for the same price which is beautiful and has properly working aircon which is vital in this unbearable heat. ||

Very good location in Nisiros. Family business and clean hotel. The hotel has some private rooms out of hotels too and very nice and very good location on the hill so next time I would like to stay... The room is good enough but it needs some renovation and reconstruction the shower wall was some damage... I stayed 2 night and affordable...

Fantastic Greek hotel literally a minute from the port - we thoroughly enjoyed our night over whilst staying in kardamena. The room was basic but immaculate with clean sheets towels bathroom and air con which is all that was required . Our room also had a super sea view from the shared front terrace. Breakfast the morning after was so lovely. Fresh Greek hot coffee as well as instant - juices -yoghurt -fruit -nuts -honey -cereal- fresh fruit -fresh bread -toasties all ready to toast -jams - warm boiled eggs -cheese - tomatoes-olives -warm pastries - amazing value for money. The guy who runs / owns it was really pleasant. All in all a fab stay would highly recommend it and very close to the lovely village of Mandraki. We will return 👍

The owners of Romantza were very helpful rearranging our stay with them because we had a last minute change of plan. The hotel is a 1 minute walk from the port and 5 minute walk from the town. The breakfast is fabulous with everything covered to protect from insects. The accommodation is adequate with comfortable beds. Unfortunately the bathroom was a bit of a let down; basically rather small. The shower curtain stuck to you while washing. However this was our only issue during our stay.

Excellent value for money. Got a great room in the top floor with its own little balcony with views towards the church and the sea. The room itself is not too big, but perfectly clean and with a comfy bed. The breakfast buffet is very good and can be eaten outdoors. Great location right next to the port, with plenty of restaurants and shops in Mandraki within a short walk. If I have to nitpick for something negative, it was a bit noisy at night with the traffic on the road. It got quiet soon enough though. If I ever come back to Nisyros I will definitely try to stay here again.

Nestled on the picturesque Island of Nisyros, the Romantzo hotel may not have initially wowed me with its online visuals, but it quickly won me over with its undeniable charm and unbeatable location. Situated just a stone's throw away from the port of Nisyros, this hotel proved to be the perfect base for exploring the island's volcanic wonders. My mid-sized room, though not overly extravagant, offered a partial view of the shimmering Aegean Sea, which was more than enough to set a relaxing tone for my stay. The simplicity of the room was in line with the hotel's unpretentious vibe, and I appreciated that it served its purpose comfortably. What truly stood out was the breakfast experience. Romantzo may have offered a simple breakfast spread, but it was impeccably organized, a refreshing departure from the haphazard breakfast setups I had encountered on my travels. It ensured a delightful start to my days of island exploration. One of the most appealing aspects of Romantzo is that it remains open throughout the year, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a winter escape. The island of Nisyros, with its captivating charm, offers a wide array of activities for all types of travel enthusiasts. In the colder months, spa treatments provide a perfect way to unwind while taking in the island's unique atmosphere. It's worth noting that the hotel operates on a unique policy – they do not make the beds or clean the room unless guests request it. This might be a surprise for some, but it aligns with the hotel's commitment to maintaining a peaceful and unobtrusive atmosphere during your stay. What seals the deal at Romantzo, apart from its undeniable charm, is the reasonable pricing considering its prime location. Being so close to the port and within easy reach of Nisyros' attractions, it's an excellent choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient stay. In conclusion, Romantzo on the Island of Nisyros may not have been a showstopper on the internet, but it captured my heart with its location, organized breakfasts, and suitability for all-season visits. For travelers seeking simplicity, proximity to the port, and reasonable rates, Romantzo is an excellent choice for an unforgettable stay on this enchanting volcanic island.
