Rohan Marley on Hospitality, Wellness, and His Favorite Town in Mexico

"I relaxed in cocoon-like wicker nests at the ocean’s edge, savored health-focused, locally sourced Jamaican–Mexican fusion dishes, and grooved to live mariachi and reggae sets from visiting DJs at RoMarley Beach House, Rohan Marley’s club that debuted with The Fives Oceanfront in July 2020; the venue emphasizes wellness and community, and the team is developing Sun House, a wellness-retreat program offering sound baths, yoga, Reiki, and partnerships with local healers rather than treating traditional practices as a gimmick." - Glynn Pogue

Please don't waste your time and money to come to this place, false advertisement. This place is dirty, unkept, nastiest food you will ever taste, the rooms are filthy and moldy. I could go on and on, it’s totally disgusting here. I am currently here writing this review and usually don’t write reviews, but people need to know that all that glam advertising is false.

I just returned from this resort for a friend’s birthday celebration and my stay was wonderful. I did read the reviews before going which helped to monitor my expectations. I am happy to say my room was absolutely beautiful. It was clean and the view was great. The food was good, we dined at all restaurants on the resort. To previous reviewers credit it is possible to order the same thing twice and it come out different. Also it’s true per my experience that the portions can be a little small especially at breakfast. The Marley coffee is amazing! The food at the Italian restaurant was one of my favorites. The beach is beautiful and I love the boutique style of the hotel, it was refreshing to not walk a mile or 2 just to get to things on the resort, I loved that! The little town down the street is really cute and yes I felt safe and enjoyed the walk. I do wish they had more of a gift shop, I would have loved to buy a Marley T shirt and take home some of that coffee. I would return and I would recommend.

What can I say, when I arrived I was greeted by a very pleasant and jovial staff. They took all my required documents and while I wasn’t able to go to my room, I did have access to the entire resort from the time I arrived. Moises and the other waiters at the main restaurant were very pleasant and friendly. They held conversations with me even though I’m a novice when it came to speaking Spanish. They attended to me very well and attentively. I was pleasantly surprised when I received an upgrade to an ocean front suite that allowed me to wake up early every morning to enjoy the sun rise. They were very helpful with my every need and question. The Mayan sunset show on Friday evening was very delightful and interesting. However, while I enjoyed that the resort was not sprallingly large and there weren’t lots of guests, it was kind of hard to get a beach chair on the beach sometimes. The one time I was able to get one, unfortunately, I was ignored by the wait staff in the area where I was relaxing. Everyone around me was being waited after hand and foot while I had to walk to the bar by the pool when I wanted something to drink. I did manage to wave down a waiter to get me a drink and a bottle of water and I had to ask someone who wasn’t a waiter for some lunch. That was 3 hours after being on the beach and it was only after that that a waiter came over and asked me if I wanted anything. At that point i had just returned from the bar and had a full drink so I wasn’t in need of anything.

Foodquality was pretty awful, music crazy loud. Atmosphere dod not exist, only loudmouthed idiots that wanted to be sure everybody else was sick of them.||Food was alse crazy expensive considering the quality. ||I do not mind paying high prices, this had a value lower than a Pizzahut

When I tell you I absolutely loved this place. We arrived to see the sunrise and eat breakfast. The cafe was not open but Moises said, "we can still get you coffee". I thought that was very nice, he could have easily said we would have to wait until they are ipen but he said. "Its my pleasure". The service here was excellent. So, we decided to get a day pass and it was a perfect ending to our vacation . Meet great people. Definitely a place to stay. Great people warching, the most diverse hotel guest if that matters to you. Well done.

Beautiful spot in Porto Morels. The pool and the restaurant area is very nice. You can eat on the terrace or inside. On the terrace you have a beautiful view of the ocean. They offer a day pass to hang out and use the facilities such as the beach and the pool for a min consumption of 1000 pesos per person which is well worth it. The service at the restaurants was very good, they were very attentive and most of them spoke English very well. The menu has lots of options definitely there’s something in there for everyone, they also have lots of vegan/vegetarian options which is a nice plus. Our food was good, we had jerk chicken and a salad which were both tasty, the octopus appetizers on the other was so, so it could of been more grilled. Over all this is a nice spot to come have lunch and enjoy the view and the great vibe this restaurant offers. Will definitely be back.

Great first time in Mexico. Pretty well done, I have to say love the Bob Marley playing in the hallways the place is huge, the all inclusive was cool I just had a weekend so waiting on service for food was not an option getting instant food is not a thing it's remote though so it has a primal feel to when you get food feels like waiting for a hunter to bring food, honestly would have given 5 stars if the staff wasn't so prying to having other friends come to your room especially when they are clearly not a local but another international traveler they will literally tell them to wait at the entrance it's totally humiliating charging an extra $hundred to have someone you were intending to meet later is madness. Honestly, I was expecting worst but they almost got it down pat. The staff was not used to the large black group I was with they were hovering with helicopter upselling and meta micro management, but they are professional fun staff the hookah staff are amazing quick, very professional and very talented staff if you give them the opportunity to serve they will go out of their way to accommodate your needs nearly anything for their guests they went the extra mile and the taxis outside will take you to the airport no problem, admittedly did not leave the area aside from that as the taxis linger and stay there trading information all the time and much better to have concise dealings with them, near perfect I haven't even seen all of the spa and rooftop in action either so this just my perspective.
