We rarely post bad reviews but! 1: Our waitress was excellent. 2: The smash burgers were good hamburgers but $24.00 each? Wow 3: The Asian salad was underwhelming. It had the cabbage parts that you toss when you are home.,no romaine lettuce on this romaine salad very bland and minimal dressing. 4: The Mediterranean salad , menu said(romaine, carrots, mandarins, toasted almonds, crispy wonton, soy miso dressing) saw no carrots or no green parts of the romaine only white parts, no almonds) 5: Mediterranean Chop Salad menu said: romaine, tomatoes, olives, cucumber, chickpeas, feta, oregano vinaigrette, crispy pita. No chickpeas found, We don’t complain we just don’t come back. It was better years ago

Really fun rooftop lounge with a nice view of the ocean. Great place to grab a drink and some lite food and watch the sunset. It can get a bit noisy and a little crowded during their busy time so be mindful of that. Also parking is a pain so build in some extra time and plan on walking a block or two.

We absolutely loved our visits here!! Came for lunch one day, and since it was so great, we came back for dinner the next night! Drew was our server at lunch, and he was so awesome! Couldn’t have been better! Christian was so helpful with the umbrella, table, and making sure we were all set with everything. They made our lunch experience fantastic, and then, of course, the food and views were just amazing!! For dinner, Holly was our server, and she was awesome, too!! Perfect service! We got lucky to have Christian helping, again, and he even remembered us from the day before! Super cool and friendly! It’s rare to have the trifecta in a restaurant- food, view, and service- this place is it! Love it!! Thanks so much!!

Been here over dozens of times in the past 10 years when the place was called k’ya bistro. We like the shared plates format. $20 for a 6 oz glass of an OK Cabernet is a complete rip-off!

Service and food is great, as is the view particularly at sunset, but what drives my lower review is the dishonesty on their menu. We ordered what the menu says is a "pitcher" of Sangria, to be served a carafe. You can buy by the glass at $16 or a pitcher for $55, but when you are served a carafe it doesn't serve the same. This is especially important for groups of folks thinking they will be served a pitcher of sangria. Disappointing they cannot be honest in their menu. See picture below.

The coolest spot we come across in a long time. The hotel and rooftop staff were so helpful and genuinely friendly. As floral vendors for a small wedding reception, we were guided through the quickest entrances, stairways, and elevators to achieve our setup. It was great to work alongside Rachel and her team to get the tables set quickly. The views are stunning, and the festive touches throughout the hotel made a perfect So Cal Holiday atmosphere.

My husband and I were visiting from Charlotte, NC. Friends of ours took us there on Friday night. We loved it so much that my husband and I returned for cocktails and dinner the next night. When we walked into the hotel, we were immediately greeted by the owner, Jim Hall. He welcomed us back and took us upstairs and brought us to our table which had a perfect view of the ocean. Jim was the most congenial host!! He sat with us and talked. He even brought us the samples of wine we wanted to try. He took our orders and let our server know what we wanted. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere, perfect and the service, impeccable! We're already talking about our next trip to California and The Rooftop Lounge will be our first stop!!!

1 star is honestly too much for this place. I'm someone who never leaves reviews, even if the experience is bad, but we're mid-dinner and I can't help but voice how atrocious our experience has been at The Rooftop Lounge. We arrived at 5:20, our first order was taken at 5:55 after one of our table guests stood up to grab a server's attention and was subsequently given attitude by the server. The drink order arrived at 6:15, and food came out shortly after at 6:25. The food was undercooked and generally disappointing. The Patatas Bravas were cold and undercooked, while the Caesar Salad came without dressing (we requested dressing, which still hasn't arrived). I also didn't know Caesar Salad could be bad. The Calamari was not fully fried. We ordered the Crab Cakes and received the Baked Brie instead. To be fair to the Lounge, they did not charge for the mistaken Brie. I will caveat that I recognize every place has its bad days, and that running a restaurant is challenging. The service has seemed to improve at least in the past 10 minutes as the team detected some frustration from our table. It hurts me to write this review. But this is the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant, and I hope they might improve in the future. My friends and I won't be back to see if things get better.

This is a great spot for good ocean views and outdoor eating, so maybe worth a visit once, but don't super need to go back. Veggie tacos and olive tapenade were very tasty and had great flavors. I would get those again. Service was super slow and really inattentive to us as customers, so did not feel like it was a great experience overall. It was poppin, so people must love it!

I've been coming here for years with friends, family, bfs and parents. The food is always great and the drinks even better... I'm not much of a drinker either. It would be really cool if they had mocktails but the cocktails are on par. Basically anywhere you sit they'll have a nice view for you. But if you want to sit next to the glass call ahead and make a reservation. Service is quick but they use a service elevator to bring your food up from the kitchen so I can see how it could take a while if they are busy. Definitely worth it though.

TLDR: Book a reservation on Resy otherwise you will not get a seat on the edge because the team onsite will tell you that those seats require a reservation and that they are fully booked (when they most definitely are not.) I've frequented the Rooftop Lounge often over the past several years and had never experienced anything out of the ordinary previously, hence why why I'm rating it 2 stars instead of 1. My latest experience, unfortunately, changed my perception. The website does not advertise any opportunity to create a reservation so I naively assumed there isn't a possibility to book an advance. I arrived before my friend and asked to sit at one of the several empty tables on the edge. The hostess informed me they are reservation only and that they are full fully reserved for the day. Thankfully, my friend was running late and I gave him a call frustrated that we could have had the opportunity to book via Resy to get one of those empty seats. He pulled up Resy on his phone and lo and behold there were actually several slots open immediately for that afternoon. he booked one of those and upon arrival asked for his table and sure enough we were seated at one of the many empty tables along the wall. I was absolutely floored, I could not believe it. Several tables remain empty the duration of our lunch and at one point I have a couple came and asked for one of the numerous empty tables and told the same thing I was. I have no idea what they're trying to accomplish or what they stand again by lying to their patrons. Very disappointed.

Has a great view and terrific ambiance and even better cocktails, especially in the summer time!

One of my favorite brunch rooftops to take guest and come for nice views. Food is always fresh with decent service. Always a bit busy so don't expect overly waiting on you, but good enough.

Laguna Beach is one of my fav spots in Southern California, and sitting on a rooftop deck sipping cocktails and eating fresh seafood is one of the best ways to see Laguna Beach from above. We got here just before happy hour was about to end and put in 3 orders of coconut shrimp, an order of mussels, the spicy tater tots and calamari, as well as drinks - margs and mojitos. We asked the server to come back before happy hour was up and we ordered Chardonnay and beers. The food was just the right amount for our group of four, and super tasty all around, although I prefer mussels cooked in white wine and garlic vs. a tomato-based sauce. Service was awesome, view was amazing, food delicious and filling, happy hour prices incredible and the company of my family one of my best memories of this most recent visit. My next visit I will be here right when happy hour starts so I can fully bask in the view, the food & drink, and company. Might even grab a room in the charming hotel this rooftop deck serves

Went here on Friday to celebrate my friend's 21st and the staff were so friendly! Speedy service and caring staff who checked up on us and delivered us our food and drinks quickly! I ordered the Baja fish tacos and they were amazing 10/10. The slaw was perfect, the tortillas tasted amazing, and the fish was battered and crispy. The tomatillo salsa was the perfect addition. My friends ordered drinks and the mango mojito was another 10/10, it comes with a sugarcane stick and was very refreshing. The pomegranate martini was very very strong though, so just beware. I don't think they have a menu for like dinner though as it was mostly appetizers but the Baja fish tacos came with 3 tacos and it was the perfect portion for dinner. The menu is pretty limited though. The ambiance was to die for. We could see the sunset on the beach and they had heaters out so although it was cold, we weren't freezing. We had such a lovely time and would definitely come back!

First time here and the location in the heart of Laguna Beach with nice views if there's no overcast. It's a good size rooftop deck with good amount of tables & seats. You can walk up and sit at the bar without reservations. It's best to make reservations on their website so you can get a seat during the busy hours. Our Server was not very attentive. We ordered and literally had to keep looking to see where he disappeared to. The menu is very limited with very mediocre food. We went with a few appetizers including the calamari & wings. For entrees we got a breakfast burrito which is served only for brunch on the weekends which had a sweet taste that wasn't great, and a fried chicken sandwich which was chewy and a little undercooked. Unfortunately, I will not be back for the food maybe just for a drink to enjoy the view.

We went for lunch around 1:00 in a Saturday and I was thrilled they were still serving brunch. There was no wait time and luckily we were able to find a spot in the shade since it was a gorgeous, sunny day. The views are unbeatable - ocean all around! We enjoyed our spritz's and I loved the Chilaquiles. The avocado toast had a unique presentation but my friends enjoyed theirs. Staff was super friendly and checked in regularly. Perfect place to be when the sun is shining and drinks are flowing!

Love this little hidden rooftop bar! It's located on the top of the Casa Del Camino hotel and has a wonderful view of the ocean. There are lots of options for seating ranging from high tops to standard seating. We came here on a weekday afternoon, waiting for our reservation at another restaurant and we got lucky as it was right at happy hour. Since we already made dinner plans, we ended up grabbing some drinks which were very at great prices. I tried both the Classic Mojito ($9) and Mango Mojito ($9) and they were both well made. The drinks were super refreshing and the vibe was super relaxing. I would definitely be back for more drinks and to try out their food next time. The ambiance was fantastic. I'm never a fan when a server judges you based on the number of drinks you order. You won't have any of that here as the staff were all around courteous and friendly. In regards to accessibility, there are a lot of stairs going up but they do have an elevator.

Came during happy hour on a Wednesday and there was plenty of seating. The staff was great and took the time to give us recommendations on food and stuff to do around the neighborhood. The drinks were good but the food was better. Had a great time enjoying the views.

The view, the view, the view. I've been to Rooftop three times since the new year, twice for brunch and once at night for a cocktail. The rooftop location on top of the Casa del Camino hotel has great ambiance and a complete view of the sparkling ocean. I recommend making a reservation on Resy before coming, as I find that I get a table with a closer view when I have one. Food: Rooftop meals leave a lot to be desired, especially for the price. I recently ordered their seasonal omelette, which is advertised to have roasted forest mushrooms, brie, and asparagus. What I received was a dry omelette with bits of chewy mushroom inside and random bits of melted brie, no asparagus. I didn't say anything because our server was absent for most of our time there. I am honest when I say I either always finish a meal or take home the leftovers. I couldn't finish the omelette and didn't bother with leftovers. I feel like a smother of hollandaise sauce or at least some bonus fillings to beef up the flavor would've helped the poor omelette. Drinks: I've tried the Jalapeno Business, Ocho Naranjas, and different varieties of their margarita options (spicy cucumber takes the cake). The flavors are good, but they aren't very strong. If you want that extra punch, maybe order a double. Overall, Rooftop is a beautiful rooftop lounge with magnificent views of the ocean where I can take out-of-town visitors to get a great view of Laguna and have a few drinks.

Amazing food and service. Went during happy hour. My girlfriend tried her first espresso martini and found it was not her cup of tea.... Waitress was extremely polite and understanding and swapped her drink for a house margarita. I got the wings and they were the BEST chicken wings i've had in my entire life. Bone licking good. My girlfriend got the shrimp and we shared some hummus. Both amazing and worth every penny. The view was gorgeous. We also really enjoyed the house music playing. 100/10 will return. Parking is a huge pain but worth arriving early to figure out and find a spot.

Yummy eats & drinks, primo service at the bar, and killer views! Perfect place to visit when family is in town. We didn't have a reservation so we were placed on the wait list. We were told less than an hour. We were at the bar for two. No call. Besides that, we had a great night bc of a fabulous bartender.

This review is mainly for service and ambiance. Service was absolutely wonderful! From the bartenders, host, and servers! We did not have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us yesterday. We just missed the full menu by 30 mins my friend was bummed they were going to accommodate one item but he wanted to go elsewhere. I'll def have to be back to try the fig and goat cheese brushata!!!

Grabbed a quick happy hour drink here on my mini vacation to Laguna. Fantastic view of the beach and the ocean, friendly staff, and my Aperol spritz was tasty and cheap! I didn't get a chance to try the food, but the menu looked approachable and casual.

Excellent service! First time dining here with my family and I will gladly be returning. Andrea was my waitress, couldn't have been better, she was very helpful and attentive. The ocean views were amazing! I highly recommend dining here!!

We ate late lunch there Dec. 31, 2024 Service was ok...better training needed. We had fish tacos...no pico or any sauce. We choose Asian salad....no romaine And when we asked, waitress said It was just very chopped...not so...I'm very familiar With types of lettuce....and it had only 3 little Orange slices. I cannot recommend this place....there are so many Options for great food. Only positive...it has a lovely view.

5 stars! Staff at the amazing Rooftop Lounge including Jim Hall, Gavin and others were outstanding. Great food, great service, great views and reasonable prices. We celebrated a birthday there with an ocean view and a beautiful sunset. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of ocean view dining and great hospitality at an affordable price. Also, there is a hotel, at the same location, La Casa Del Camino, in Laguna Beach, CA.

Ambiance and view : 5/5 it's so beautiful up here and not too busy on a Saturday mid day Food: 3/5 average food not bad but definitely nothing special for the price Drinks: 4/5 loved the Hugo spritz !! Other comments: we were running 30 minutes late to our reservation and called to let them know so they could hold our table. We called about 8 times no answer. We called the hotel to see if they could help and they said they weren't affiliated with the restaurant. Was frustrating because we had a table by the edge to see the water for our reservation but they moved us to a table not right on the edge because we were more than 15 minutes late. We tried to call but with no answer it was very inefficient to have no way to contact the restraint. Service was okay, kinda slow . Hostess wasn't super friendly and should have seated us by the water because there were open tables that never got filled before we left

Have been to this awesome rooftop restaurant more than a few times and the view is absolutely spectacular at sunset, probably the best in Laguna Beach. The service and servers are so attentive to making this the best experience one could hope for. Particularly like to mention Philip and how awesome he is and how memorable he made each of my visits. The food is just at good and tasty. Just love going to the Rooftop after a fun day at the beach!

I give this rooftop 5/5 stars. I've always had a positive experience here and it's the perfect spot for a sunset, food and drinks. They have heaters outside if the weather is a little chilly and offered us a blanket if needed. The team is kind the service is quick. This Last visit we came for the sunset and it was perfect. If you have a large party, I would recommend placing a reservation but we were a party of two and could choose any of the high top tables available which made for a quick sitting. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich and a salad for a side. All was great. Later we went downstairs, finished our drinks and sat by the fireplace place to chill for a bit. Great place!

Ambiance - was nice but when booking this place it only gave me1 time option but when I got there only 6 tables had guest . The bar drinks are okay nothing extraordinary . Service- server was great very friendly and polite . She suggested her favorite things and checked in on us often . Food - was okay nothing really special burger was really not a smash burger per day but it was okay. Fries were cold . Steak and eggs were okay the steak was okay drizzled with some chimi churi . The view was nice overall 3 stars .

Arrived a little before1pm with my wife, our server greeted us very quickly and took our order. Calamari, baked Brie and a coke. At 1:30 all we had was a coke and people who had been seated after us had their food, our server told us there was a mistake and the kitchen and our order was about to come out. At 1:40 he came back without our food and told us he'd comp our meal. At 2 we still had no food and hadn't seen our server since he told us he'd take care of our meal. We walked out without eating to go find somewhere else to eat. 1 star for the view.

we had a 6:30 PM reservation that we made through RESY and were seated immediately. the weather was amazing and the drinks were super yummy! the food was more like appetizers sizes and quality,,so i would recommend having a munch before or only getting the drinks. the food wasn't worth the price imo the drinks were ordered: -berry mojito (5/10) -mango mojito (10/10) -lime in the coconut (7/10) -elderflower highball (2/10) overall the drink we liked was the MANGO MOJITO! it was refreshing and sweet = super scrumptious food we ordered: -whipped feta (6/10) -baja fish tacos (6/10) nothing too special about these foods. wouldn't really order them again,, i would rather stick to the drinks and the view our waiter was super attentive and kept checking in on us! amazing service from this establishment!

Such a beautiful view from the rooftop! The weather is so perfect. It is not to go or not too hot. The parking is street parking with meters. It isn't always the best but I got lucky this day. They are always pretty busy. My friends and I sat at the bar, it was about eight of us. The food came out about 30 minutes and they make the drinks very fast. There's a lot of areas to get great photos. When you walk in, there's a green backed up in a margarita flight on display. I got the calamari. It was so sad that it did not come in marinara sauce, comes with a mayo aïoli. It was $23. The calamari wasn't as crispy as I like it, but it was decent. It had a nice seasoning on it.

This review is based solely on the service. Despite arriving around 2 pm and being seated promptly, no one attended to our table for a good 30 minutes. We ended up leaving without even talking with a server. The View of the restaurant is perfect.

WOW! I dined here on Saturday for brunch, our server Luke took amazing care of us. Food and drinks were great, Rachel the manager also came over to check on us and was very nice. Everyone was so great and helpful. Definitely worth the visit!

My family and I love coming for brunch and watching the dolphins from the rooftop. You can't beat these views!!! The staff is amazing from the host Andrea who always greets us with a warm welcome to the bartenders Jon, Ethan, and Holly who remember what we like to drink and never let our drinks go empty. We absolutely love this place and look forward to when we come back!

A great place for sunset cocktails and apps. The happy hour hummus is enough for 4 or more people. We ordered it plus extra pita bread, ate all the bread and there was STILL more hummus, probably another 2-3 people's worth, it was fantastic. Artichoke dip great as well tied together with a pitcher of sangria, hard to beat!

We had a birthday dinner celebration atop The Rooftop Lounge on the last Saturday of 2024. The venue is absolutely beautiful and you cannot beat that view, especially during sunset! It was an amazing time! Jim Hall, the owner, is so warm and welcoming, and our table was ready upon arrival so we were seated immediately. The food and drinks were fantastic, and I cannot say enough nice things about our server, Gavin, who was so attentive (we were a crowd of 20+) and our food came out in a timely manner! Gavin also was able to give us some great menu recommendations which I appreciated! We will definintely be back, and again highly recommend this wonderful place!

Food and drinks were good...service is a little slow but the view is amazing! Great way to spend a summer afternoon

I am so so bummed about this experience because this place has always been a favorite. But the service has just really gone down hill. This last visit might be our last for a while. We arrived on time for our reservations only to sit at our table for 20 minutes without any service. My friend finally went up to the bar and asked someone to come take our orders. No one came. After another 10 minutes she went back to the bar and just placed our drink order. We never really knew who our server was, whenever we asked each gentleman that helped us if thy were our server, we got told he went to grab something? Very bizarre. Upon attempting to order food, we were told the brunch menu posted online and via the QR code on every single table was not being offered. This has happened before as well. But the measly tiny, entirely different menu printed and handed to us we could order from? What is the point of the online/ QR code menus? No one could tell us. They were extremely short and rude about this with 0 explanation. This feels like a bait and switch. Most of the time when we needed something we'd look around and see the gentleman standing around talking. We were constantly trying to flag someone down, forgoing our server (whoever he was) for the bar to order drinks. We finally ordered the hummus and breakfast potatoes. The potatoes came out cold like they'd been sitting there for a while. The hummus plate was gorgeous and big! but came with 4 finger-sized pieces of bread. We asked for the rest of the bread for the plate because it was wildly off proportion, like laughable, for how much dip was left compared to the tiny pieces of bread that were gone in 5 seconds. Not only was the server rude regarding our inquiry on the tiny bread, he charged us for more? Well it seemed like the bread was forgotten because it didn't come out for another 30 minutes while we were signing the bill. The lack of a real menu, poor service and bad food all made for such a sad experience here. With this being a historical spot and gorgeous location, you'd think at least one of the three would be on point. We've been coming here for years and don't think we'll be back for a while. This was a birthday celebration for someone who doesn't usually celebrate, and I'm so disappointed it turned out this way for her. Hoping a manager sees this and addresses it with the staff.

Service slow. Overall good food and expected prices except for the $22 French toast that was two pieces of small toast, even at a place like this that's quite a poor value.

We arrived were seated promptly. After waiting for over 15 minutes no greeting, no water, They also seated someone after us and the got waited on. The waitress walked by us 4 times we shouldn't have to flag them down. We decided many other options and left. They were not busy. Nice view, Bad service

We enjoyed our experience at the rooftop. Phillip was our server and he was awesome! I will be back!

I absolutely loved the service, everyone was super nice and welcoming. The food was also good, i went for brunch so it was only appetizers but it was still good. The view was amazing !!

Come in today for happy hour cocktails. We were also interested in a private event and met with Rachel. We saw an incredible sunset and had great drinks. Will definitely be back!
