This is my time in Zurich and I went to this bar with my friend on the very first day. It was a balmy sunny day. I had the sundowner my friend had the Paloma. Both of those drinks are very nice. We also ordered the french fries they had sprinkled some seasoning on top of that which made it really tasty. I highly recommend it, especially if you can get one of those corner seats on the outside

Stopped in for a light lunch and couldn't be happier. We had the bao buns and a California rolls on the rooftop deck with a nice view of Zurich including the observatory and the Jules Verne lounge. When we visited the building was under renovation but don't let that put you off

This place had been my number one spot for years. I celebrated my birthday here, regularly came for late-night dinners, and enjoyed Sunday brunches with friends. I truly loved this rooftop. However, two weeks ago I made a dinner reservation for two and unfortunately arrived 15 minutes late. I tried to call and even sent a text message, but received no response. When we arrived, the staff member (who struggled with German) informed us that our table had been given away and offered us seats at the bar instead. Honestly, that’s disappointing. Loyal customers deserve better communication and a bit more effort in service. Would love to go back, but there’s a but…

Great food and even better view down to Zürich. Service was ok - not really good. Good Weather-great choice! I can recommend this place.

This place is a hidden gem near the Zurich train station (a 5 minute walk). I had some time to kill before my flight and had a great meal and wine at the Rooftop. There's outside seating available too if you want to enjoy the view. They also have different portion sizes which was amazing because you can order as per appetite and/or group size. The servers were accommodating because I had bags with me, and service was fast and good.

Perfect lunch setting on the terrace. The service, atmosphere and food all 10/10. The crispy duck was one of the best I have ever had.

The best spot to view the city. Really helps you decompress and relax. The staff is very polite and helpful. 4/5 because the entrance on the ground floor is neglected and under renovation It’s a shame because this is where the first impression is made.

Four stars for food. Five stars for our waiter - Julian. Being from NY, I have had countless fine dining experiences. The initial service tonight at OOO Rooftop almost made me leave and not even try the food. I made a reservation months in advance - only to be 20 minutes late due to delayed flights. I messaged the restaurant to tell them and ask for a slight extension to 15 minute grace period. Instead they emailed me that they cancelled my reservation when I was five minutes away. I still went hoping for Grace. Instead the obnoxious blond woman at the door told me I could not have a rooftop table anymore because of being late even though there were still many table on the roof open and empty. She told me she canceled my reservation and that the open tables were for others now. She gave me the end of an inside table with people still seated at it. I was exhausted from travel with my kids and a little heart broken during my first night in zurich when Julian walked up. He had heard the exchange and apologized for the cold welcome to the restaurant. He changed our table to outside, gave us time and attention and answered all of our questions about food and drinks. He checked on us often and changed the entire night for us with kindness and attention. We ordered way more than we needed because he made the night so nice. Julian should get a raise for preventing a 1 star review for the restaurant - by saving the night with his good service. Whoever the owner is - Julian is a gem and he had the reputation of the restaurant protected tonight. Fire your hostess. She's absolutely obnoxious and does not have your best interest in mind.

Nette Bedienung, gute Atmosphäre drinnen wie auch draussen auf der Terrasse, von wo man eine schöne Aussicht auf den Kreis 1 von Zürich hat. Essen war auch gut und für die Lage des Restaurants preislich durchaus im Rahmen. Reservation ist zu empfehlen.

Be prepared for Lots of smokers, otherwise ambience was nice, wouldn't come here for a meal, only if you need appetizers.

The food was amazing! We had a group of 5 so it was awkward eating outside on the cocktail tables. Definitely recommend larger groups eat inside for better experience. Overall, though, we enjoyed our meal.

I VERY RARELY leave a bad review, I'm not that type of person. Went to the "Rooftop" during a beautiful day. Walked in ahead of another group who did not have reservations (briefly spoke in the elevator in the way up). Talked to the host and asked for a spot on the patio (which was full with it being a nice day). We politely said we would wait at the bar for a spot. The host told us he would get us as soon as a table opened up. We each ordered a drink at the bar and watched as the couple in the elevator and two additional couples that walked in were sat on the patio. When my wife made eye contact with the Host he came over and said he had a table that was only open until 8pm (less than an hour from the current time). We finished our drink at the table and left. Our female server was very kind, accommodating, and completely unaware of our what had occurred earlier. We'll definitely be back to Zürich (INCREDIBLE CITY AND WONDERFUL PEOPLE) but will not come back to this restaurant/bar.

Although the food itself is visually appealing and well curated, the taste is lacking and feels almost bland. The restaurant did not have the proper condiments for sushi and the sauce on the noodle dish tasted like plain mayonnaise. Except for it's need for taste improvement, the atmosphere and servers were amazing and the view was nice.

Wow! This is a must eat place! So many vegan options and the friendliest staff. The bartender created all the drinks on the drink menu and created the images for the menu. There's even a drink that's on fire! If you are vegan I highly recommend the tuna tartare, chicken Cesar salad and the veggie gao. Each was better than the last. If anyone reads this- what type of "chick'n" do you use for the salad ? I want to see if I can find something similar at home.

We were doing circles trying to find this spot! Looked attractive from the reviews of the stunning vantage point of the city. We entered the Modissa to get up to the restaurant via elevators. The second you make it to the rooftop, the view of Zurich had a sort of elegant touch. Seating is comfortable, classy and welcoming for small groups to meet up. My favorite dish out of the food we ordered was the gyoza, but nothing can beat the drinks they offered. If I were to come here again, I'd just come here to enjoy the well-made cocktails on a sunny day!

TIP: make a reservation online in advance! It can get quite crowded on nice days since everyone wants to be eating outdoors. :) POSITIVES: outdoor seating, view of Zurich city center, great place to grab drinks and hang out with friends, long list of drinks NEGATIVES: expensive, mediocre food, slow service The Thai curry was average, the xiaolongbao soup dumplings were not very good at all, and the only thing we liked was the crispy salmon sushi roll. However the portions were all tiny! So the bill will always come out to be quite a lot if you go there for a serious meal. I would recommend just going for a snack and drinks with your friends to enjoy the view & vibe!

Amazing view.. excellent service... great food (try the crisp salmon sushi and mini burgers). A nice discovery of a roof top experience just outside the main train station. The exterior patio doors all open to have the complete area feel "Roof top".

As a transplant from Chicago, one thing I miss is the dim sum and steamed dumplings that you can get in Chinatown. So after seeing Rooftop listed as an option on the Katzentisch.ch booking site, we decided to give it a try. Reviews here already talk about the great views and cocktails. And I won't argue that, as both really are good. Try the "Honey, Shake me a Cocktail" drink for something different and tasty. The restaurant is a little similar to a chinese dim sum restaurant, in which trolleys of little Asian dishes are rolled from table to table. The only disappointing part is that they don't come often enough, and they do seem to be presented in particular order (as the Swiss tend to do with everything). My experience at traditional dim sum restaurants is the dishes are wheeled out constantly and with lots of options in no particular order. Dishes range in price from 6chf to 18chf, and there is no menu to reference. So if you want to keep track of your tab, make sure to ask through the meal. First offerings were small appetizer type courses (edamame, little dips or salads, etc) then followed by something more substantial (mussels, very popular spare ribs, etc). Then followed by what we were looking forward to: the steamed Asian dumplings! These are definitely good, and we weren't disappointed. In fact, when we go back we will ask to go straight to the Asian dumplings first! There was also a dessert trolley but by that point we had already eaten too much. All in, this was a fun change to our other dining experiences in Zurich. We would definitely go back for the dumplings and the view.

This place is a hidden gem in Zürich! The food tastes delicious, the view is beautiful, and the service is impeccable! We had the Vegan gao dumplings, the Dumplings of the day, the mini burgers, two servings of the lachs sushi (because it was THAT good), the papaya salad, and the panna cotta. Overall the food was AMAZING but the mini hamburgers are in fact VERY small and the papaya salad didn't contain much papaya and was mostly cucumber, but refreshing nonetheless. Don't come here if you're ravenous because the servings are tiny (we ordered six dishes total not including dessert because three dishes didn't fill us up). Also, the cocktails are VERY well made and our experience there was delightful! Make a reservation in advance because it fills up fast!!! We will definitely be coming back!

this is the very last restaurant on the last night we went to on our vacation trip. we flew back home the next day. ate lots of food and had a great time.

Food was pretty good. Udon noodles and ramen were the best part. Extremely slow service, not attentive at all. Waited 30 minutes just to get our check with empty wine glasses for a very long time. The view is nice, but I would not come back simply because the poor service outweighed the mediocre food.

A wonderful Asian fusion restaurant and rooftop bar. Amazing view and great beer and beverages

-Cool views: check -Great cocktails: check. They are pretty generous with the size too -Yummy food: check. Lunch is without a menu - you actually need to listen the waiter as he cites the options- such a refreshing experience. Fried duck salad will make you wanna go back if not for the dumplings :) -Cool design: check. Amazingly coherent and pleasing. Tones of gold with army greens and browns from menu to dishes, from chopsticks to napkins.

Definitely make a reservation. This place has the BEST view over Bahnhofstrasse and Zurich. The concept is Switzerland meets Dim Sum (minus the dim sum). They bring all the food and deserts on trays. I intentionally didn't provide Yelp with a photo because I don't want to set any expectations and would rather just let the view speak for itself. As good as the food is, the cocktails are even better. I had one that came in a monkey head mug...

Its 1:30 pm, therefore not lunchtime anymore and the lady with red hair working there just told me i have to leave my table rightnow to make space for people who order more than just a simple cup of tea. This in my eyes, should definetly be mentioned before they take orders. When telling her i've just been sitting here for five minutes, my tea has just arrived before she showed up and i havent even drunk a sip, she didnt care. All they want is more cash in the bank. This is not acceptable at all! Paid my tea and left. Sad the service isnt caring for their guests who have been there several times.

Nice constellation of ambience, food, cocktails and view. Pisco Inferno was a curious choice on my part to cool down the Padron Pimientos, which were nicely prepared. The crunchy deep fried salmon sushi rolls were not a revelation but appreciated for their difference. The beef sliders mysteriously and significantly lacked salt. Obviously the cook was not in love - but nothing a little DIY couldn't put right. Overall, a satisfying experience - not exactly cheap but hey this is Zurich...

Stunning restaurants with killer decor and gorgeous view over Zürich. We where immediately very impressed. There is no Menu but the Staff circulates through the restaurant with different plates of food ranging from asian to fusion kitchen. Cool concept but they do not pull it off well, they hardly ever past near us and we had constantly to ask for more food. What they served was delicious and we loved the dumplings as well as the petit desserts. The barkeeper mixed fantastic cocktails and the staff was very friendly. Though, the prices are a turn off, for what we eat at the end it was a bit tooooo overpriced even for Zurich standards. All in all we had a nice time and this is for sure a great place for a special occasion.
