"Opened in 2013 in a converted stone cottage, this small restaurant grew out of a chef’s determination to cook the wholesome regional food of her childhood; she launched it after securing a site and financing by selling her wedding gold when banks declined loans. Early service was intensely hands-on — she took orders while holding her six-month-old daughter — and the menu focused on comforting, home-style Indian dishes. Running the place was personally costly in time with family, prompting the owner to step away after six years, but the venture established her culinary profile and led to television appearances, pop-ups, and cookbook opportunities." - Charlotte Druckman

It’s a cozy little cafe introduced by one of the locals here. It’s bustling, and we can see many people having their afternoon tea here. Ordered their homemade lemonades and apple pie with cream. The apple pie was really delicious! Crust was soft and the cream was light. There was a generous amount of apple in the slice, nicely coated with cinnamon sauce. Lovely!

Delicious food ! We loved our toast, the menu is short but all the meals seemed so good. The restaurant is very cute and cozy, the service was good and quite fast. I highly recommend it ! Plus, the price were good and the restaurant was not full of tourists which was cool.

We stopped here for a bite to eat for breakfast in Volendam. Worth a visit, the food was great and they were good portion sizes. Good price too, seemed very reasonable. My only comment would be that they seemed stretched on stuff, though I do believe it was a bank holiday. Would recommend

Nice little restaurant on the market square, away from the harbor tourist crowds. They have a huge sunny terrace, at least 4 times as big as the restaurant itself. Dishes are tasty, they have vegetarian breakfast and lunch options, and they put great effort into making everything look nice as well. Healthy green smoothies. Great coffee from Bocca. Decaf and oat milk no problem. If you're in Volendam, this is one of the better places to grab a bite.

We had a great breakfast in the restaurant. The products and vegetables are so fresh! Ask for a red Velvet slice of cake and Chicken sandwich you won't regret them.
