Started bad, but ended up being fantastic.
Long story, but bare with me.
We booked this tour well in advance for my sons first trip to Rome.
We arrived in plenty of time, handed in all the documents you need (remember to take ID with you) and waited for our group and names to be called. Which they were.
We headed down to the Colosseum with the group and when we arrived there this is when it went bad.
They tour guide had lost our names/tickets from the group.
Myself and family, along with an American couple and an English women waited away from the group for the lost tickets to be found and brought to us from the office.
The others had their tickets found but ours was not.
As anyone can imagine this caused a great deal of stress, my son was upset, and we were asked to go back to the office.
When we got back to the office, we were asked if we wanted to go on a later tour that day, which we couldn't do as I had already made arrangements for other tours that day.
We were getting very worried and upset, but they pulled it out of the bag and made the day very memorable.
They called a tour guide Maria to come and take us round and do a private tour. She was amazing and so knowledgeable, she looked after my son and showed him everything.
He was so happy with the day and we were able to see everything (except go on the arena floor - but was given a partial refund for that).
We finished the tour with time to get to our other pre-booked trips.
They were great for sorting everything out, and thank you Maria for saving the day.
Shame that the day started badly, but finished great.
Would recommend, but please make sure that you are on the list and the tour guide has the tickets before heading down.
