The first time we stayed here, we got a family room with 6 beds, which was perfect for us. This time we got an 8 beds room, with two separate shower/toilet rooms, which was less comfortable for us as a family, as the entrance was narrow. However, it's kind of two separate rooms, so we could put the kids on one side and we slept at the other. The new building however has also 5 beds rooms, which are a lot more modern and nice. Breakfast is very good, coffee is nice, and they even have soy milk and oat milk. Dinner is also quite not bad, with many choices of salads. They have lots of board games, you just need to ask. Outside playground is wonderful. The location is not the best if you are looking for shopping in the center, but it's nicely located near the river and you can have a nice stroll along it.

Expensive parking scam!|4,50.-€ parking for staying not even 1 hour!|In my opignon ‘Guest Parking is free parking for guest’ |100 m further there is free parking , so this is a real rip off! Meals are ok and cost 10.- but then having to pay almost half of that for parking is unacceptable! Never again!

This is great for schools and families. I went to Trier as a Residential Trip with my school. The Staff were very friendly and helpful and always catered your needs. It has great, clean and efficient facilities, sure to make your stays great. The Rooms, Bathrooms and outdoor facilities sure are exceptional, although one downside to this is the Food. The Food Was Just Not It, I'd Like to see a change up to the breakfast menus, not just breads and cereals but some Hot Foods as well. But, there are refreshments in a Vending Machine as well as a Menu With Various Snacks to Make Sure you don't go off hungry.

We found glass shards in the corner of room 202, needs to be checked out by staff. Beautiful experience other than that.

Delicious breakfast with many choices included in the room price. Dinner and lunch on site if needed Dinner was simple and nice. Did not try lunch. Towels and soap included. Clean, friendly & helpful staff. Family friendly. Has 3 different buildings, a playground & little garden, with BBQ facility. 10 to 15 walk to historic city center. Nice river promenade in front. 2 bus stops 5 min. walk. Only set back from some parts of the building you can hear the traffic of a nearby road.

I stayed here with my son, we had single rooms, both were well appointed and very clean. The shared shower was clean and always available. Good selection of cereals at buffet breakfast, cheese and meats available. This is a very good hostel, excellent value for money in a very good location. The main square is 1 minute away. Karl Marx house, Roman baths and the amphitheatre all within walking distance. The train station is a 15 minute walk away.

Used to staying in youth hostels while travelling, this one is by far the best I've ever been to : location close to the Moselle and sightseeing on the vineyard, at walking distance to the city center, greaaaaat staff (very welcoming and caring, willing to give you any advice, etc...), perfectly clean room and bathroom, great buffet for breakfast, very pleasant "bistro" and terrace... I even decided to stay 2 nights instead of 1 ! Highly recommended !!

We stayed with a large group of students. The staff was kind and helpful to us all. The rooms were clean, and each had a separate bathroom. As is common in youth hostels, no towels were available, but pillowcases and such were. Breakfast was diverse and plenty. The hostel lies on a beautiful location right next to the river, which makes being outside very pleasant. However, the walk to the city centre was a bit longer for this reason.
